The haunted hearse car show AUG 6
Scary Guy replied to SlavicGoth's topic in Nightlife, Events & Concerts
Seriously, go watch "Harold and Maude" Like now :D -
"Oh, sorry for existing wrong/not like you want." That annoys me to no end. It's not like we can just stop being Autistic and it's a very large part of our lives. He should either learn to deal with that or he can get bent. You know your value which is great. Though you keep telling yourself everything is okay when it's clearly not and that is damaging you. I do believe you are getting better though, but that other part sounds like it's your mother talking and not you. I don't think everyone is bad, it's just the road to hell is paved with good intentions. On top of that everyone has their own issues that they also need to deal with and do their best not to acknowledge. Solitude is great but no man (or woman) is an island. It's just finding those rare people who you can actually trust that aren't complete trash which is the hard part. (Also this isn't advice it's an observation, so make of it what you will.)

I know that one, it is or was down in Texas. Oh wow, sounds like she may still doing it: https://www.hemmings.com/stories/2019/05/18/four-links-barbie-dream-hearse-still-on-the-road-at-95-corvette-thief-outs-himself-donner-pass-by-car -
The unmarked ones do suck, but they are still fairly easy to spot.

Sorta, but no, but that was great too for the short thing that it was. I'm about to go make a thread!

What made your day?
Scary Guy replied to Rev.Reverence's topic in Relationships, Pets & Domestic Homelife
Not Google/Alphabet, but I was thinking a new subforum on here, or maybe a post! Hey I can do this. I can be the change I want to see! Yes, I have heard it described as "the Michigan bible belt" which is why I tend to avoid it. Though somehow I manage to get along unless someone chooses not to. -
I never quote the wrong post, except when I do. But that time was not this time, and if I did I'd edit it. I don't do tact, I don't dance around things, and I wanted those who have had issues to feel seen, safe, and welcomed. I think with some it's going to take a while to build up that feeling again even if he is gone.

Good for them and for you. Still sorry to hear about your friend's kid though, and her. I've heard that outliving your offspring is really horrible.

I can't find that scene from The Mangler I'm looking for, so just go watch it because it's a good bad movie.

Nice. There used to be a rideboard at one point but it is unfortunately long disused. I hope Mo is okay, she was nice. It would be cool if DGN set up something like this. -

Get the enhanced ID and you're good.

That happens with a lot of people. I think you're using a different part of your brain to do that is why. I used to know Danny D back when he owned Whisky in the Jar in Hamtramck. He had turrets syndrome but he was a great Rod Stewart impersonator doing songs on stage and whatnot. Haven't seen him in years though, hope he's doing alright.

Oof, you get a PPO from the popo? Just a piece of paper though, but if you can show harassment then they can mess with him.

Yikes. Well I guess technically speaking sister in law is better than an actual sister. The only thing I'd worry about turning off your phone is not being able to get important notifications, but whatever makes you happy I guess.

I've waited long enough. Might as well give my take on how they're really mostly meaningless. Our brains are always active and processing information, never stopping unless you happen to get into a career in government. When we hit REM sleep and are dreaming our brains are processing information we have gathered and some of it takes the form of dreams, which are just our brains trying to make sense of the information we have gathered. Sometimes they're entertaining, sometimes they're scary, and sometimes when you are 12 you wake up spot-welded to the bed. My explanation for some of the things you dream taking form in real life is as follows. 1. There are billions of people dreaming all over the planet, so the odds are pretty good this will happen to a few of us. 2. They're lying about it to sound more interesting and get either attention and maybe money as a "psychic." My hypothesis for the first possibility is that as I said our brains are always taking in information whether we realize it or not. Our brains sort through that information and come up with scenarios that could be likely and play them in our heads. So someone goes "Oh, so and so got into a car crash and I had a dream that was going to happen!" Yeah they did because they subconsciously noticed the car was having trouble so there were vehicular problems, or they subconsciously noticed minor health problems, or they just happened to get into a car crash and it's a complete coincidence. https://www.nfpa.org/News-and-Research/Data-research-and-tools/US-Fire-Problem/Candle-fires Not trying to freak you out with this, but knowledge is power. There is a reason they say to treat unspent fireworks as still active, and the same goes with anything that has had a flame taken to it. It does not: But of course you're going to make up your own mind and decide for yourself. I'm going with the lack of proper evidence of it working.

First, >>>https://www.detroitgothic.net/forum/15-your-creations/ Second, this is great. It sounds very dated but that's what I like. It's also kind of all over the place but I like that too because ADHD (not that I don't appreciate things that just drone on either.) That's also only the first track? I'll have to listen to the rest of it and get back to you. Sorry it's taken so long. Still working on the credenza (the speakers are almost ready to put in!)

Show Me Your Favorite Accessories
Scary Guy replied to Queen of Foxes's topic in Fashion, Beauty and Costume.
I cannot imagine that is easy or practical. You just become living art? Maybe if someone is disabled/paralyzed but even then you can usually cut off the limb and get a prosthetic. This reminds me that I need to trim mine. Though they can be useful for things like when I get an itch, but after a while it just gets hard to type/use a touchscreen. -
At least you can smell it I guess? But that's nice of you in any case.

I had a friend who i took to different hospitals on many occasions. She had legitimate issues but then eventually became and addict. Unfortunately when they see tattoos or piercings or anything counter culture and they think it's just another addict. So they either turn you away or admit you for a little while to see what's going on before kicking you out. Pain management in this country is a joke, along with medical care in general. Unless it's something major or easily treatable they don't want to deal as there are too many other patients in the waiting room and they need beds. Anyway I guess the trick is to ask for non opioid pain killers when offered.

Honestly with all those issues that I've read in the thread have you checked into SSI? Sounds like you'd probably qualify. Though I guess that thirst for money is there, but that usually requires trading a bit of sanity to get. Personally I'd rather be happy than rich, but I'll settle for comfortable I guess. Also money doesn't buy happiness but it buys a lot of other things which can help distract you from whatever sadness/depression that may exist. Anyway best of luck. I hope you feel better too. Getting old often means collecting medical issues like Beanie Babies or Hummles something. Which if anyone actually knows what those are they probably have. I probably should go to the doctor, but I figure if I ignore things long enough eventually I won't have to worry about it anymore.
