  1. this is flat-out bullshit. nobody has ever been banned or put on mod preview for dissenting opinions. it's the method of stating that opinion that gets people in trouble. anyone is free to express any opinion they want here; in fact, that's encouraged. the second it goes from stating an opinion to being disrespectful of others, or insulting them, that's when previews can happen.
  2. know what i think would solve this? removing the term "marriage" from the governmental portion of this. legally, everyone should have a "civil union". if they then want to have a "marriage" ceremony in accordance with their religious beliefs, they can do that on their own, but that shouldn't be a part of the legal process seriously, this wouldn't be an issue if the "man/woman" union was called a civil union as well, because then there wouldn't be any differences, and therefore no basis for an argument.
  3. i'm thinking that heavy bench press two days in a row was a horrible idea - my fucking shoulders are killing me!
  4. i'm thinking that i need a beer or 3...
  5. i'm thinking, "if i'm so fucking tired, why am i not in fucking bed already?"
  6. hey, rock - some guys, they just hate for no reason...
  7. disappointed in myself for taking so long to get started on my workout tonight. on the plus side, at least i got a bunch of stuff grilled for lunches!
  8. fyi - name of that song is "feuer frei"...
  9. i had three years of spanish in high school. i can recognize and comprehend most of it, but can't really speak it well anymore. also speak semi-fluent german. (same thing, i understand far more than i can speak.) beyond that, i know a few basic phrases from several languages; japanese, tagalog, french, korean; but rarely use them. i've found that learning one really helps with learning more - for instance, spanish/portuguese/italian are very similar, as are french/german/english (to me).
  10. and you can't legislate people un-stupid, so again, what's the diff. between phones, radios/cds/mp3s, gps, mcdonalds, etc. you will never, ever, legislate distracted driving out of existence, and to me, to highlight one reason while ignoring so many others is a waste of time. remember, they had the same complaint about radios being in cars when they were first introduced. i do agree that texting should be illegal, because it requires extended focus on the phone screen, and complex mental function to write. talking on the phone? no different to me than talking to a passenger in the back seat. anyway, i'm used to being disagreed with on this topic!
  11. i know, but in my opinion it's a faulty premise. if driving gets hectic, people can just set the phone down or hang up, there's no reason they have to continue talking, which is something they required for the mythbusters testing.
  12. hypothetically speaking, i think it would be cool as hell if the large hadron collider actually created a black hole that eventually swallowed the earth!
  13. i'm thinking that this night was entirely too short. i'm also thinking that most of these nights end up being too short...
  14. there's actually another theory that doesn't include dark matter at all. (whole article at link above...)
  15. made it out to this night, and met big freaky - great meeting you, man! thanks for the tour! also met the owner mark, the mc, dillinger, dj j-dub (nice work!) also was introduced to a guy who's name escapes me, but was with pend suspension, and met paul from collective studios. really cool to see so many people there for it only being your 5th week! the building is awesome - great vibe, great decoration, lot of personality! loved the upper deck, wish it would have been open. daredevil dolls were sweet too! gotta dig fire-dancing! overall, great night, great crowd, great bartenders. if you're on the west side of the state, i really recommend coming out!
