I know what you mean, at this rate I might be up until 2... ... PM!

I'm strongly thinking PCLinuxOS, though I'm currently on Regolith (Ubuntu) mainly so I can use dumb PPAs and I think Steam / the Valve Index might like it better. But it looks very comfy too and SystemDicks can go fuck itself.

I swear I'll get to it today (five days later.) Two of the screws were stuck together at the heads and now I need to dig for a replacement at the correct thread pitch, size, and spacing. I also need to take a photo to leave on the Amazon review.

Love is a mental disorder, especially if it is unrequited. There is this thing called The Triangular Theory of Love which states that for true love you need all the sides to be complete. I could explain it more but then why would I bother to link it just go read it damnit. Anyway figure out which sides still exist at all and work on those, then work on rebuilding the others if possible. The funny thing about love is I don't think it ever truly goes away, unless they never loved you to begin with. True love never completely dies IMO, but it can be mostly dead. Also slightly off topic, but are you related to any of these folks?

If you ever get a chance I recommend the Ghost Bar in The Whitney. I only went once years ago when the TST and another group had an afterparty there. Really nice venue that I'm surprised even let me in the door. I'd hang out there all the time if I had the cash to do so. I hope it stays nice but I've seen what the general public can do to places over time :(

As far as actually staying on topic goes here are my thoughts on that. The natural order of things is to evolve, and conversations will evolve over time like a game of telephone. Restricting where ideas go and how they evolve has never really worked out well and it's useless to police it. However, there is a bit of netiquette (it's even in the RFC) to try to stay on topic. I do think splitting off topic conversations into their own threads is fine too. But in the end everyone is free to run their communities how they like and as they see fit.

I hear ya. One of my best friends whom I've known for about 20 years now is married to someone very similar and he just suffers every day (some worse than others) for his kid. All you can do is gather evidence for the impending divorce. But the main problem is we get ourselves into situations because we fool ourselves into thinking we love them and that there is reciprocation there. Sure maybe at one time in history there was, but that's exactly what it is is history. Better days in the past, and you can work on trying to make the future better but if someone gets in a mode of thinking it can be really hard to get them out of it. She's decided she wants to be miserable and so she is. The real question is what would make life suck less for her? The answer is probably medication and therapy. I was in love with a narcissistic sociopathological liar and it took me way too long to see that for what it was. But any relationship is like a machine, and it must be maintained or else it will break down. It could just randomly breakdown anyway throwing a fucking rod or something and all you can do is hope it doesn't take you out with it. Life as always is not easy, not fair, and very complicated. If you're lucky you can find a way to cheat the system to make it suck slightly less though. We're not exactly meant to be happy but that doesn't mean we have to be miserable either (unless the brain's chemistry deems it so.) I hope things get better for you all one way or another.

Oh wow, that's cool! Oh wow, that sucks :( Oh wow, that's... good? Finally, that's good to hear. One day at a time as they say.

I'm about to shut down to install some computer hardware upgrades. I may or may not hop distros during this process too.

Oof, well I hope the state pays you for that like it does Stu. I also hope she's okay.

Almost sounds like you could use a study yourself, as you always seem to be tired lately. I hope you're okay and that it's not indicative of something more serious.

It really depends on the people though. If I could go back and kill Thomas Midgley Jr. that would be a great thing for everyone. If I had to choose between him and Hitler? Well at least we stopped Hitler. Was Ted right though? Was Lud? I still think we can fix this, but it's going to take a whole lot of work to do so. By this I mean technology, as the environment is doomed. The most we can do is make most of humanity's last years on this planet comfortable while it burns around us. -
Personally elimination > mitigation but it is what it is. At least it's not so severe we aren't completely nonfunctional.

It's generally really bad for the driver, and the environment. Though that could be debatable, since if both die you take out the carbon footprint of both a car and a human at the same time resulting in less climate damage... -

Yeah... Too bad I don't really believe in property theft though either (unless it's a survival thing.) As far as converting to electric... there are issues with heat and batteries exploding. I'm holding off on electric until they can figure out how to solve this issue. Right now the only solution is to just let it burn itself out since there's no easy way to stop it. -
So you ride horseback and rob travelers heading west then? :P Also I had this thought: "What if they're riding back east though boss?" "I said ONLY heading west!"

I don't even want to be a passenger though, I want to be an OWNER again. Maybe after my father dies if I'm dumb enough. Because I admit that owning one is retarded as hell. Shitty gas mileage (so it's expensive and bad for the environment,) hard to park (and apparently some lots won't let you park because "no limos,") large turn radius, tiny mirrors so seeing behind you is really difficult. At the same time it gets you lots of attention, and while some of it is negative most of it was overwhelmingly positive. I always loved talking about it. I remember being in my mid-late 20's and going with my old friend Brant to the mall and after we got out of Saw IV running into some kids who thought I was cool as shit. One girl said nothing but had the most awestruck look on her face. Had a fun conversation and I took them outside to check it out. I was a rock star for a very short time, not that it's hard to impress a bunch of dumb kids who haven't had life kick them in the teeth enough yet. I hope they formed a goth gang or something. I remember taking the casket out and using it as my DJ table in the City Club ballroom. I remember just taking it out and putting it in front of The Casket Bastards as they played that Chopper Show at the old State Fairgrounds. It honestly opened a lot of doors for me too and I met a lot of cool people. I think that was well worth the issues I had with both of them. -
Are we talking about the motorcycle gan... club, or the musical group? :P I'm just kidding, every time I've dealt with them (I used to DJ and run sound for the Vigilante's and they'd usually attend the parties) they've been pretty rock solid guys.
