The official low-down: City club will be open, as will the other two floors (54 and Lab). $8.00 per person gets you into all three areas.

There were signs up last night saying that evening is also "flash for beads". Whatever. I hope that's an attempt to get drunk tourists to make total asses of themselves. :doh

Friday, February 3rd is a special fetish show of some kind at the Labyrinth. Entry at the door is $25.00, but pre-sale tickets are $10.00. At this point, I don't know how you'd get pre-sale tickets, unless the lab is open Wednesday.

(I saw this information on flyers around CC last night. If I misread anything, do correct me.)

Unless mods have objections, this is probably a good place to post "are you going".

Jon and I will be skipping it. Don't care to pay the extra $$, as the most interesting part of going to all three floors on New Years' Eve was being able to see some of the Ramada architecture. And Jon has the pager again, so we're taking the opportunity to save some $ and do some relaxing.

I assume parking will be a bitch, too.

Another reason not to go: NO street parking.

Also, you should know that parking prices are estimated to be between $25 and $100 for parking this weekend.  No, this isn't a joke... its the NFL Superbowl and everything is going to overpriced. My advice - stay away this weekend.

i'll be trying to get there for sure. get me a superbowl xl shirt to were to the club.

there will be plenty to do in detroit besides the club. wish i could get those snoop dog tickets for sat at ol tiger stadium. or is it friday. thats close to the ramada wich i'm sure is booked. all those people.

gatta get a good tourist disguise to blend in. thats for sure a full house regulars or not. supposed to snow to. damn i need a good time this weakend and i'm sure to have several backup plans. if anything at least i'm determined to party.

That was before I knew they were upping the price...and I don't want to deal with the parking situation. Besides, there will probably be tons of idiots there that I really don't want to deal with - last weekend was bad enough...it will be worse this weekend, I'm sure. Super Bowl can eat shit and die.

as opposed to the dozens of orcas, that run around every other saturday, with their blindingly pale bellies giving people the heeby jeebies?

and no, maybe i'll watch a movie or something at home, or even the game.. or just read a book... but not this weekend.

Man I figured it could be bad this weekend but not that bad.. I need to re-think my plans for coming out there this weekend.

Someone said no street parking, I assume that's because there won't be any room left or are they not allowing people to park on certain streets for the event?

Wonder if it will do any good to get to the club 45 minutes before it opens, maybe I'll get a spot then? What do you guys think? I really need some CC time, it's been about 2 months since I've been out there.

Well I'm not sure yet, as of right now I plan on going, but I'm not paying 25-100 bucks to park my fuckin car for 5 hours. I'll park it 4 blocks away if I have to.

      Just because you can make an almost infinite amount of tracks doesn't mean you have to use them all.  "Less is more" in many cases.  Some of the best tracks are only four pieces (drums, bass, guitar, guitar/piano.) That said V3 is probably my favorite.  Things are spread out more and the timing seems better, even though it does have twice as many tracks on it as V1. I'd take some of the parts and split them off into other tracks, or have the track morph into them later on in the track, spread things out more. But of course others may have different opinions on it.

      Yeah, had I not been an only child I probably still wouldn't care.  I've never really been one for "you're supposed to do this." But it's also hard to speak in "what ifs" too.  Maybe it'd have made me more responsible, or maybe I'd have literally killed everyone over the stress and aggravation. I still get that younger helping folks thing.  Recently an Arab kid (23) came to an Atheist meetup and I've been talking to him.  Mental issues and a bad family life where no one really understands him or even tries to do not make for a great time.  He found drugs and trouble with the law.  A story all too common these days.  I do what I can to help him out though with advice, though we really only talk over the phone.  He introduced me to a friend of his too who was waking up from religion and also had some questions about evolution. He called me his white dad, which I know was hyperbole but it was still a nice compliment.  As long as he doesn't beg me for money I guess I don't mind.

      I never really got into this one. Just as "Every Day is Halloween," every day is also World Goth Day. Still, any excuse to throw a party I guess.  But if it's a day that ends in y that's always been enough of an excuse for me.
