Helena - The Misfits

If I cut off your arms and cut off

your legs Would you still love me

anyway? If you're bound and

you're gagged, draped and

displayed Would you still love me

anyway? Cutting with the knife

blood is spilling everywhere She

will be my wife Secondary spine,

incisions must be accrute I know

just what to do My hands are

trembing I can't spare to slip up

with this knife Her beauty so

illogical The beast come gliding in

Hideous chameleon stripped down

to her skin Dance to the burning

flame Pleasure exhumes the pain

The night bursts into flames Dance

Helena Dance If I cut off your

arms and I cut off your legs would

you still love me anyway? There's

a spot on the floor where your

limbs used to be and I close the

door on my Fantasies Why don't

you love me anyway? Helena!

Human Behavior

If you ever get close to a human

And human behavior

Be ready to get confused

There's definitely, definitely, definitely no logic

To human behavior

But yet so, yet so irresistible

And there's no map

They're terribly moody

And human behavior

Then all of a sudden turn happy

But, oh, to get involved in the exchange

Of human emotions is ever so, ever so satisfying

Oh oh, and there's no map

Human behavior, human

Human, human behavior, human

Human, human behavior, human

Human behavior, human

And there's no map

And a compass

Wouldn't help at all

Human behavior If you ever get close to a human

And human behavior

Be ready to get confused

There's definitely, definitely, definitely no logic

To human behavior

But yet so, yet so irresistible

And there's no map

They're terribly moody

And human behavior

Human behavior, human,

Human behavior

Human, human

Human behavior

Human.

There's definitely, definitely, definitely no logic

Human, human, human, human., human, human

Human behavior, human,

Human behavior, human,

Human behavior

There's definitely, definitely, definitely no logic

Human, human

Human behavior

Human.

There's definitely, definitely, definitely no logic

Human, human, human, human.

David Bowie

Goodbye love

Didnt know what time it was the lights were low oh how

I leaned back on my radio oh oh

Some cat was layin down some rock n roll lotta soul, he said

Then the loud sound did seem to fade a ade

Came back like a slow voice on a wave of phase ha hase

That werent no d.j. that was hazy cosmic jive

Theres a starman waiting in the sky

Hed like to come and meet us

But he thinks hed blow our minds

Theres a starman waiting in the sky

Hes told us not to blow it

Cause he knows its all worthwhile

He told me:

Let the children lose it

Let the children use it

Let all the children boogie

I had to phone someone so I picked on you ho ho

Hey, thats far out so you heard him too! o o

Switch on the tv we may pick him up on channel two

Look out your window I can see his light a ight

If we can sparkle he may land tonight a ight

Dont tell your poppa or hell get us locked up in fright

Theres a starman waiting in the sky

Hed like to come and meet us

But he thinks hed blow our minds

Theres a starman waiting in the sky

Hes told us not to blow it

Cause he knows its all worthwhile

He told me:

Let the children lose it

Let the children use it

Let all the children boogie

Starman waiting in the sky

WOW...just wow. This thread so totally proves that, ironically enough, there are no actual goth/industrial people on detroitGOTHIC.net

And I'll be first to say that Skinny Puppy - Worlock blows any of the entries in the previous posts out of the water :tongue: due to the fact that it's actually industrial.

I think I've got a Goth tune that fits the thread title...

Cuts You Up

Peter Murphy

I find you in the morning

After dreams of distant signs

You pour yourself over me

Like the sun through the blinds

You lift me up

And get me out

Keep me walking

But never shout

Hold the secret close

I hear you say

You know the way

It throws about

It takes you in

And spits you out

It spits you out

When you desire

To conquer it

To feel you're higher

To follow it

You must be clean

With mistakes

That you do mean

Move the heart

Switch the pace

Look for what seems out of place

On and on it goes

Calling like a distant wind

Through the zero hour we'll walk

Cut the thick and break the thin

No sound to break no moment clear

When all the doubts are crystal clear

Crashing hard into the secret wind

You know the way

It twists and turns

Changing colour

Spinning yarns

You know the way

It leaves you dry

It cuts you up

It takes you high

You know the way

It's painted gold

Is it honey

Is it gold

You know the way

It throws about

It takes you in

And spits you out

You know the way

It throws about

It takes you in

And spits you out

It spits you out

When you desire

To conquer it

To feel you're higher

To follow it

You must be clean

With mistakes

That you do mean

Move the heart

Switch the pace

Look for what

Seems out of place

It's o.k.

It goes this way

The line it twists

It twists away

Cuts you up

and spits you out

Keeps you walking

But never shout

Garden Party

Rick Nelson

I went to a garden party to reminisce with my old friends

A chance to share old memories and play our songs again

When I got to the garden party, they all knew my name

No one recognized me, I didn't look the same

CHORUS

But it's all right now, I learned my lesson well.

You see, ya can't please everyone, so ya got to please yourself

People came from miles around, everyone was there

Yoko brought her walrus, there was magic in the air

'n' over in the corner, much to my surprise

Mr. Hughes hid in Dylan's shoes wearing his disguise

CHORUS

lott-in-dah-dah-dah, lot-in-dah-dah-dah

Played them all the old songs, thought that's why they came

No one heard the music, we didn't look the same

I said hello to "Mary Lou", she belongs to me

When I sang a song about a honky-tonk, it was time to leave

CHORUS

lot-dah-dah-dah (lot-dah-dah-dah)

lot-in-dah-dah-dah

Someone opened up a closet door and out stepped Johnny B. Goode

Playing guitar like a-ringin' a bell and lookin' like he should

If you gotta play at garden parties, I wish you a lotta luck

But if memories were all I sang, I rather drive a truck

CHORUS

lot-dah-dah-dah (lot-dah-dah-dah)

lot-in-dah-dah-dah

'n' it's all right now, learned my lesson well

You see, ya can't please everyone, so you got to please yourself

Go!

By Tones on Tail

Ya ya ya ya ya ya yayaya

Ya ya ya ya ya ya yayaya

Ya ya ya ya ya ya yayaya

Ya ya ya ya ya ya yayaya

GO!

Living it up.

Ya ya ya ya ya ya yayaya

Ya ya ya ya ya ya yayaya

Ya ya ya ya ya ya yayaya

Ya ya ya ya ya ya yayaya

Living it up.

Living it up.

Living it up. It's a big kick

It's good for you

Watch the big freeze slip

Crack the jackpot, get out of control

If you put yourself down

You'll never win, get out of that hole

Keep your mind open, your head up

You'll never ever get old

Ya ya ya ya ya ya yayaya

Ya ya ya ya ya ya yayaya

Ya ya ya ya ya ya yayaya

Ya ya ya ya ya ya yayaya

GO!

Your whole world could change

If only you just broke through

Through the fears inside your head

'cause your fears are doing

nothing for you

Keep your head up, your mind open

You'll always come through

'cause living it up, it's a big deal

It's good for you

Swap your dull grey thoughts

For fierce demands you can stand up to

Don't put yourself down, you'll never win

So let's all smash through

Through the fear of being real

Through the fear of being really you

'cause living it up, it's a big deal

It's good for you

Ya ya ya ya ya ya yayaya

Ya ya ya ya ya ya yayaya

Ya ya ya ya ya ya yayaya

Ya ya ya ya ya ya yayaya

Living it up. It's a big kick

It's good for you

Living it up. It's a big kick

It's good for you

Living it up. It's a big kick

It's good for you

Living it up. It's a big kick

It's good for you

Marian - Sisters of Mercy

In a sea of faces, in a sea of doubt

In this cruel place your voice above the maelstrom

In the wake of this ship of fools I'm falling further down

If you can see me, Marian, reach out and take me home.....

CHORUS

I hear you calling Marian

Across the water, across the wave

I hear you calling Marian

Can you hear me calling you to

Save me, save me, save me from the

Grave...

Marian

Marian, there's a weight above me

And the pressure is all too strong

To breathe deep

Breathe long and hard

To take the water down and go to sleep

To sink still further

Beneath the fatal wave

Marian I think I'm drowning

This sea is killing me

CHORUS

Was ich kann und was ich konnte (What I can do and what I could do)

Weiss ich gar nicht mehr (I just don't know anymore)

Gib mir wieder etwas schoenes (Give me something beautiful again)

Zieh mich aus dem meer (Drag me from the sea)

Ich hoere dich rufen Marian (I hear you calling Marian)

Kannst du mich schreien hoeren (Can you hear me calling?)

Ich bin hier allein (I am here alone)

Ich hoere dich rufen Marian (I hear you calling Marian)

Ohne deine hilfe verliere ich mich in diesem ort(Without your help I am lost

in this place)

CHORUS(repeat Marian til end

I'm Going Hungry - Pearl Jam

Well, I don't mind stealin' bread

From the mouths of decadence -

But I can't feed on the powerless

When my cup's already over-filled....

Yeah...

But it's on the table, the fire's cookin';

And the farmin' babies of the slaves are workin'.

Blood is on the table and the mouths are chokin'...

But I'm goin' hungry.

I don't mind stealing bread

From the mouths of decadence;

But I can't feed on the powerless

When my cup's already over-filled....mmmhmm....

But it's on the table, the fire's cookin';

And the farmin' babies of the slaves are a'workin'.

And it's on the table, the mouths are chokin'...

But I'm goin' hungry.

I'm goin' hungry, yeah...(4X)

I'm goin' hungry, yeah...(2X)

Yeah, I don't mind stealin' bread...ooooooo......

I don't mind...

I don't mind stealin' bread...yeah.....

I'm goin' hungry, yeah....(2X)

Oooh... bunches.

From a pure musical place... there is Fuminshou No Nemurihime aka HIME by Miyavi. This song was a revelation to me. I had hovering around the Jrock scene until I heard this song. It pulled me in hook line and sinker. Heres to you Miyavi... you crazy futher mucker.

Another musical piece is the entire Rock Opera War of the Worlds. Yeah... never heard of it? It's real. Came outa the late 70s. Yeah disco drums backing the rhythms. But it still kicks ass. But it didn't end there. The 90s came around and the techno crowd got ahold of it and remixed the entire thing.

Ulludubulla took the original and passed the parts out to various techno artists of the day and had them do their own takes on the work. Not only is it a great album but its a great cross section of the techo artists of the late 90s.

I have to give credit to the composer that truly woke me to music in the first place. I had spent most of my life playing music (guitar and drums). But I had never really felt it. It had always been just something I was doing. Then I heard Bach. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x1Vm6_mn4ME. Things changed.

For a while I turned into a classical music snob. It was the early 80s. Other music started creeping in that caught my attention such as Bowie (how could he not) and others. But then I heard a sound unline anything else I had ever heard before. Yet at the same time it was made up of sounds I heard all the time (except the chain saws, no one but a lumber jack hears chain saws all the time.

by The Art of Noise was my entry way into the alternative/punk movement (also my introduction to City Club).

The next song/band I want to give a nod to was the one that lit me up to the early Goth movement. This band matched my mood and usual state of mind on a regular basis. But This Corrosion by Sisters of Mercy nailed it to the wall and left its bloody corpse there forever.

Philosophically (I think of myself as a stand up philosopher) I have yet to find a song that matches me as well as

by XTC. I am an atheist and while the song does not reflect the arguments or sentiment I have on the matter its the closest thing I expect to ever hear on the matter. I think of it as my theme song when doing battle in the trenches that make up the nets various religious debate forums.

If I think of any others I will post them up.

The Clash

If you can play on the fiddle

Hows about a british jig and reel?

As railhead towns feel

the steel mills rust

In the generation

Clear as winter ice

This is your paradise

There aint no need for ya

There aint no need for ya

Go straight to hell boys

Go straight to hell boys

Wanna join in a chorus

Of the Amerasian blues?

When its Christmas

out in ho chi minh

Kiddie say papa papa papa papa-san take me home

See me got

photo photoPhotograph of you

Mamma mamma mamma-san

Of you and mamma mamma mamma-san

Lemme tell ya bout your blood bamboo kid.

It aint coca-cola its rice.

Go straight to hell boys

Go straight to hell boy

Go straight to hell boys

Go straight to hell boy

Oh papa-san

Oh papa-san

Everybody they wanna go home

So mamma-san says

You wanna play mind-crazed banjo

On the druggy-drag ragtime u.s.a.?

In parkland international

Hah! junkiedom u.s.a.

Where procaine proves the purest rock man groove

And rat poison

The volatile molatov says-

Straight to hell

Can you really cough it up loud and strong

The immigrants

Any hemisphere

Mother by PF

Mother, do you think theyll drop the bomb?

Mother, do you think theyll like this song?

Mother, do you think theyll try to break my balls?

Ooooowaa mother, should I build a wall?

Mother, should I run for president?

Mother, should I trust the government?

Mother, will they put me in the firing line?

Ooooowaa is it just a waste of time?

Hush, my baby. baby, dont you cry.

Mommas gonna make all of your nightmares come true.

Mommas gonna put all of her fears into you.

Mommas gonna keep you right here under her wing.

She wont let you fly, but she might let you sing.

Mommas gonna keep baby cozy and warm.

Oooo babe.

Oooo babe.

Ooo babe, of course mommas gonna help build a wall.

Mother, do you think shes good enough,

For me?

Mother, do you think shes dangerous,

To me?

Mother will she tear your little boy apart?

Ooooowaa mother, will she break my heart?

Hush, my baby. baby, dont you cry.

Mommas gonna check out all your girlfriends for you.

Momma wont let anyone dirty get through.

Mommas gonna wait up until you get in.

Momma will always find out where youve been.

Mommas gonna keep baby healthy and clean.

Oooo babe.

Oooo babe.

Ooo babe, youll always be baby to me.

Mother, did it need to be so high?

Anybody on this board who isn't transported by the Toccata and Fugue in D minor seriously needs to reexamine the scene he's in.

Breath

I brought you something close to me,

Left for something you see though your here.

You haunt my dreams

Theres nothing to do but believe,

Just believe.

Just breathe.

Another day, just believe,

Another day, just breathe

Another day, just believe,

Another day. just breathe.

Im used to it by now.

Another day, just believe.

Just breathe. just believe.

Just breathe.

Lying in my bed,

Another day, staring at the ceiling.

Just breathe. another day.

Another day, just believe.

Another day.

Im used to it by now.

Just breathe. just believe.

Just breathe. just believe.

DethKlok is ROCKING MY WORLD.

I love: better metal snake, Awaken, The Lost Vikings, Murmaider, Hatredcopter, bloodrocuted and thunderhorse.

Honsetly I have been watching this show for about two years and I wondered why I waited so long to make them one of my all time favs. I always used to say to myself I want to see a cartoon about a heavy metal band but here comes Dethklok a "DethMetal" band and I love it.

Such Awesomesness Im kinda pissed I missed their show in michigan but I will go to the next one.

Silent lucidity

Hush now dont cry

Wipe away the teardrop from your eye

Youre lying safe in bed

It was all a bad dream

Spinning in your head

Your mind tricked you to feel the pain

Of someone close to you leaving the game of life

So here it is, another chance

Wide awake you face the day

Your dream is over...or has it just begun?

Theres a place I like to hide

A doorway that I run to in the night

Relax child, you were there

But only didnt realize it and you were scared

Its a place where you will learn

To face your fears, retrace the tears

And ride the whims of your mind

Commanding in another world

Suddenly, you hear and see

This magic new dimension

Chorus

I-will be watching over you

I-am gonna help you see it through

I-will protect you in the night

I-am smiling next to you...in silent lucidity

If you open your mind for me

You wont rely on open eyes to see

The walls you built within

Come tumblng down, and a new world will begin

Living twice at once you learn

Youre safe froom pain in the dream domain

A soul set free to fly

A round trip journey in your head

Master of illusion, can you realize

Your dreams alive, you can be the guide but...

Time

Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day

You fritter and waste the hours in an offhand way

Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town

Waiting for someone or something to show you the way

Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain

You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today

And then one day you find ten years have got behind you

No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

And you run and you run to catch up with the sun, but it's sinking

Racing around to come up behind you again

The sun is the same in a relative way, but you're older

Shorter of breath and one day closer to death

Every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time

Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines

Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way

The time has gone, the song is over, thought I'd something more to say

BREATHE REPRISE

Home, home again

I like to be here when I can

When I come home cold and tired

It’s good to warm my bones beside the fire

Far away across the field

The tolling of the iron bell

Calls the faithful to their knees

To hear the softly spoken magic spells.
