  1. I haven't laughed this hard in a long time.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J5z4Vs26-TI
  2. There is something a little creepy about 'body farms,' where anthropologists study human decay. A properly done live-action Gantz would be messed up to say the least. EDIT: I spoke too soon. Hopefully these will be decent and paced right. http://www.nipponcinema.com/blog/2-live-action-gantz-movies-coming-in-2011/
  3. If the gov had involvement with this Iranian nuclear scientist that was killed, then all I have to say is

  5. Sherlock Holmes. I thought it was getting weird at first but the end made it for me.. its still not up to par with such Victorian epics as The Count of Monte Christo and Billy Madison.
  6. I saw this awhile back, the 3D was really immersing. Though I think the plot and dialogue could have been better.
  7. "Dude, try these nachos."
  8. Baby steps... http://www.nytimes.com/aponline/2010/01/12/us/AP-US-Marijuana-Legalization.html?_r=1
  9. For larger scale generators there are some issues. I posted a list I've compiled awhile back: http://www.detroitgothic.net/index.php?showtopic=32058 --- Another interesting thing on the topic of finance is the US's Cash for Clunkers program was originally a Chinese program, China has been moving away from US currency, and China is in need of steel.
  10. I was looking into Wind Turbines awhile ago and compiled a list of stuff I found. This is for the large-scale turbines that are more likely to be a part of wind farms, I'm not sure how much smaller sizes would have the same effects. As more wind farms are probably going to be built, hopefully they can be built distanced enough from residential areas, but then there is still the bat problem. Windmill/Wind Turbine Explosion "The braking mechanism that limits the speed of the wind turbine broke during a storm in Denmark. This was the outcome. 02/22-2008. http://jp.dk/uknews/article1277616.ece Bonus info: -The tower of the mill was 60m high -Wind speed was probably around 30 m/s -You can see a truck at the base of the mill, but nobody was hurt. The mill had been evacuated 400m in each direction." --- Wind Turbine Syndrome Radio Interview - News Story - --- Wind Turbine Shadow Flicker and Noise, Byron Wisconsin --- The general consensus is that the death count for birds isn't that bad. But bats are another story as they are the first line of defense against mosquitoes. Whereas birds die from direct contact, bats die because the change in air pressure causes their lungs to explode. According to this discovery article its ten bats for every bird death caused by wind turbines. http://dsc.discovery.com/news/2008/08/25/wind-turbine-bats.html --- Turbine Ice/Snow Buildup
  11. Sadness, happiness, haziness, 'its gonna get late'-ness.
  12. Snow! Shovel! Go! (Because the alternative is washing dishes.)
  13. Finally have enough inspiration to break out the pots and pans again.
  14. COLLAPSE - Theatrical Movie Trailer, "Documentary Horror" Since seeing this documentary I've been doing research into its claims, mainly 'peak-resources,' climate change, and where the economy is going (bankruptcy). A famed analyst has predicted similar things to what's in this movie which is the first link below, the most notable to me being food shortage. Oil is a temporary resource (in how long it takes to be replenished), and the only thing that can power modern farming machinery; so along with climate change causing drought and flooding there exists the very real matter of food shortage happening eventually in the US. "The man who predicted the 1987 stock market crash and the fall of the Soviet Union is now forecasting revolution in America, food riots and tax rebellions - all within four years." http://www.commodityonline.com/news/Revolution-food-riots-in-America-by-2012-13062-3-1.html World food stocks dwindling rapidly, UN warns http://www.nytimes.com/2007/12/17/world/europe/17iht-food.html?pagewanted=1&_r=1 The most notable UN article excerpt: The recent scientific papers concluded that farmers could adjust to 1 degree Celsius (1.8 degrees Fahrenheit) to 3 degrees Celsius (5.4 degrees) of warming by switching to more resilient species, changing planting times, or storing water for irrigation, for example. But that after that, "all bets are off," said Francesco Tubiello, of Columbia University Earth Institute. "Many people assume that we will never have a problem with food production on a global scale, but there is a strong potential for negative surprises." I could add a lot more to this but wanted to summarize it.
  15. Learning gardening, canning, and anything else regarding self-sufficiency. Staying positive with other people, and calm and focused with myself.
  16. I wear black Wolverine work boots, but I might switch to real combats when they wear out. I don't care for club boots because the extravagance gets in the way of the literal a**-kicking potential of the boot. I'm more likely in club boots to run in the event of anything, including predetermination of an undetermined event. The ratio of a**es kicked + footsteps determines the overall "Boot Health." Edit: Mathematical revision.
  17. Cool. The hunters seemed to have slowed down from the first one where you had to kill them on sight or evade their pounces which was crazy, so they are less of a threat in the second game but new enemy additions make up for it. I remember having a lot of fun with the samurai sword, chainsaw, and grenade launcher. I'm also happy they included a magnum pistol and an ak47; reminds me of when I used to be in a Counter Strike: Condition Zero clan since its a reminiscent engine and weapons.
  18. I was playing bi-weekly 2nd edition DnD but the people didn't care enough to call me until they were repeatedly already playing the game, so I left that and do not want or enjoy anything to do with cards or board games at all, even under an influence. Booze games are a maybe as they are an influence, I don't like ones with cards though. I played and beat Donkey Kong Country 3 Co-Op with a friend earlier this month. Next time I hang out with him we're finishing up Donkey Kong Country 2 in Co-Op. I have yet to rent and beat Left 4 Dead 2 with him or my cousin-- Okami for Wii, the second Tales of Symphonia, No More Heroes, The New Super Mario Bros. with whoever else wants to play, and borrow and play through the two DS Zelda games. And lastly play Starcraft 2 which hopefully comes next year. I rarely play video-games, usually only with friends or if my brother is adamant on watching me beat something and I get sucked in.
  19. Something blunt and surrealist. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ydQfqqqQrD4
  20. I'm happy with the turnout of this picture. This was taken by a hobbyist friend of mine.
