Covenant :: MODERN RUIN:: N. American tour 2010
TheOsakaKoneko replied to DJ Saint's topic in Nightlife, Events & Concerts
Eh, I like costumes. But we all know I like clothes. I actually think they're improving...they're way better than at Funker Vogt and I think better than at D:Konstruct as well. Not my style still but steadily improving and I give them major props for that. -

Eh, I call fail on the DJ (Jinx?) - the same CD played 3 times on rotate throughout the night (I hear it was a Necto sampler CD given away at one of the nights at some point)? What gives...that's not DJing. It wasn't even long enough to last between the bands, and cycled through at least 3-4 of the songs in just that one "set"...and I heard they were playing the same CD before BMM went on as well. Kinda not all that cool, you know? Even if I do like most of the songs on it, once each is plenty in a 60-70 min period. -

I guess maybe it was just me, but I was kinda disappointed in the show...it kinda felt like the singer was just "phoning it in". I don't know...but for some reason it just kinda felt like he was singing like half the lyrics to an instrumental version of the backtrack. He seemed kinda...out of it? Apparently everyone else thought it was great though so it must have just been me. I was sad though because they are one of my favorite groups of all time so it was a very disappointing show for me T___T Anyone know the reason for the fire alarm before the show? -

Dammit totally wanna go to this but tooooo tired. I hope there is another one. I feel like such a loser for not going...would be a good chance to meet new people. But not many seem to be talkng about it, and I'm about to fall asleep sitting here, so it's probably not the best time...fuck. GAH. Funny the way it's worded on the Belmont site though - "celebrating the death of Ian Curtis"...wat? hahaha -

For them that dislike City Club...
TheOsakaKoneko replied to Troy Spiral's topic in Nightlife, Events & Concerts
Have to agree with this one.. T___T I have torn multiple dresses on wires, nails, etc hanging out of walls...and my dresses cost like $200-300. D:D: Not happy about that.. There's one nail (?) poking out of the inside of the outer door right where my hand grabs it when I open it from the outside to open it the rest of the way and I've scratched myself on it - if I hadn't had a tetanus shot when I cut my finger in Dec I'd have to get another. (Actually, really hoping someone will read this comment and fix that one right away - every time I open it I watch for that now but it's really unsafe and unnecessary.) EDIT: Just a clarification, I don't dislike City Club, though I dislike some things about it. In general I fucking love City, as everyone knows. But there are DEFINITELY areas in which it could use improvement. -
Pardon me for my own idiocy, but I guess I could have ended up the same way? I often sleep on the way home from the club, reclining the passenger seat. I've never considered the possibility of sliding out the back - I'm not driving, so I don't need to see out the windows or anything, and I lay back. I still have my seatbelt on and am in the chair properly, but it's reclined quite far. Is it that stupid that I've never considered that unsafe? I guess now I can see it, but I certainly never would have considered it. How are we supposed to know how far back is safe? Are we supposed to assume we need to sit at a completely upright angle? I'm not saying this is Hyundai's fault, by any means, because the same would go for any vehicle, but I also don't really see how the woman was being a moron for leaning back in her seat when she wasn't driving. And if that really is that unsafe, they should make it known or make you unable to put the seat back while it's driving.

Could only find one of my own masks so I'm making one for Riku now. Last minute shoppers, if you need a mask, I can make you one for the low low price of 1 drink! XD It's just simple and made out of a single layer of PVC with ribbon ties, nothing fancy. Also not sure exactly what time I'll get there, so... but anyway, just saying, if you want one let me know! I have black, white, and red. XDXD -

This one sounds fun! :D -
Fuck YEAH. This is the way I want to go out. Having lived a long and fulfilled life, death is not a sad thing but instead a celebration of an amazing life and amazing accomplishments. Can you imagine? Rather than a dark depressing funeral, a fucking party in the motherfucking STREETS. I watched this and literally tears came to my eyes. Fucking amazing. Fuck, tears came to my eyes as they sang "and did it my way"...fucking LOVE.

I don't have DDR and live further away but I wanna play too!! XD

Haha you only post the 2 of Riku and I here?!? haha :P Thank you sooooo much for taking that photo for me - I appreciate it soooo much! I get into the habit of not taking my camera cuz of City's rules and then hate when I don't have one when I do want one!! T__T You are awesome for that! I like this one, blurry though it is: -

Definitely not saying this to cast doubt on the blame this time laying with FATM (I'm sure everything said has been accurate and truthful), but at the same time I've actually to this point never seen a show at Smalls that didn't start almost an hour later than planned, and they usually don't end until almost 2am, even on Sunday nights. De/Vision / Seabound, Ayria/Cruxshadows...heck, didn't Gothsicles/Caustic also start really late? And even the D:K show last month? Can't think of what else I've seen there. FATM is surely at fault here as has been said, but Smalls is kinda known for this in general. I love that venue for almost everything but I hate when shows are there on weeknights because I know I won't get any sleep that night. Yet I'm also petrified of showing up too late in case it's like the ONE time they start on time, so I still end up arriving 1-2 hours before it starts. ::shrug:: oh well, it's always worth it and the shows are always great, and it's always cheap, so I'm not really complaining - I love Smalls for everything else. But whatever the reason, shows are ALWAYS late there. Apologies if I'm speaking too much in generalities and if this is not the case - if it's not, please tell me and I'll happily eat my words. But in my experience I can't think of a show I've seen there that started any semblance of on time. -

I keep trying to express with some small degree of coherence and dignity how amazing the show was, but I fear it's not possible...it was just too good. I think I can probably say with no lie that it was the best show I've seen since coming back from Japan. I've seen a lot of amazing shows, but...this was truly special. I was floored. I may have to rethink that statement later when I've recovered (I've been able to see so many great shows!), but I wouldn't be surprised if it stood as is. The music was, of course, impeccable, but not only that, the presentation, the SHOW...just amazing. I can't really speak too highly of the whole thing...by which I mean, it would be IMPOSSIBLE to speak TOO highly of the whole thing. Okay, okay, I know, but I warned you I wouldn't be coherent... Anyway... SQUEEEEEEE!! (Oh yeah and D:Konstruct was awesome of course as well, as usual!! Love you guys! The new songs were wonderful - can't wait for the new CD! I think that'll be the only thing to displace my new FATM CDs from constant rotation from now until then.
