1994.... I walked in as a frightened young 17 year old... I walk in to the club... I hear Skinny Puppy blairing.... I remember scaring fellow highschool students at parties by putting on Sp and writhing on the floor... I try it here... others join me.... I feel at home.... I get hit on by a gorgeous girl with a nose ring.... my friends get jealous... I am happy.

I came. I saw. I roasted my friggin' ass off. I hugged tons of people. I got my 3 small toes on my left foot stepped on by Paper Hearts, who was kind enough to guide me to the back area where there was a fan. He let me sit in front of the fan. I got a button from Phee, Satan from Meg, and gloves and a bracelet from kichijoten. She stepped on my cheap Target flip flop and broke it, leaving me to walk through God knows what with only one shoe.

Next time I come, I will hug tons of people again, wear closed-toed shoes so that Paul won't step on my toes. I miss you all, and can't wait to come back.

this was right before i started dying my hair all kinds of colors.

i loved it! i went out shortly there after and started buying club clothes! :laughing

It was 1998 on a Friday, and the day after my 18th birthday. I had just gotten my butterfly tattoo on my ass the day before, and I was still a bit sore. My friend and I got wasted in her car before we went in, and I remember freezing my ass off (it was February, and well, we know how CC is!). All I really remember was dancing almost the entire time, people watching, and just taking the whole place in. I was hooked from then on!

Amazingly enough, I can't remember the first time I went. I'm gonna guess it was sometime in fall or winter of 94. I remember the first time I was supposed to go to city club. I was supposed to meet some friends who had been going there, but they got arrested on the way to pick me up.

Late summer of '96. I came looking like a dark jock haha. Wore a long sleeved black long john shirt with a jean button down over it, jean pants, and nike high tops with a ball cap on. I also had on those fitness gloves that made me look either more like a badass or dumbass. Had on a long pewter dagger around my neck. While I was playing Tekken on the arcade machine, I heard some chic comment, "What the hell is he doing here?" and then I smiled and went to the dance floor to watch people dance all freaky on the floor. Took me 6 months of watching others before I realized that it didnt matter how you danced...it fit the style. I came, I saw, and I came back for almost every weekend for a few years after the first night.

Fall of 93 when I was 17. I went with my best friend, her older sister and roomates. They snuck me beer and drinks all night and I had a blast. I used to go frequently from 93-96, then stopped going for 4-5 years. I go a few times a year now, mostly on Friday nights except for special occasions *friend from out-of-town wants to go etc.*

i first went in 1993 (november or December).... I went to an INXS concert with some friends and then we tried to go to Industry... but they would not let one of my friends in .... he was probably not freaky enough or somthing... so then this girl we were with got on the payphone (before cellphones) and through her stripper connections she was able to find someone who knew someone who knew how to get to city club from the street corner we were standing on in Pontiac.... Alot of hiliarity ensued but by the end of the party, my japanese friend was passed out on the lawn, I was with the hot girl and my cool friend got the cute 16 year old redhead he had been obsessing over...

Spring 1995 I was 18 i wore a ribbed dark blue shirt and blue jeans i went with tow other virgins who are now not goth at all and laugh at the place, but any how i was amazed, i could not stop staring at every one, and i wanted more. this was the first club i have evey been in that i ever felt comfertable dancing and stuff as it did not matter how you danced no one really cared and if they did no one said anythng liek they did at other clubs. I saw a certian regular staple of CC get laid, we danced, we talked and we left cause i had like a midnight cerfew :erm

I have been going on and off since.

it was 1992, i just turned 18. i went with my friend heather and roxanne. roxanne was only 16 so i went in with heather, got heather's id.... went back out and came in again with roxanne. which is funny if you know them both. they look NOTHING a like. at all.

after that i started to go every friday and saturday for some time. even after the death of a family member and TWO traumatic experiences, i went those nights too. wow, i can't believe i was that hard core back then. although the one experience makes for a funny or at least interesting story after the fact. ;) about 1995 i stopped going for the most part (i had my son) and started going to 3 d's (luna) in royal oak instead, every tuesday. i actually didn't go at all for several years and then made it back one night about 3 years ago to meet some dgners ;).

I had just moved to Michigan, it was 2002. It was horrible! My friend and I got harassed on the way in, some girl tried to pick a fight with us for no reason, a bunch of guys started a huge fight and I got a half a pitcher of beer spilled on me. And they were playing death metal for some reason. I came home saying that is the dirtiest, smelliest, rudest club I have ever been to and I am never going back, and honestly it was almost a year before I gave it another chance. In retrospect it was just a really off night, and the grit has grown on me...somewhat.

My first time was in 2001 - I met up with my friend Mike and he took me there to meet up with a few of his buddies. I was a bit nervous cuz I wasn't to thrilled about going downtown and having to drive around it in the wee hours of the morning to get home, but I went in - seen a few other people I knew from back in the day and had so much fun! But during that night, I was talking to this chic Jeanie and we we're having a pretty serious conversation about how she went about going to school to do what she felt her life was made for and this girl she knew ran up and scared the shit out of me - yelling at her to "come do her in the bathroom" - I started crackin up when I seen she just needed help with her corset cuz I didn't know what to think at first~ As that year went on - I met a bunch of other kick ass individuals and for that - I'll always end up finding my way back there~

Sigh...

T'was the winter of 1988, that's right 'I said '88. I was the guest of my friend Mike, who's older brother DJed at City back in the 80's, I was awestruck, as anyone would be, getting patted down at the door, already tipsy from drinking two 40's, the place was filled with cigarette smoke (I'm not a smoker, so it was particularly nast to me at the time) and the entire place was abuzz and elbow to elbow with black clad freaks. And I loved it. I could hear the thumping of music as we headed to the DJ booth to meet my friend Mike's older brother, the DJ. We bumped into him as we got there and it wasn't his time to spin yet, so he dragged us out onto the dancefloor just as the chorus intro to "This Corrosion" by the Sisters Of Mercy was blaring. I was dumbfounded as that sonic chorus blared, strobe lights pierced the heavilly fogged air (They used to try and kill you with the smoke machines back in the day) above the dancefloor which was punctuated with the "floating skeletons" which you see in the bar area today. As I stumbled into the dancefloor, at least two hundred people packed the dancefloor to dance to, and sing along with the music. The Cure, New Order, Depeche Mode, and Bauhaus, and Killing Joke were all staples that night...

I've never been the same. And I like it that way.
