Motor City Nightmares

I've never bothered going.  When I had a hearse they invited our club out.  However gas was not cheap then, and a two-ton V8 powered car sucks for mileage.

They wanted us to help promote your convention with a hearse show and didn't even offer to give us anything in return.  Not even asking for payment for that, nor free admission!  Just comp our gas and I'd have been happy.  Anyway I'm done with greedy ass conventions.

Penguicon can suck a dick too.  I have a friend who is not only doing two panels and helping run the "Geeks with Guns" shoot, but he's also DJ'ing for them for the geek ball party thing.  I think he's FINALLY getting a discount after I don't know how long.  Fuck pay-to-play too.  On the plus side he'll get free exposure I guess, not that he needs it.

I mean yes, I get that it costs A LOT of money to put on a convention.  However the people helping you to run and promote it deserve a little something.  HauntCon was okay and I went with the haunted house I was working with.  I'm not sure I'd have been treated so well if I wasn't with them.  Also this wasn't a normal fun con, this was a business convention intended to show off new industry products to potential buyers.  Instead of paying money for speakers and presenters, people paid them money to be able to show off their wears.

I have a friend putting together the first Greatlakes Reason Fest right now.  She's charging I think $35 a ticket for a 3 day weekend.  The vendor fees are quite reasonable as well.  I'm looking forward to that one.
