It is connected to the rest of Detroit, Michigan by the MacArthur Bridge. It is the largest island city park in the United States and the third largest island in the Detroit River after Grosse Ile and Fighting Island. Been here my whole life and never knew that last sentence... Now it makes sense why the "powers that be" are using it as a bargaining chip...
