Vitaminwater Uncapped LIVE:

presents:

Dethlab :: Gluhufr :: DJ Saint

Dethlab

Detroit based Dethlab seeks to define "the new black" by connecting the dots between trends in music, fashion, design and culture:

Mashing Ballardian reality with a romance for the glory days of postpunk as well as the cyberpunk future promised by Blade Runner. Like a modern day mashup of McLaren and Westwood,

Dethlab are obsessive consumers, creators, and curators of all things dark, innovative, and beautiful -- often with tongue planted firmly in-cheek.

Dethlab has performed with The Prodigy, Gary Numan and Nitzer Ebb amongst others and members have even collaborated closely with indie-electronic label Ghostly International.

Gluhufr

Detroit based Gluhufr is a DJ whose sets tend to showcase a gritty industrial underbelly in the tradition of Kill Memory Crash, Nitzer Ebb, and Anthony Rother.

Expect hard-charging, full-blooded techno… but also expect the unexpected!

His opening set for Motor at the Works blew the roof off the place!

DJ Saint

Ann Arbor based DJ Saint is an industrial-noise music DJ who has spent nearly two decades spinning sets at numerous clubs

(City Club, Necto, Mephistos, Luna) throughout Michigan, as well as festivals all over the midwest and Canada.

He was the founder of the Struktur and Untergang dance nights in Ann Arbor and is currently resident for INDUSTRIAL Wednesdays at Mars Bar.

He has twice spun in 2004 and 2006 at the Infest music festival, the UKs premiere festival of electronic music.

He has travelled extensively as an opening DJ for TERRORFAKT and even performed with them in NYC at the Triton Festival and at Montreals Kinetik Festival.

DJ S@iN+ continues to mix the innovative pioneers with the progressive newcomers, the obscure with the recognizable

- all the while perpetually maintaining a technical and inventive rhythmic flow that makes his sets both danceable and emotionally moving.

I will be there!

I didnt get a chance to talk with the dethlab kids enough when I saw the mat Zola.

Cool! Really looking forward to this.

Let's hope some normal City Club/Necto goers jump at this opportunity for the night to explore a new venue and new music... for FREE.

I don't have enough good things to say about Dethlab. Terrific people. Creative, edgy, progressive, funny, uber smart, HUGE (and knowledgeable) music lovers and always working on a million projects it seems. Great people you should engage in conversation.

anyways, looking forward to this and I hope to see a LOT of people in attendance.

These events have a great concept behind them. I actually did one last Friday night! The fact that it is Free is a very cool thing as well.

The only complaints I heard were about parking (if you can't find (limited) street parking, there's a chance you'll get stuck paying $10 and up in one of the lots.) and drink prices/availability (some deemed the bar prices a bit higher than normal clubs, and they do not offer standard things like red bull, coke, sprite, etc: just vitamin water. I'm not even sure if they offer beer or not, I didn't see anyone drinking any.) Other than that, everyone who came last Friday had a great time! It's nice to see great local bands and artists being showcased!

Isn't it around Grand Circus Park?

We could just park in the Leland. It's not only within walking distance, but when everyone arrives for CC Friday night, they'll get excited and think I'm there. There should be a pop-up sign that says "Your Chernobyl is in another event".

That would be pretty damn funny.

Tonight should be alot of fun, really looking forward to hanging out with everyone tonight. I will see if I can grab anyone else to come out tonight as well :)

The Vitaminwater event was mighty fun. Gluhufrs set was tremendous and Dethlab just unleashed fury from the first track. Neat space, good people and HUGE thanks to the organizers as well as Dethlab for inviting me.

Here's my bit of the nights music...

This Morn Omina - N=FP

Download - Glassblower (re-mix)

Speedy J - Vopak

iVardensphere - Ancients

Cervello Elettronico - Drop the Bomb

Nitzer Ebb - Getting Closer (Blackstrobe mix)

Exzakt - Sub.sonic Bass

Monolith - Tekno Buddha

Radium - Big Noise

Also: Of all my several friends who came not a single one paid for parking and all managed to find spots no more than 3 blocks away. This even on a night when there was a Tigers game at nearby Comerica Park!

Being a 21+ event, alcoholic drinks were served. Got a large and (very strong) Jack and Coke for $7.00 which is comparably priced (even cheaper) to any other club around here.

Didn't see any Red Bull, and duhhhh probably wouldn't expect as much with this event being sponsored by Vitaminwater - which they gave away for FREE all night!

Certainly a fun night. I HIGHLY encourage you all to break away from your normal club/bar routines and start investigating and experiencing these other events/club nights taking place (often for FREE) around the City. New environments, music, people and more to experience. Some of you are missing out on really awesome things you'd most likely really really like.

Was very fun until I got sick (dont drink 4 vitamin waters in 2 hours)

and yea, did NOT have to pay for parking or cover charge. The venue was super cool, loved the art on the walls. Enjoyed everyones sets, even though I looked miserable from my tummy ache. LoL!
