DGN @ City Club, Saturday, December 19th.

400 Bagley Street

Downtown Detroit

You enter by going through an unmarked door on the First Street side of the Ramada Hotel building, located at 400 Bagley Street in downtown Detroit. The club is at the top of the stairwell. (see picture in the link above in the DGN calendar entry)

Come. Join us. Meet us. Hang out. We're not that scary in person, really.

Leland City Club

All are welcome. Come meet some of us weirdos.

Saturday nights from 10:00 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.

Alcoholic drinks until 2:00 a.m., pop and juices served all night.

Admission is $4

18 and up, 21 to drink with proper ID (no exceptions).

No drugs, weapons, chains or spikes.

We've had reports that the CC parking lot will not break bills larger than $10, so try to bring smaller bills with you.

In case you don't know the "DGN Corner" is to the right of the bar. Currently theres a table, pillar and long narrow wooden table, impossible to miss. Come say hello. If no one is there, stay there, they will show up.

For those who don't know, there are a lot of our people that have birthdays clustered around this night. At last count, about half a dozen of us are clustered within 7 days on either side of the 19th. Indeed, there are quite a few DGN birthdays in December, and a most (some do have families that know better,) December Babies know how rotten this time of the year is for us.

The December Babies for the most part, know the horror of their birthday being forgotten, pushed aside in lieu of the holidays. The promises of doing something elsewhere in the year for the birthdays that never come true. The dread of "combination gifts" (gifts that combine Christmas and their birthdays as one gift,) which for the most part, suck. Stink on ice. Blows major chunks.

(I mean, really? The family forgets my birthday because it is too close to a holiday, and everyone else gets theirs celebrated *and* christmas gifts? Please pardon me if I don't participate in the gift exchange.) Been there. Done that. Hate it with a passion. :dry:

So, in order to celebrate our mutual angst, this weekend all December Babies who are not otherwise occupied by family affairs or other events (and I know there are some excellent ones this weekend,) :thumbsup: come join us December Babies for a big double-flip-off for all those forgotten times and celebrate our birthdays with fun, friends, and some good times. For those that are fed up with the stresses of the holidays hubbub, come and vent with our gaggle of birthday celebrators.

Also, to this effect, I will be looking for a ride that can stay late.

Yays! :happy: Go! Go!

It will depend on how I'm feeling. I get REALLY depressed this time of year. I haven't been leaving the house, except to go to work, and even that has been a challenge. But, the depression hasn't been that bad this week, so there is a good chance that we are going :)

      Well apparently I had a sleep paralysis episode last night because he just told me that he had to wake me up because I was saying,  "help me, help me, I can't breathe" my mom used to hear me on the occasion I had one when she lived with me all the way through my bedroom door into the living room she was like freaked out at first I think. Anyway,  he was like, "I asked you if you were okay and you was just like,  "no, I wanted fruit and you wouldn't get me any" earlier yesterday I forgot my purse and we was walking to the store and I wanted fruit and would have paid him back IMMEDIATELY, whatever, that is whatever,  anyway I was kinda upset.

      Wow Instagram must think I need plastic surgery because everything that they show me was thigh lifts and tummy tucks 😢😭😪 leave me alone stupid shit. They know I'm old and that I watch too many DIY botox videos. I can't bring myself to do it, though. Wtf is wrong with me? 😭 I'm going to go do it!! I'm going to give myself a lip flip and everything!! I'll probably fucking paralyze my damn self. Br drooling and shit forever.

      Okay I'm sitting here looking at my degree plan online,  I thought I was supposed to be done next August but no it's next May. I have 2 classes starting this Summer and then all I will have left is 4 classes and two quarters of interning so I do fall this year 2 classes, than winter 1 class and start my internship and than start my 2nd internship in spring term with one class, which is an actually an elective,  so I need 2 required classes and two electives and the internship and will be done in May 26. Shit! No shit? I never thought I'd get the opportunity to go to grad school especially after all the shit the past 20 years I been dealing with but, fuckity fuck I may actually succeed in this shit. Damn, shit fuck dog. Well maybe I'll even quit cussing and shit one day before, idk 🤷‍♀️

      The poor lady across the hall is elderly and lives all alone. She has a cat at least one that I seen on her balcony (we had a staring contest) Anyway, the cat piss stench permeates all the way through the door into the hall and into our apartment.  It's so bad like concerningly so. She is very independent.  One day she was trying to get up the stairs with a couple bags and I offered to help but she thanked me very gratefully and said she was OK. I don't want to say anything about the smell and my bf is nose blind and only noticed because I pointed it out.  The smell though..I hate seeing elderly people who have noone😢
