TheOsakaKoneko
EDIT: There is no snow. But! I will be having a small get-together at my place on SATURDAY instead of the snowman party! (I'm sorry for people who can only make Friday, but since I wasn't planning to do it, it's now a last-minute thing, and I have to tidy up a bit first, so tomorrow's impossible!) We will just hang out and drink tea and such, so seriously it's not a big event, but anyone who is interested is more than welcome to come by! I'm thinking maybe around 5 or so, and we can hang out until people want to get ready for City. You're welcome to get ready from here and go from here or not. We will have nabe if the grocery down the way has nabe pots for sale tomorrow, or we will get pizza or something if not. Bringing snacks, etc, is very welcome but not mandatory. Bringing awesome music and/or movies, etc, awesome stuff to share and show is also very very welcome. But basically we'll just be hanging out. I feel kinda unsure about having an 'event' like this with nothing planned, but it could still be fun, right? But please don't expect it to be like an AWESOME PARTY because yeah, NOTHING is planned! Just a chance to sit around and hang out with DGNers and chat! Send me a PM if you want to come and I'll give you my address and phone number! :D People are welcome ANY TIME after 5 until City Club. Not too much earlier, but if you have other plans during that, you're welcome whenever you can come by. It's very casual and just open, so whenever you can come you are welcome! Hi guys! How are you enjoying this SNOW??? I am hating it for driving, and it's pretty much bugging the crap out of me. So I figured, it's time to turn the tables on that m-f-er. Hence... I want to have a snowman building party at my place! I'm thinking Jan 2 but maybe Jan 3 would be good too. Either way. I will supply lots of hot cocoa and different teas, and fudge, and chocolates, and whatnot. And lots of snow. There is a biiiig field by my building that would be pretty perfect I think. And there is certainly lots of snow!! I really really want to build snowmen! But I don't want to do it alone, I want you to come and help! We can take breaks and hang out and play in my closet (for any girls who wanna play lolita haha - I'm inviting a bunch of my lolita friends too) and listen to music and just have a good time. It'll be like a kinda housewarming party too, since I just moved here last month!! The one hitch is: my place is just a one-person 1 bedroom apartment... but it's like 850 sq ft and pretty big - more than enough space for like at least a dozen people to hang out for a few hours I think! (But maybe I'm used to Japan style closeness, but still!) But I have 2 sofas (so 5 seats there) and 4 dining room chairs, and a desk chair, so even without anyone on the floor there're 10 seats! (But space will be a little limited, and I have others coming too, so this isn't like a huge DGN event...just a small one? haha so don't worry if you can't make it!) I live in Farmington Hills, near the junction of 696 and 275.\ Who thinks they'd want to come? We can hang out until City if people want and then head over in a huge attack force, or people can go and do their own things...I care not. I don't mind if people wanna get ready here, but there might be a long time between one and the other since snowmen would be while it's still light out and then City's much later, but we could always go get dinner or throw on a movie or just chill (no pun intended). XD
taysteewonderbunny
Your pics don't show, but I'm plenty inspired anyway. I would love to join your snowmen party. May I bring a couple other (nice) people along? The 3rd would work better for me. I hope the snow is still around.

Actually, because of what I was saying with the space limitations, I'd like to limit it to people I've at least met once or twice (also as it's in my home and all)...if I had a house I would be totally open, but unless you want to spend the whole time outside, I'm not sure I have space for both my friends and their friends. I'm so sorry. D: You would be more than welcome, but people who I haven't met/aren't on DGN/don't go to City, etc, might be tough. I'm sorry. Eevee
Sounds like a ton of fun! The space issue is a problem...but its an amazing idea! I'd love to go, but I always have that ride issue, lol
Oh_My_Goth
Snow is too temperamental to plan ahead for snowman building.....it has to be the perfect temperature outside..... It's a spur of the moment kind of thing really.

Hmm...but I can't see it getting warm enough to melt it all before next week...if it did, I would be MORE than happy to have my event get ruined!! XD I've been gone away from snow for too long now maybe? I didn't know it was such a science... why does it have to be the right temperature? Besides just cold enough to have snow, that is? The snow so far all seems to be okay for snowman building, though to be honest I haven't tried... If it didn't work we could just let it degenerate into a snowball fight... (with some of you mischief-makers I feel like that's inevitable anyway.... )
Guest greyhalo
You have plenty of room for DGNers at your place. I had over a dozen of them in my 670 sq. ft. apt. last Monday after sushi. I also have 15 pets.

WHEE!!! :D:D:D Sorry I couldn't make it for that - I had to go home and be a pussy and sleep for work the next day. Wimp. XD Yeah, I'm hoping it'll be okay. But I'm also thinking probably 6 or so of the poofy girls will probably show, and we take up space with our inflated bottoms!! XD hahaha Plus a friend or two from City who aren't on DGN. So we'll be cozy!! But I think it'll be pretty kickass!

Msterbeau
I have my girls that weekend. If it's early enough I can come by with them for a while, if not, I can't go. :-( I'm off from today until the 8th, BTW.

Bernadette
Making snowangels, having a snowball/slush fight, or playing snow tag are all good options too! And you can bury someone in it too!

Well you can really only build snowmen in the daylight, so it would be early (at least, not night), so that shouldn't be a problem...I was thinking to start probably noonish. I bet you could get some awesome pictures. Then again, how much do the girls like being squished? XD Anyway you guys are more then welcome, assuming of course the girls are well-behaved. They aren't super young, right? I think I saw pictures of them putting them 10ish? Which would be fine. Little little ones are harder to control. Yep. She was right. I am sad... There is no snow! So there can be no snowmen! It is a sad thing!! I'm debating still perhaps having people over, maybe, but I haven't decided - I don't really have anything for us to do, and my new big monitor that would allow us to watch movies won't be here by then!! So yeah...anyway basically it's canceled. I'm sorry everyone!!!!!

TheOsakaKoneko
tea and cakes perhaps? I do have a lot of different teas, and hot chocolate...I made sure to for the snowmen party. I have a lot of chocolates... and I was going to make fudge... Cakes not so much. I was debating trying to get a nabe pot from the local japanese grocery (hoping they'd have a good one), but I've never been there so I don't know if they carry that type of thing. If they did I could make sukiyaki or shabu shabu or some other nabe. So we could still have a get-together. But it's less fun without the snowmen!! I don't know...would people still want to come just to hang out? (If I made the sukiyaki or whatever I wouldn't necessarily be opposed to people throwing in a five or so because the ingredients are ... a bit expensive. But that would probably be optional.)
