Goths and Tanning

Recommended Posts

i like the sun.. i like being warm... i tan outside and "fake and bake" as people call it.. to me nothing is better than being naked and warm... then again, i think all this is because i am from Alabama... i have always liked the heat and sun and being tan.. :grin

"These two things do not go togeather,

these two things do not belong"

(went through my mind as I read the topic)

Only time I see the sun is when I have to do something durring the day. Which is annoying when it happens but I avoid it as much as possible.

i'm not a goth but i play one online... but i do have that goth white skin all the goths are dying for.

i had never liked tanning cuz:

1. it is boring, 2. i get too hot, 3. it is terrible for your skin and i would mostly burn anyways or color oddly (my legs don't seem to want to color at all- while my face, arms, chest, back, stomach get pretty tan)

with all that said i found myself tanning this year at a booth. i loved it. it was so nice and warm and quiet in there. and i actually got *some* color and didn't mind it. i still think i could never lay out and tan in michigan though. too boring and too humid. and yeah i really don't want to look like leather one day or have skin cancer.

funny thing though when i lived in arizona in the months of june/july i laid out all the time. and it was 110+ degrees most of those days. humidity DOES make a difference. it was never humid there. i think the most humid it ever was was like 7 percent or something ridiculously low like that. always thought i hated the heat til i moved to arizona. i just hate the humidity.

I don't tan ... even if I wanted the most I would turn is a darker shade of white :cheerful I freckle and I don't want people to look for the constellations on my face ya know? People in college used to say you should go get a tan you're too white . . . hmmm I AM white and I hate the feeling of burned flesh OUCH!!! I've ended up in ER with severe 2nd degree sunburn... the sun is my enemy.

I went to a fake and bake and listened to Tripp on how long I should bake... ummmm HUGE mistake asking a black man how long to bake!!! Lmao omg my jeans felt like sand paper to my skin couldn't walk right. Oh I was hurtin!

Like everyone else here, I mostly burn and don't tan well.

I use SPF 45 sunblock. I also use a touch of tanning lotion below the knees. That area is SOOOOO white it's embarrassing! I don't wear shorts, just capris.

Tanning is bad whether it is real or artificial sunlight. I also think that fake tans are cheap looking. You can just tell when someone has a fake tan.

I cannot help but get tan. I grow my own herbs. Do not like the store bought stuff for magick as much.

I do have to stay healthy with excersise so I get some sun. However I am allergic to it and break out in a rash that itches and makes me tan in wierd little spots. Everyone in my family is sun allergic and we get melanoma's later in life. My dad is always having skin cancer patches burned off. That will be me in oh say....20-30 yrs. Use your sun screen kiddies!!!!

I tan off and on. I have been going for about 3 months now. I do not go alot though cuz I do not want to ruin my skin. I like to get that sun kissed look going. I tan well and don't really burn that much.

My skin has a better even tone especially on my face when I tan which means less makeup I have to wear. I never get pimples and I have ecema on my legs and when i tan it totally goes away.

My skin overall looks much better I think tan.

I agree with you, Aralis. I'm in the exact same boat. I'm Italian, German, and Irish. When I'm white, I'm white. When I get tan, I get almost black, and don't burn. It definitely keeps my skin clear of pimples and eczema. I also feel better when I do it. I don't feel so PMS-y. I also like that way it feels to lie in the tanning bed, naked.

i agree. i like the look of the "sun kissed" look but not that -i go tanning every day so i look like leather look-.

when i have color i think i over all look better and healthier. not that i really ever have color. ;) but when i do it does look better.

i don't have evenly nice pale skin either, which i like as well.

i would be content with either or - pale or color as long as my skin looked healthy and smooth.

i worked with a woman who had the most beautiful smooth brown skin. her skin looked just like silk. i told her all the time how beautiful her skin was. i am sure she thought i was a freak. :woot:

Oh my God....

I used to have a client who owned a tannign salon. She and her daughter used to come to the salon I worked in to get their hair and nails done. One day, they came in , and I was shocked. Their faces were SO leathery, I wanted to open their mouths and throw my keys and lipstick in them...

Only with my tongue.  :devil

On second thoughts...  a fine brush with heena or a water soluble paint might be an interesting proposition too....

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

both sound like a grand ole time if I do say so myself... and I do :innocent
