DGN @ City Club, Saturday, April 26th

Come. Join us. Meet us. Hang out. We're not that scary in person, really.

Leland City Club

400 Bagley Street

Downtown Detroit

You enter by going through an unmarked door on the First Street side of the Ramada Hotel building, located at 400 Bagley Street in downtown Detroit. The club is at the top of the stairwell. (see picture in the link above in the DGN calendar entry)

All are welcome. Come meet some of us weirdos.

Saturday nights from 10:00 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.

Alcoholic drinks until 2:00 a.m., pop and juices served all night.

Admission is $4

18 and up, 21 to drink with proper ID (no exceptions).

No drugs, weapons, chains or spikes.

We've had reports that the CC parking lot will not break $20 bills or larger, so try to bring smaller bills with you.

(The map isn't quite exact. The Ramada is located within the Bagley, 1st, Cass, Plaza Dr. block.)

In case you don't know the "DGN Corner" is to the right of the bar. Currently theres a table, pillar and long narrow wooden table, impossible to miss. Come say hello. If no one is there, stay there, they will show up.

If your NOT going this isnt the place to post about it.

If ARE going (or likely going) to CITY CLUB ON SATURDAY this is where you let us know and we encourage you to do so. Not about some other place, some other club or some other thing your doing instead.

Also folks remember, this is Exotica weekend..... this is what is posted on the city club website:

"Exotica will be taking place in city club, for those who do not want to go to Exotica for the weekend the Lab will be open. The Lab will be playing all the regular industrial music that city club plays friday and saturday night.

The DJ's for Exotica will be as follows

DJ Darks Choir

DJ Audio Flesh

DJ London Shadow

DJ Gothfather

DJ J9

DJ Alexi

DJ Phobos

and a couple others we havent confirmed yet.

the regular city club dj's will be welcome to play at the lab for the weekend.

also yes the price of Exotica will be higher than your usual price of $4

for those who do not want to pay the price the Lab will be open for only $4 "

How much is Exotica and what the hell is so "Exotica" about it? (I've never been)

If it's basically a...how do I put this tactfully...a Hoe Show (kidding, but fetish whatever, or girls in skimpy stuff. That's definately NOT what I wanna pay money to see) then I'm SO not there.

IF however, you guys tell me that it's bois in skimpy outfits, I may reconsider :whistle:.

I wouldn't go to the lab, period. So I guess I'm probably out again this weekend.

Phooie! The weekend I was finally going to drag my ass out to CC and I can't.

It is confusing. I can only go out 1 night a week and that is Saturdays. I want to make the most of my saturday night. I will be going to Luna & not City this week. This is a big change for me & I am not happy about it. This is what happens when you have no management & stupid promoters(exotica)running the show.

I'll get back to my normal routine next saturday & I will keep my fingers crossed. :happydance

ANYWAY...since I went to the exotica website and the clothes look really unoriginal/uncreative (at least in the runway shoots) and there's WAY more attractive "models" (*wink wink*) standing out on Michigan Ave who probably charge way less than cover will cost this weekend...I'm a definate pass. Even the scenery looked like something I could have thrown together when I was in my highschool drama class in under 30 minutes. I mean...talk about lack of effort.

I guess to give credit, there were a good amount of pretty girls on the exotica runway website....BUT notice how I said "girls"? Yeeeeah...definate DEFINATE pass. Like...they'd have to pay me to go.

Ever heard of male models? I mean...lookit Zoolander for crying-out-loud :tongue:! Don't tell me that "preppies" are more open-minded than goths...or I will seriously cry in my coffee.

Now I'm actually mad at CC, if that's possible. Can you technically be mad AT at a club? Hmmm *ponders*

You think they would have held Exotica in the Lab instead of CC because well...the Lab sucks anyways.

Have fun this weekend you guys, not only are you paying more to do so, but it's definately NOT my cup of tea, no-siree!

Edit: For the record, I must take back what I said about the male model thing. Upon researching the site a little I notice that there ARE boys...pretty naked might I add. So I guess that's pretty sweet, they're actually really hott. So I take that part back entirely. Still...seeing a bunch of chicks way skinnier/cuter than I am shaking their shit around would probably send me in a self-loathing rampage for about a week, so still, sitting this one out.

$30? That's pretty freakin' steep. I don't think I'm going to the expo, but my friends and I are planning on going to the club during regular hours. I'll keep everyone posted and let you know for sure if I'm going.

Exotica will be taking place inside City Club. I don't know whether or not the prices on the website are the correct prices, but I'm certain it's more than the $4 that most people are used to paying. I know that last weekend they were passing out flyers at the bar telling people that they could get tickets at the coat check for $5. I think at the door price will be $10, I don't know about Saturday and their masquerade ball thing... I have no clue where that is being held.

So is it $10 or $30?? LOL I'm in town this weekend and want to do something.... It's the last time I can go out in a month!! Dammit!! So tell me someone will be there for me to hang with!

I'm in for doing something, but $30 for CC! I don't think so. Perhaps there we can find something better to do this weekend.
