Igotta Pee
THAT'S RIGHT, BIA-TCHES!!!!! I will not be moved.....Even in rainbow tie-die.....I WILL NOT BE MOVED!!!!! I will start wearing pink POLO, with khaki capri pants..... OK, so I wouldn't really do that, but I don't believe that dressing up should be a rule...... That is Re-COCK-U-less!!!!! I dress up, when I feel dressy.....Down, when I feel messy I know some of the "Normals" look at us funny, and this place has always been a haven for many "Freaks".....So I understand why some may say that, but don't try to sound all fascist about it..... It makes outsiders feel special in some weird way just to be around such debauchery.....You can't take that away from people, that would be selfish.....Not to mention down right silly. wth......u tellem hunnie bunnie!!!!! damagedangel
i dont believe anyone mentioned playing ALL requests, but a good number should be played if they are made. goth dj's are partial jukeboxes (no disrespect).there's no skill/art in playing track to track via cd's or even worse using a laptop with programs like mixmeister or traktor that do the mixing for you. dj's in the "goth" scene need to make the crowd happy & also expose to them to new music to help the scene keep going. hence why a smart dj will throw a new/unknown track inbetween 2 well known/hits. anyone can buy/download the alpha matrix, metropolis, etc catalogs and play oontz all night. creating a balance is what not all can do. Ok seriously. Would you quit referring to them as "goth" dj's? Last saturday night 19 requests were played against 18 of the dj picked songs (I'm not including the songs that were played between 10-11 because rarely more than 10 people are there lol). And I would imagine that I'm even low on how many requests were played as J9 forgot to mark which ones were requests and I was making a low guestimate. In my opinion, that is a "good number" that was played. I have no knowledge what's in the dj booth there, perhaps dj moondancer can pipe in here, but I don't think that they're using a laptop with mixing programs. We don't spin from a laptop on Fridays but I do believe one of J9's new partners does not sure specifically but I think Elektrosonik mentioned somthing about someone using one. I think Saint has done it before too. If you want technicalities we have an old dual deck, 2 CDJ-200's (these are nice) and an old 4 channel mixer with a non-functioning cross fader (and you people thought you were at the rough end of the sound system). damagedangel
I think we all have to agree to disagree about the music. No one will ever be 100% happy on the music front. Let's recap here with things besides the music.. 1. Cleaner club -- yes, a little grime is just the flavor of city club, but it wouldn't hurt to get a proper cleaning crew in there 2. Drink prices that are reasonable and consistent. Peeps, make friends with your bartender, it works out in your favor. 3. Different tap option 4. Repair the benches 5. Better lighting on the floor? 6. Stop yelling/call off the beer nazis (I'm torn on this one, it's part of the charm lol) 7. Cover -- has been suggested to drop cover for 21+. Not sure if the management will ever be swayed on the cover charge (hell I doubt management will be swayed by any of this) but I think it would be easier to get the cover gone before midnight or something like that 8. Fix the plumbing issues 9. Fix the sound system, they're working on this one I believe 10. Heating/cooling 11. For me if you're going to have seating in there, make sure it's seating that people actually won't catch herpes from sitting on

GothicRavenGoddess (3)
i have two things to say: THEY TOOK OUT A SINK, AND FORGOT TO ADD A TOILET!!!! and yes, i'd so like my shoes not to melt, when i walk into City Club, and for the mysterious substance to not crystallize the bottom edges of my pants, and uh... yeah, the benches.. what everyone said about the benches... okay that was more than two... and if it means anything.. me likey the music! poo on you all!!!! Nienna
The heating / cooling thing would be paramont to me. I have a rather janky body and I'm VERY sensitive to extreme temperatures. That usually means I either forgo CC in the summers, or risk passing out. I know I'm not the only one.
Morbid Side
I've heard about the improvements from various sources. Is there anyway you can get some tilex up in there to remove the mold/mildew growing in the ceiling in the DGN corner by the bar? Last year I was there with friends and I noticed a nasty looking blob up on the ceiling that was dripping liquid onto us. I understand the place has been around since King Tut was throned, but any kind of mold especially black can be hazardous to health and possibly kill you. Stymie
I recall when I 1st started going to City. I heard it was a fetish club, some called it a Industrial club, others a goth club. Cuz well they play metal, industrial, ebm, gothic... If you do a dress code. What would it "really be!?" Some peoples fetish can be, Dressing as a Barbie Doll and look like some type of trash. Or the people that dress as babies (Not my thing but what ever) Or what about the "Furries?" Think of the Furries!! Don't forget some preps. Are bigger freaks then some tat, nails everywhere ppl I know. Book... cover... So don't be a racist. Yeah some come to point and laugh. So what. We do it to them too. And let them laugh. Who cares? Maybe I'll put on a banana suit do, the peanutbutter jelly time dance 1 would I be able to get in and 2 I would be laughing the whole time! Again think of the furries!! Cuz they are funny and cool!! Hellion
Of course you need to power sand the boogers off the bathroom walls.

I've not noticed this, maybe because I don't stand in one place for too long, but this is something that definitely needs to be taken care of!
