  1. Anything I can do to help for either, don't hesitate to ask. ❀️
  2. I still feel bad about that whole thing. Moe isn't everyone's "cup of tea," for sure, but I was a bit shocked by that whole dust-up. I also didn't see any way to fix it - the damage had been done. In any case, the discussion of having an east side gathering had been going on for a while. Given the atmosphere at the time, it was as good a time as any to start. I'm thinking that we should re-ignite RG and set a recurring day of the month for it. (Weekly might be a bit much?)
  3. If I get a vote, I'd be happy to see The Gathering continue. Our "Rendezvous Gothique" was never intended to be a "splinter gathering," but the fruition of a discussion to have one on the east side, as the Westland area is quite the hike for some of us! We did take some time off due to other stuff, but Moe and I would be happy to call another meeting! (Perhaps sometime after my DAM thing on the 11th?) Would anyone else consider joining us? Our last one was held at the Ram's Horn on Dequindre, just S of 13 Mile.

Which hand you favor, while there's a definite preference for the corresponding dominant half of your brain (genetic), is actually more about habituation. I'm not sure what handed I'm supposed to be, but I'm right eye dominant, so I'm guessing it's right handed. My mom, however, was a southpaw, and had hoped that I would be, too. She used to take whatever I was holding in my right hand and switch it to my left. Being a defiant little shit, I would angrily switch it back. Yet over the years I noticed that if you take the time to "teach" your left hand to do things, you develop some cool abilities. When I was in massage school, I taught everything to my left side that I learned with my right. This makes it MUCH easier when standing on either side of the massage table to duplicate the same motions for both sides. It also comes in handy using tools to repair stuff, etc. (I just have to "remind" my left not to mirror image, which it is want to do writing, because screws still are threaded only one way!) I guess the whole point of my reply is to highly recommend taking the time to teach your "weak" hand to do what your strong hand can do. At this point in life it'll be more difficult, but not impossible. (I began my massage career as I was turning 60.) It sure makes life a lot easier in the long run.
  7. I guess! My only question: HOW "into BDSM"? When I see such a thing, I tend to make use of it.
  8. On the rare occasion I wear any type of fragrence, I have a blend of tea tree oil, mint and lavender that I make myself. (The aromatherapy classes and essential oils in massage school were very educational!) It's kinda my thing...
  9. Apparently not! As I type, "Magic Carpet Ride" by the Mighty Dub Kats is rollin'.....
  10. Funny - my head music never distracts me. In fact, I think if it ever disappeared, it would mess me up! (Kinda like my tinnitus - it's always been in my head; I've never known silence. If it suddenly went away, it would be weird and wrong.) I just tune 'em out, most times. On rare occasion, the song in my head just happened to be a great idea! I'd be trying to think about what to play next at a gig and the song in my head would turn out to be just what I needed. Rare, but it happens. Now Bob Seger is doing his "Let It Rock" thing... my day is getting off to a fine start!
  11. There is ALWAYS a song playing in my head. And no, I don't usually get to choose what it is. Sometimes it's even something horrible. I've had to play out my Spotify to eradicate the invading horribleness on occasion. Right now, Archie Bell & The Drells are entertaining my noggin with the "Tighten Up." Not too shabby! The songs change with the shifting winds; this has been going for most of the morning, but who knows when the "record" will change? When I saw the topic, the Left Banke started singing "You Were On My Mind" for a second, but now Archie is back. Thankfully! My head is a strange place.
  12. I gotta say, I've never been into clothes - as long as I wore the legal requirement and had enough pockets for my stuff, I wuz cool - but when I scored my nifty black leather jacket, it has become my favorite article. Prior to that was another leather jacket: a WWII style brown leather bomber jacket. I still save that one for the really cold days. Imma hafta agree with Scary: I will be 66 this year, so my concern over what anyone thinks is somewhere in the negatives. I do what I want.
  13. I find it best to remember the good stuff. The past is past. While I was sad that there was a rift between Troy and my Moe, I never forgot that he was the one to step up and visit her in the hospital when I could not. He did that despite his misgivings about the distance, how well his car was running at the time, gas and on and on. What could've been... well... it's futility now to speculate and only compounds our grief. True story.
  14. Was nice to see such a great turnout! Very cool to see so many old friends NOT involving Zoom(!) and meeting a few new peeps that got by me somehow. Thanks, too, for bearing with the music. The very carefully assembled tracks that Scary Guy so graciously provided somehow decided not to play... so we were stuck with a little sumpin' I keep tucked in my car for my own amusement. On the upside, Troy and I shared a love of '80s New Wave, so... maybe not so bad? Mad luv to you all!
  15. I've had a little luck with this site: https://www.chosic.com/find-song-by-lyrics/#gsc.tab=0 When all else fails....
  16. Just my unbiased two cents: there's not one damn thing wrong with how you look from where I sit. I think all three of you are amazing. <resume lurk mode> πŸ˜„
  17. Uh, oh....I almost didn't. But now I did! πŸ˜„ <Clap! Clap! Clap! Clap!> Okay, here we go, 1, 2, 3, 4... "Happy Happy Birthday, Happy Birthday YOU! Happy Birthday TronRP, From your ol' buddy, Stu!" WHOO HOO!!!! Hope it's been the best one yet...and MANY MORE!!!!
  18. Sorry to hear, my friend. It's good, though, that she's not going through all of this alone. Important. Be strong and hang in there. My heart goes out to ya.
