  1. Private schools is one thing....but being a community organizer in chicago, and having to see much of "Average America" is another. You act like the man has never seen poverty, suffering, and injustice in his entire life...and REAL versions of those, not some Hollywood/CNN newscasts of such things. You and I have both been to Chicago....we both know what the city is like more then most here that might have never been, and even some who have, because we spent more time in it. It's deceiving when it comes to hardships, because it looks like chicago is some superman-meets-batman metropolis, and it's suburbs tend to have that "slice of apple pie in modern America" meets "big city living" feel. The transportation system is the shyt, the choices of what/where to eat can make one's brain spin, and once you go to Navy Pier, you will see one of the most amazing skylines a city has to offer. That being said, I know that I have, and am going to assume the same for you as well, seen the underside of chicago: the homeless sleeping on the train and at O'hare; the beggars on the streets; & Elgin in it's dilapidated state. Hell, I was beaten, injected, and left for dead in Chicago, something that has still NEVER came close to happening in Detroit. Obama has seen those things much more then you or I. He lived amongst it, and worked to find solutions to those problems. You and I have only just walked past those problems, avoided them, or have contributed only a few minutes of time total to it (not judging what charity you have shown others, just making a general statement based on most of america..and yes, I know thats not a fair assessment of your contributions, if any, to people in need). This man made a career out of it early in his life, and can you or I say that? I know I can't. btw...TOTALLY off topic, but still felt a need to share it: a video of my good friend, and national recording artist, as frontman for NY based band Fixer, Evan R. Saffer, preforming the National Anthem at MSG, for a college basketball game.
  2. Not arguing the fact that people that take up two seats should pay for two seats, but in cases like Mr. Smith, mine, and thousands of others, this is getting out of hand. Yes...we're obese. No...it's not the most attractive thing and Yes....in most cases, we made ourselves this way. We have to deal with issues about our weight all the time. We will most likely die sooner, most of us have existing medical concerns already, and that is aside from the bevy of social awkwardness (btw, when did they change it from "ackward" to that???) that comes with being heavy. We can't even get an ice cream cone, like the rest of you in the summer, without getting stared at. Now, Cher, we've met. We can both state, without a shadow of a doubt, that, by far, I am not the skinniest guy in a room. That being said, most people can't fathom the fact that I am around 320 lbs, on average, or more, simply because I happen to wear my weight a little better then others. I don't take up more then a cushion on a couch, should I actually sit normal on said couch, and if I am lucky, and with a little gut sucking, I get to hear the third "safety click" on a roller-coaster. I hate photos of myself, especially when their are skinnier ppl in the photos; I get annoyed when any of my clients call themselves fat kids, and cope by trying to make it a joke; my knees pop constantly and my lower back is a mess of constant pain; and I shop at Burlington Coat Factory because I can get Ecko (insert some other clothing company name here) clothing for like $30 (for like a size 48-50, which is hard to impossible to find anywhere else), which I buy because of the fact that their baggy as hell so I don't look like a member of Fat Halen. I been this way most of my life, and no matter of exorcise truly changes the fact. I can press/lift much more then what most machines allow as a max weight (which most times doesn't break the 200lbs mark), so working out at a machine is pretty useless. While jogging is out of the question, I can walk from Royal Oak (or Farmington..cuz it has happened) to Roseville/St. Claire Shores without it bothering me, or stopping...and no, I don't have to be hyped up on sugar..I just have to be bored. Most people would balk at walking 1/4th of that. I will actually walk pretty much ANYWHERE (in a 20 mile radius), and half the time do, even if I have to leave insanely early just to get where I want to go on time...and I will do it in some of the coldiest/ rainiest weather Michigan gets. I can squat press/ pull/ push large amounts of weight, specially once my legs get moving, and I am a terror in a moshpit. Skinny America....the world is designed and built for you. FUCK YOU, SKINNY AMERICA! I can't count how many of you have ducked behind me, and other guys my size, when a fight at a concert/event breaks out. Am I supposed to save you because I am fat? You think this cushions the blows (it kinda does in some cases, but still)? Am I supposed to lift a finger to help you, after you can, and have, ordered MORE then me at almost any fast food chain. I get 2 McDoubles, and watch you get 3 or 4...but your gonna ridicule me? You already make me pay more for clothes, build booths at restuarants that uncomfertable, and TV idolizes you as "perfection". But we beat you, Skinny America....We have Ron Jeremy...and he has a bigger dick then you!!!!
  3. "Southwest Airlines apologized to the director via Twitter, and blogged a longer statement on Sunday afternoon -- in which it pointed out that Smith usually purchases two seats every time he travels." I forget what part of the apology process comes with pointing out faults of other people, or further insulting. Also, stuff like this is starting to make me afraid to fly. He had the armrests on both sides DOWN, and they still removed him from the plane. THIS is the kind of thing that the goverment needs to step in on.
  4. We currently have someone that does not come from a millionaire background, that has had to face some of the real problems that every day average Americans face.....and we're still bitching. The American public will never be satisfied....and it's because we're a picky, spoiled people.
  5. currently, everyone is a rumor, because no-one has stated, as far as I know, or can find, that they will be running for certian.
  6. I don't doubt you heard that, nor do I doubt that his current position is because a decent slice of the pie vote for him just to make history. Do I think he is the Ace in the Hole...no, because honestly, anything can happen, and I can't predict that far into the future. (no, I am not psychic, but if you read certian things surrounding stuff, you can predict the most likely outcome). However, if it comes between Obama and Mitt Romney, who has the largest percentage of Republican voters right now, according to the polls...It's gonna be Obama...unless something drastic happens. Palin won't have the support needed to beat Obama, even if she does become republican primary canidate...and Hilary can't unseat Obama in the democratic running because he made her look like a raving lunatic last time. As it stands, currently...I do see Obama for the win, should he choose to run. Having said that, if he doesn't run again, but chooses to run later, as is his right, he may never get back into the White House.
  7. awww...but see, you didn't bother to mention Jon Huntsman Jr., who HAS been rumored to become a front-runner for the Republican Party in 2012, but is rather deciding to not run for the party nomination. I didn't lie....it's in the article...next time...read FARTHER before you acuse...because I read everything you put up, much to my disdain, and what links you use...and it's either out of date info, from a source that isn't as credible that you wish it was, or your just running your trap without reading whats going on.
  8. Why are you obsessed with one item when you have FAILED to even defend anything? Do you honestly think knowing those names will help you any? fine, i'll give you the article. Some Republicains concedeing to Obama's Second Term? Whats being said, to clarify for you and everyone else, is that there are members of the Republican party, some of them considered to be in the running for Presidential Nominee in 2012, that would rather see Obama have a second term then bother to try to run against him. There is more then an intelligent train of thought there, and it is one that many in the Republican party have supported before ( Bill Clinton's Second Term ). Democrats have a higher success rate of getting two term in the White House. If the Republicans choose to play it safe for what will be an easier win later, then its what they choose to do, a they know that 2012 will not have a strong Republican Canidate. and if you want to be stopped called a liar...it's simple Gaf....stop lying,
  9. I am sure that we would like ANY politician keep his promises...if you find one, lemme know.
  10. A daily Kos poll???...your going to take a Daily Kos poll over Reuters? how about no...not ever. Reuters is a long term, well noted, and proven source. Daily Kos is well...not. And even the poll underneath it SUPPORTS ME...so I got 2-1 on you...I win. A large majority of those polls are at least 3-4 months old. I am at least using up-to-date polls...many more then you are.
  11. I said you were lying, and I proved it....has nothing to do with the play nice rules or calling you names, which I have not.... he beats them by 2 points, and all the named canidates he beats by more then 15-20 points..thats not loosing..a win is a win, Gaf. If your gonna cut hairs, at least be a certified barber.
  12. Now I will say it...Your lying. "President Barack Obama holds a two point lead against a generic Republican opponent for reelection in 2012, according to the latest Gallup poll." -The Hill "Obama leads 44 percent to 42 percent, a statistical dead heat, against a nameless Republican, according to the survey of 1,025 adults nationwide" -Reuters. Obama LOOSES to a generic Republican? No sir...your lying through your teeth against cold facts. I'm not being funny...I am being honest...and what I am posting is posted/based on cold fact, where your's are xenophobic rantings that are not founded on anything but a few areas of his histroy that are still up in the air, both on basis of facts or importance. I have not talked down to you or anyone else on this subject...but now I have taken off your suppose costume...your lying, Gaf...you are lying because you don't want to be wrong...you don't like the fact that, even with only a 2 point margin, Obama still beats out your "generic republican". Also, for your referance, polls also showing him beating out all ten of the suppose canidates for the Repeublican party, one on one, as it stands now. Keep lying to yourself Gaf....but stop lying to all these people.
  13. I hate the Urban Dictionary...though I have contributed to it.
  14. so the only arguement here is wheither it's ethical? Because it's certainly not illegal, nor un-Constitutional. I don't expect privacy on a cell phone, unless I go to an area where no-one can hear me, and even that is dependant on wheither or not anyone enters that area. Expecting privacy on a cell phone is like expecting NY Strip at a McDonalds.....Expect it all you want, but your not gonna get it. Privacy and cellphones haven't gone together in YEARS...or actually the inception of the cell phone. Remember back i nthe day when you could listen into ppl's convo's with another phone, or a HAM Radio? Or sitting next to someone and both parties are talking loud enough you can hear the entire convo? Or what about the people that repeat everything that they just got in their text messages?
  15. THe bars should have been padded, not that it would have helped much with the speed and way he hit the bar
  16. "It's spelled "meant". If your going to rag on me for a spelling mistake... you should avoid making them." I was simply making a statement that if you meant one thing, instead of the other, I had my bases covered. "Did you mean to put more words in that second sentance? I'm pretty sure you were trying to insult me there... but you seem to be missing some words. As it stands, it makes no sense." I don't have to TRY to insult you Gaf...much of what you say has little to no backing, as I have proven time and time again, with cold, solid facts. That, in and of itself, means that I don't have to try and insult you...it's just natural. Yes, the sentence was missing words. I was on the phone while typing and thought it further finished then what it was. I said it was for idiots and slangsters in terms that you seem to like to put yourself above those types of people. If anything, take it as a compliment....the only one you will get from me. Cherish it. Put it on the mantle. Take pictures and put it in a scrap book. I thought that you would be above using the Urban Dictionary. "So you admit Sarah has real experiance in government. Now which is it? Is she the stupid bitch with no experiance as you stated in other posts or is she a career politician that you are trying to paint her as now?" I said she was a career politician...I never said she was smart, or had the experience needed to run a country. So I will make a slight change to my opinion of Palin, as to clarify: she is a stupid bitch with nowhere near the proper amount of experience. Now, before you take the oh-so-obvious "Obama" route...btw, how very predictable of you...Senate seats are much closer to the actual wheelings and dealings that happen in Washington, and Chicago is a much better "slices of the pie" style demographic soup then Alaska. All experience is not the same, not matter the amount of time that you earn it in. Any child or "geek" thats played D&D can tell you that. "The Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission is part of Alaska's state government. Not a special interest. She pushed for a pipeline as Governor... again, not a special interest. Todd left BP when Sarah became Governor and then went back later as a non-management field worker. Check your facts." How are these not special interests? I beg to differ, and call it special interest in terms of her husbands career. Anyone with a half a mind can easily put 2 + 2 = 4, and in this case, the first 2=" Palin taking charge of things that personally benefit her husband/ the company that her husband works for" + the second 2="BP, as a company, got larger benefits from Alaska then any other Fuel Company, including the offering of larger contracts." = 4 "Todd's new position was a poor attempt to make some that is obviously favoritism look otherwise." We all seen these kinds of tactics. Watch Goodfellas, The Godfather series, hell...even in the Sopranos. You can call it not special interest in political terms, as it's not a special interest group. But in the terms of it being special interest where there were/are kickbacks in one way or another...yeah...DEFINATELY special interest. You want me to bring facts? ok...lets look at some facts about good ole' Todd Palin. "In 2007, in order to avoid a conflict of interest relating to his wife's position as governor, he took a leave from his job as production supervisor when his employer became involved in natural gas pipeline negotiations with his wife's administration." ok...so you got a rung on the ladder...but lemme take that ladder out for under you real quick before you climb to high and hurt yourself in the fall. " Seven months later, because the family needed more income, Todd returned to BP." needed more income....."Financial statements filed in 2007 show that Palin earned $92,790 from BP and fishing." thats just HIS income. Sarah's income is $125,000. That makes the annual Palin family yearly income as $217,790. Thats almost 4 times the national average household income. Sarah's income alone if double the average national household income. With the fact that half her travel costs are covered by state, that she gets federal income for the rest of her life as a former governor, and a multi-year contract with Fox news as a political consultant. "In order to avoid potential conflict of interest, this time he accepted a non-management position as a production operator. He resigned from his job on September 18, 2009, with the stated reason of spending more time with his family." So he goes BACK to work when his wife is asked to run as VP for John McCain...and after she looses, he quits again..... "First it was "give him at least a year" before you judge him.. now it's "give him at least a term". Fine, he gets one term. He even admits that his chances for a second term are slim." I think you are refering to this remark, made by Obama: "I’d rather be a really good one-term president than a mediocre two-term president.” Thats not admitting that his chances for a second term are slim. Thats simply stating that he would RATHER be a really good one-term guy then an ok two term guy. How is that saying that he will have only one term? Also, there are several notable Republicans that are already conceding the 2012 elections to Obama, should he run, and are focusing on 2016. Yes, I said to give the man a year. I am now altering that to "give the man a term." Thats not a crime, nor is it flip-flopping, because even if you gave him just a year, what differance does it make, because he will have one term anyway, regardless weather you agree with what he does or not. I have already stated that I don't agree with everything he has done, nor do I agree with some of his ideals...but do I think that he was a better man for the job then the alternative...yes I do. If you wish to continue blasting me for an opinion, then continue, because as much as you can't stop Obama after one year, I can't stop you from pretending that your Bill O'Reilly.
  17. "back non-career politicions" = Sarah Palin considers running for president, under the Tea Party Movement, in 2012? Could have sworn that she seemed to have had a career in politics, what with being former council woman, former mayor, former governor, and made a bid at the White House with John McCain. My eyes must be getting bad, because thats OBVIOUSLY not a career politician. Oh...and the "oppose special interests" part: did you miss the part where she pushed for the oil-pipeline to Alaska, the fact that she was the CHAIRPERSON for the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission, or that her husband worked as a "consultant" for BP, which had the BEST deals given to them, BY the Alaskan Goverment, DURING Palin's term as Governor. Coulda swore that was special interests.......damn. Now, should you have actually MENT "polititions" and not "Politician", then I would have to apologize, because I didn't know that "martyr" was a career option. However, using a term, had you not made a spelling error, that you can only find in the Urban Dictionary, which is kinda like Wikipedia for dummies and slangsters. I hope that she DOES run under the Tea Party Movement flag. I really do. So that way her call for the Tea Party Movement to be absorbed into the Republican party can come to bear, and we can STOP saying "Tea Party Movement" and use the term without the powder sugar on it: Extremist Republicans that lost too much money. Now, on to MY reaction to the current President's "reign". I will CHALLENGE any of you to "fix" an entire country in a year. It doesn't even have to be the US. I challenge you to "fix" Guam, or Paraguay, or Tuvalu. In the words of Katt Williams "Go ahead, I'll wait." I don't agree with everything that he is doing/has done/plans to do, but the only person I would agree with 100% with is...well...me. That goes for a HUGE number of Americans. We will NEVER 100% agree with someone 100% of the time. "Take the good with the bad" is just part of life, no matter if it's in politics, religion, employment, relationships, family, etc. None of us can find a president, or anyone in political office, that we completely agree with...it's not gonna happen. We can be behind some of their views, or even a majority, but not all of them..and more often then not, they will make choices we don't like. And while you can sit there and put up TONS of things he has done wrong, or at least what you don't like, playing Bill O'Reilly with the fact that "For Better or Worse" is a part of our existance isn't gonna to give you any decent building materials to poke holes into my view with. In short, the man has had a YEAR at his job, and when he got that job, it was already spinning in the toilet. Asking, or even more ridiculous..expecting...him to flip the charts of our econimical downslide upside down in a years time, and be "gods gift to the presidency" is ludacris...and no...not the rapper. Give him a term before you judge him to be the "herald of the American Apocalypse". Thats only fair. If we choose to be nothing else, let us at least be fair. Presidents have had a whole term, or even multiple terms, to screw up things, or see other things come to bare. To not give this man the same oppertunity is to say that, as a people, we are against everyone having an oppertunity....which is the blood in the heart of what our forefathers wrote the roots of our history in.
  18. anyone else notice how it looked like little pieces of glass and not quartz at all?
  19. Left 4 Dead 2 + "No Gods West" & "Red River Killer" by my boys in Butcher Jones
  20. *adds three names that won't be getting christmas cards* lol ok...I'll admit it...her songs are not that bad...what annoys me is that she actually BELIEVES she is this alien-ish personsa....thats not for attention...she is like that 24/7.
  21. 5 year old boy gets up at 4 am to go to the bathroom. He passes by his parents room and hears noises. He peeks inside and sees his mom bent over with his dad plowing her from behind. The dad spots him and starts laughing as the boy goes back to bed. two days later, they are visiting the grandmother. The father passes by the grandmothers room and hears noises. He peeks inside and there is his 5 year old son giving it to the fathers' mom. The father is in shock. The son sees him and says "Not so funny when it's your mom, is it?"
  22. Mad Machinery - Possession http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3M7_BV_GdnQ And go to a Pilz show and listen to their cover of "Mother"...PHENOMINAL And go to a Group Therapy show and check out their haunting cover of Elenor Rigby.
  23. Yes, Tommy Koffin is leaving the Koffin Kats. He simply cannot continue to tour with the shape his back and knees are in. While Tommy is going to be sorely missed, they already have a new guitarist from Alberquere, NM, EZ Ian. They have all been fans of his for years, and have all agreed that he would be perfect to continue the Koffin Kats legacy. There will NEVER be a replacement for Tommy, and EZ Ian is not seeking to do that. It is simply part of a band evolution. Anyone in the Pychobilly scene, and into Detroit bands in general, have great respect and luv for Tommy Koffin. He will be a KK forever. P.S. Doug, tell Vic I'll see him March 20th, @ NyNy. I simply cannot make it out to Ypsi that night.
