  1. I'm listening to Muse covering The Cramps!
  2. Holy. Crap!!!! If you missed the Season 7 premiere, don't read the spoiler!!!!!
  3. Not a new band - far from it - but the Mission are back with a new album that totally brings back that mid'80s goth sound and vibe:
  4. been running thru my mind for 2 days now, ever since I found out they're playing Arts Beats & Eats tonight. Might go down there to see 'em.
  5. Trailer for Little Sister, the goth nun comedy you didn't know you needed:
  6. Pokemon Go has hit, and the world may never be the same. Clever robbers have already used it to lure unsuspecting gamers to Victimville. People are finding complete strangers trying to hunt down various Pokemon in their backyards and driveways. Anyone here caught up in it yet?
  7. Easiest one to like is probably Cemetery Man; it's kinda a horror-comedy. As far as a favorite...probably Zombi or Night of the Demons.
  8. Damn. :( Back in late January, I got a message about how he was coming to see me at the Dovetail Cafe the first weekend of February. I sent him a message telling that that gig had actually happened in February of 2015. I hope he got it in time and didn't go up there. Reqiescat in pace, prick. You were a good man, from what I could tell.
  9. Carnival of Souls Cemetery Man Zombi Night of the Demons (original version) Three Extremes
  10. holy crap, someone recreated the Voder! http://www.synthtopia.com/content/2016/04/12/synthetic-sound-labs-recreates-1939-voder-talking-machine/?utm_content=bufferf6992&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_campaign=buffer
  11. Builders and the Butchers and Devil Makes 3 are awesome! There used to be a great local duo (male and female vocals, man also played guitar) called Bone Orchard Revival. I don't know if they ever released anything, but damn, were they good live. Last I heard, they broke up a couple of years ago(?) when the female singer moved out of state. :(
  12. If you're near a TV RIGHT NOW, Babymetal's going to be on Stephen Colbert's show right after the commercial break that just started!
  13. Now it's Transformers 5 shooting here, and they're looking for lots of extras! looking 4 u on the big screen!
  14. The greatest live performer I've ever seen (6 concerts between '83 and '98), and I can't imagine anyone ever reaching those levels again. Oh, and if you haven't heard his latest album "Blackstar" yet, what the hell are you waiting for?
  15. Two absolute titans; I got to see Bowie live 6 times and Motorhead at least 4. Trust me, I know how lucky I was.
  16. "Is Your Love Strong Enough" - Bryan Ferry
  17. How good are you at building things out of LEGO, really? Because Michigan's LEGOLand is seeking a master builder! get paid to play!
  18. A LOT of Public Enemy lyrics; the first one that comes to mind is, "You singers are spineless/As you sing your senseless songs to the mindless." Probably my fave couplet ever. Always liked Morrisey's lyrics, even as his songs got worse and worse. Never really been much of a Springsteen fan, but damn, do I wish I'd written the lyrics to the opening verses of "Thunder Road": "The screen door slams, Mary in dress waits like a vision she dances across the porch as the radio plays ...and on through the "and that's alright with me" line. The song goes to shit after that, but damn, is that opening brilliant. ...maybe more later?
