One day with hope all but gone our hero sets forth

He rode heavy with longing his cause headed towards the the icy north

The land of cold to match his now icy heart

He once was loved and loved many then beauty did depart

On and on he rode, despair growing day by day

His quest knew no end,why he started he never did say

He just knew he must pack saddle his mount and go

If his heart would melt and love again only the gods did know

He never stopped riding, his body never rested

surely fate felt that he must be tested

Day to night and night tio day his course never waivered

Maybe thru trial and suffering he will once more be favored

One night our hero almost collapsed as he glimpsed a gate

perhaps here he would find what he lost of late

The walls the glowed and the gate it hummed

the sound from the gate all his sadness summed

He sat in awe of this mystical citadel

Where he was no senses not even the stars could tell

The consciousness faded and for ht first time he slept

Dreams of love and joy filled his dreams and for the first time he wept

As he awoke a vision in white apppeared over him

Surely i've died he said a cruel joke at some god's whim

To die without love and all it brings

BUt then the vision spoke like an angel when it sings

She was clothed all in silver and white

She seemed to glow with an ethereal crystalline light

With words alien to him and a touch second to none

She melted his heart and beatings anew had begun

Many moons passed,he learned of the land and of her speech

He was all too eager to learn all she would teach

Bit by bit he slowly learned to love once more

If he only knew what fate had in store

He learned her language, customs and habits all

Of this only himself cause his professions of love to stall

He thoughtlong and hard what words to would best express

All he felt and thought was how he longed for just her caress

His unknown love grew and grew till it consumed his very soul

She even seemed to be loving him more and more than she could control

Unspoken words, hearts full of love these two shared

Our hero's love was so pure no other could compare

One day he decidedto tell her his secret thoughts

When she arived the words flowed in heavenly draughts

She smiled, she blushed, she sighed with longing

He knew not to what his heart was belonging

When he finished he awaited a word from her

In his hearthe felt her love was his for sure

She began to speak her mind and her heart

It was loving at first but just at the start

As he listened his heart began to sink

Was this still she that saved him from despairs deep brink

From love she spoke How dare he profess love for the Queen of ICe

She knew not of his knightly rank his search for love his only vice

She told him, wounds healed, hunger sated and lessons learned to leave

Again crushed beyond all hope, how cruel the godsto make him so grieve

Once more he rode, now from hte lands of ice and ruined love

COuld this be the blow that kills the hero we speak of

For many days our hero rode, unable to clear the demons from his head

THe ice queen's words weighed on himlike shots of lead

Why would he be punished so,were they that angry the God's of the SKy

No other options known, unloved not even by himself our hero layed down to die

The Gods on high saw this and felt pity on our beaten hero

They drew him up to thier realm and tried to take his pain and ease his woe

Ofered him a choice,a choice to be his alone

Terms of which stated to have sorrow liftedand search for love again or be turned to

naught but bone

He thanked the ALmightiesfor thier sign of favor to him

BUt I mist decline the offer given by your whim

My sorrow gone would be to leave open my heart that once brightly shone

I couldnt take hte pain again so make me nothing but bone

THe gods lamented the knights choice for death

As he was struck dead no remorse he gave, even from his dying breath

THe GOds sorry for his life withoutlove they made his soul into stars

So his once bright beauty and loving heart would never again show scars

the end
