The Gathering III , Thursday, March 24th - Coming?

Recommended Posts

Goth, ex Goth, Re-Goth for the day, The DGNer , Post-DGNer,  Sci Fi , Gamer , Horror Nerd, MTG Player, Ingress player, random Socialite (any of these) is upon us:

The Red Apple Restaurant & Inn

32711 Michigan Ave, Wayne, MI 48184 <--- Directions via Google

7:30 Thursday March 24th

Really Big Sign Hard to miss.  (anyone have a good pic of that place? I don't, and the google pics are kinda crap, at least the ones I found)

'Club' attire encouraged but not required.

Once you walk in , go past the "counter" and the "little booths" to the larger booth area on the right? (still pondering that one) That's probably the largest "group of tables" to sit/socialize.

I don't think they serve alcohol but now that I think about it , you did manage to get smashed you could stay there.   Hrmm...   Hotel Party at some point in the future?  (been a million years since I've done one of those)  anyhow...

This is NOT the place to post about how your going somewhere else , or doing something else or intentionally not coming or some other BS.  Thanks.

We will be there on March 24th. Since March 25th is Good Friday, we generally have different plans.

However, last Thursday we were there until 7:20pm, but saw no early straglers. This time we will try to hang around later due to school being out for Spring Break.

Hope to see people

By the way, love that picture. Will it be used as one of The Gathering images?

Probably , if i decide to keep doing the cards (which I probably will for at least another week or two) just so damn poor I can't pay for the laminate to make them out of my pocket indefinitely (which Is what I'm doing) its not super expensive, just I'm super jobless.   lol.

Help a brother out,  go here:

https://www.facebook.com/events/1048061205260372/

just invite the whole friends list to the event.  (within reason.  theoretically this is a PG13  (as is all of DGN , even though its probably more like 18+ in reality given much of our content), no one is going to watch their F-Bombs event, but otherwise everyone is welcome.

Also I was thinking of attaching some sort of on-dgn badge to the cards, but not sure what I'm going to do with the "badge" system at all at the moment.  (the things under your picture next to every post)

We will be there from 6pm to 8pm. So if anyone wishes to drop any F-bombs, we will be out of your way by 8pm, but I would at least like the chance to meet some DGNers this Thursday night.

Most people are genetically incapable of being on time. So around 8 is when the majority seems to show up. (Intentionally made the start time 7:30 knowing this. Should be some sort of award for people that show up on time. :D

Also, I want to get me one of those "Gathering" cards blank-it!

Your wish is my command.

    • ~~~~~ Actually, I found it got better.  I had to learn to enjoy life.   With "Middle Child Syndrome" you don't have the luxury of certain thoughts or behaviors as you watch everyone else around you living their life and "going through it".  However, there does come a point where what was then is no longer now and you find your voice, then you can start learning what it means to live life as we understand it.   Unfortunately, because that "freedom" comes later in life than most, you end up as an adult living a crash course of "This is Life" without training wheels and it is a scary position to be in while you are still carrying the scars of an inescapable sense of duty and responsibility that defines you as you navigate your new now.  You come across as a somewhat very naïve, yet responsible adult and there isn't a lack of participants waiting in line to take advantage of that beacon.    However, without the emotionally charged state of youth misdirecting you, you are also able to come to lifechanging decisions for your betterment quicker than most, as you are hyper aware of what is coming your way.   Mix that with a bit of new found confidence and you find that you have a voice that can help others to assess their own situations and life choices.   ~~~~~ As for myself, I interact with a lot of young people who are currently "going through it" and I let them know that although they are feeling it, they have to step back and reassess their situation from a different perspective.   Inevitably, however, with age comes the "I'm too old for this..." mindset wakeup moment and then you can truly begin to enjoy what life has to offer.  I just try to help people get to that point a bit more sooner than later.

    • Not that this gets a lot of activity, but it's been three years, which is also around the last time @Lucyfurlogged on here.  This can probably be unpinned :P
