Modern Ruin is Grand Rapid's best kept secret! Just feet from the main door, a private entrance awaits you. Ascend the staircase to find yourself in a modern speak-easy filled with technicolor lights, a color changing bar, and black vinyl seating. A smoking and drinking patio of vice lies just outside of the main room. Indulge in a night of deadly solutions (alcohol), pulse-pounding beats, and decadent attire.

There is no dress-code... however, goth/industrial/black attire is strongly encouraged.

Everyone is welcome so leave your judgements at home.

First of all, Thursday's have not changed location. Louie's is the original name of the bar that was called Banger's.

ANNNDDDD, great news! Thursday's will be moving to Saturday's at Louie's starting 5/12!

Its just on Saturday and not on Thursday (or Sunday) at all, right? (just editing the DGN calendar and its listed as being on Sunday and Thursday which, I assume is just an artifact from previous times when it was on those days.

Shoot yes, just Saturday! Forgot to edit that! Thanks for the catch.

is this still in the same place, the building with the tall brick water tower? the directions don't look the same as i remember...

i might actually be able to make it out this weekend - finally!! :stuart:

No different place, but close. Follow the directions, when you arrive it is the door that leads upstairs to the "Loft". Can't miss it!

great meeting you too! i would have said goodbye, but i didn't want to interrupt your dancing! although i'm not well-versed in the scene, jason was playing some sweet music last night - place had a great vibe (although i prefer a bit more darkness!) :stuart: good sized crowd as well, not too packed, but plenty of dancing as the night continued. sorry i couldn't stick around longer, no where to crash up there overnight - had to ride back to kalamazoo. (also, as is typical, i'm not very conversive, and there's only so much crowd watching one can do without looking weird. lol)

now that i know it's on saturday, i should be able to make it up a bit more often!

      What If I actually finish my Masters degree? Like what if I don't screw up? I mean I am almost half way finished. The part that scares me is the amount of money that it costs and the fact I have to do an internship the last two semesters,  I mean I have burned some bridges in the field um, lots of bridges like I'm cool with people from Jobs I've quit though but this field I been kinda medically retired and it sucks, I want to try and fix myself..my health has improved a lot but I'm still crazy as hell. My bf was impressed because when he first met me we was drinking one night and I was being a goof as I do but all of a sudden my mom's friend called me and wanted me to help her with a situation involving her son and the court system and I immediately sobered up and told her what they should expect and what they could do and my bf was like,  wow, you just snapped right into business like no problem.  I was like yea, I'm not completely crazy yet. Lol Ok ramble over. I'm killing time until this Midnite and Nyquil kick in.

      The poor lady across the hall is elderly and lives all alone. She has a cat at least one that I seen on her balcony (we had a staring contest) Anyway, the cat piss stench permeates all the way through the door into the hall and into our apartment.  It's so bad like concerningly so. She is very independent, seems very sweet but I don't think she'll allow me to help her out because one day she was trying to get up the stairs with a couple bags and I offered to help but she thanked me very gratefully and said she was OK. I don't want to say anything about the smell and my bf is nose blind and only noticed because I pointed it out.  The smell though..I hate seeing elderly people who have noone😢
