Troy Spiral (13)
Haha, as long as Nyxiin stays or reminds me if I start to forget I'll stay We gotta work on that, if we cant find you something interesting to talk about with 10K+ subjects around here *points all around* we are failing epicly. What sort of stuff do you read? There are many varieties of nerds, these days that could mean anything from "i like computers" to "I live under a bridge with my pet troll and collect bottle caps". My nerd varieties: Science, Science Fiction, Comparative Religion (or lack thereof more like)/ philosophy , yeah Video Games.. but damn, these days that almost doesnt even count anymore since everyone seems to play them, I used to have to almost "hide" that. I also play tabletop games (magic, settlers etc) I read a lot, mostly non-fiction lately, but I've ready tons of fiction (fluff) and fiction (classics) just sort of biasing toward "reality" based books lately for various reasons. Troy Spiral (13)
LMAO, I have a newsletter? When since was I interesting news? And as Mark Twain Once said "While the rest of the species is descended from apes, redheads are descended from cats." WTF. *tugs on a horn to get your attention* Im the NFCP (Nyxiin Fan Club President) don't you remember from the meetings and the hats and the buttons??? (We still need to take a vote on the T-Shirt design for next month, there is a lot of drama surrounding it, for some reason "Troy > You other NFC Noobs" does not have as much support as I thought it would. It was him, me, the guy that owned the comic shop here in town at the time Charles Vess (awesome fantasy illustrator / comic artist / painter) if i remember correctly, all standing outside the star trek panel discussion (no shit lol). He said something like "i really don't like writing very much at all. I like being ABOUT to write, and i really like having already written. But the actual writing is a chore." Then he told a story about the guy that was writing swamp thing at the time (allen moore?) and said that he gets up at 6 am and just writes random stuff for the "fun" of it, something he thought was bizarre. Which at the time I was hardcore into painting / pencil drawing and had that same general opinion but never voiced it because I figured I'd be burned at the stake and branded a heretic. Throwing MMORPGS in there is rough, since just one can suck away all your time for everything else, been there... many times heh.

THey wrote Good Omens together. Also the MMOs I play are Global Agenda, DDO, LOTRO, etc. I also just started playing The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind. I don't have a good computer so I can only play this one and not oblivion

Troy Spiral (13)
Terry Pratchet is a good author and a good friend of Neil's. THey wrote Good Omens together. Also the MMOs I play are Global Agenda, DDO, LOTRO, etc. I also just started playing The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind. I don't have a good computer so I can only play this one and not oblivion Yeah I was just teasing about the Gaiman thing. Good Omens was his first novel he was actually at that comic con (partially) to promote it I if I'm remembering it right (I've seen him a few different times). That conversation I was talking about was right around the time he was getting into novel writing. We are talking 20 years ago, i was reading Neil and even before then and read most of the 10 or so Discworld books that were out at that time. I played DDO quite a bit, never did play LOTRO , not becasue I wasn't interested, just becasue right around that time I started realizing how much of my time was getting sucked down by my MMO addiction and just sort of shyed away from it. Yeah Elder Scrolls is good one of the best of the "open ended-ish" type rpgs. Not having a computer that can run certian things (or even just running existing things sluggish) is frustrating. Damn that march of system-hogging games crap! lol.

Currently I have three saves: Morrowind tryout - general playing Morrowind KILLER - kill everything I can and try not to get caught CHEATS - trying out a lot of the console cheats. best spell ever while cheating, fire damage 100-100 50 area with 100 duration plus ice damage 100-100 50 area with 100 duration on target. its very good. Its been so long I can barely remember any details like that. But yeah thats cool how open ended it is, sort of the GTA of RPGS, they tried (although its not really possible with computer AI) to simulate the open ended feeling you get from pen & paper RPGs and did a pretty great job. (8 years ago? 9?) Even oblivion is er... 5 ears old i think. One thing I don't like (although Im in the HUGE minority apparently) is the first person perspective, for some reason I prefer that top-down 3/4 perspective (zelda / diablo etc). I remember being in shock that even before the damn thing came out they were talking about working on Scrolls IV (scrolls V comes out this year apparently).
