Vater Araignee
Well responsible legal citizens wouldn't bring those things into the state park anyway. In Island Lake RA it is illegal to "Possess or consume an alcoholic beverage within from April 1 through Labor Day, without written authorization of the park manager" My only hand gun is an ArmaLite AR-7 that was modified into a pistol in 61 or 62, legally. Unfortunately because I am not the modifier... I can not open carry it. It must be dissembled to the point of interoperability for transport. It must be transported in a locked case. So it wont be coming with me and unless my father cuts his trip short I cant borrow his p-22 (in hopes of winning a rifle) or bring my rifles to the range. It suck but I'm still showing up. Vater Araignee
Come anyway and show your support. I'm 100% positive that some one will be handing out LEO packets for people to send their local Chiefs and Sheriffs so that they know "Any citizen that can legally possess a firearm can Open Carry". I always thought that was just for the beach . Either way, it's probably a good idea to not have drunks with guns, I was being a smart ass. Heh, weird. I always thought that was just for the beach . Either way, it's probably a good idea to not have drunks with guns, I was being a smart ass. I figured as much but you made me realize that a lot of people don't know that the law pertains to more than the beaches. Many more don't know that Parks have different rules. April 1 through Labor Day Fort Custer RA - entire park. Holly RA - day-use areas south of McGinnis Road. Island Lake RA - day-use areas of the park. Seven Lakes SP - entire park. Maybury SP - entire park. April 1 through September 30 Brighton RA - Bishop Lake day-use area. Pinckney RA - Silver Lake and Halfmoon Lake units. Sterling SP - day-use areas of the park. Metamora-Hadley RA - day-use areas of the park. Ortonville RA - Big Fish Lake day-use area. Proud Lake RA - Huron picnic area. Just a quick example. Oh I plan too. I don't have anything else planned after work that night and ILRA is only about 10 minutes from my work. Its just been a long while since I've been to the range, would have been nice to shoot too.
Vater Araignee
Last time I was on a state owned range some twit went on a tangent about me setting up my trap to throw rabbits because they "Distracted him." I got sick of it and started picking off his pigeons after he missed them. Even tho the supervisors where laughing their asses off I had to leave for taking his clay. Been trying to find a range near by that will let me shoot clay rabbits with a .22, no luck so far.
Ryle Hira
I don't know any off hand but the 9th would be a great time to ask around. Networking is always fun! Great time to meet new people with common interests.

Vater Araignee
There are 13 geocaches there too, 4 of them I haven't found so I might look for them too. If anyone with a GPSR is interested, I would be happy to give you a primer and coords to local caches.
