DJ Nihil
Hey all. Not sure who may be interested in this but after seeing the Public Image Ltd. thread and The Psychedelic Furs, thought I'd post this. I never thought it would happen, but Tears for Fears are doing a new US tour this summer and Detroit is one of the first shows: 12-Aug Detroit, MI Sound Board at MotorCity Casino heard it mentioned on 94.7 this past week as they were giving tickets away. Tickets through the ticketbastards are $32 and $40. it should also be noted that this is a 21+ show. I'll be going. I am not missing possibly the last chance to see one of my favorite 80s bands ever. DJ Nihil
has anyone here ever been to this place? how many people does it hold? I've taken a look at pictures of Sound Board and it looks to be pretty good size. Description there says it can seat 2400 people. There are some nice pics of the interior on the clubs website. Sound Board Site August is a long way off as of right now, but I'm am sure the passage of time will be quicker than I perceive it to be. DJ Nihil
Yep, was an outstanding show. All the bases were covered, including 2 versions of Mad World, and Woman in Chains and Advice for the Young at Heart. All the hits were played except Everybody Wants to Rule the World. Merch was a little pricy, but I'm not complaining about the autographed Scenes From The Big Chair DVD I now own. Sound Board is a pretty terrific place for concerts. Plenty of room to walk around, a great lighting and sound system, and an easily viewable stage. Hope to see another show there sometime soon. Actually, they DID play Everybody Wants to Rule The World. Did you leave early maybe? Totally agree with the amazing show review though. Saw A LOT of familiar faces running around the venue, which was nice. Playing both versions of Mad World was fucking genius.
