Best Movie Insults

Recommended Posts

Hey people. I stumbled upon this site after searching Google for the term "Because of the wonderful drugs he does" (Trying to see if I was the only one who came up with this bastardization of the Wizard of Oz).

I'm not. One of you guys did.

Anyhoo, the site seem warped enough for me to spread the joy on one of the best movie insults I've heard in a long time. I happened to catch "Dolores Claiborne" on cable the other day, and I noticed a great insult that some how I missed, despite the advanced age of the book and movie. To wit:

Sanctimonious Detective John Makey:

"I'm sorry Mrs. Claiborne"

Dolores:

"Huh. The last time you was sorry was when you needed to use a pay toilet

and the string on ya pet dime broke".

Can't wait to use that one, but i don't know how many people remember pay toilets.

Full Metal Jacket

Animal Mother: You a photographer?

Private Joker: I'm a combat correspondent.

Animal Mother: Well you seen much combat?

Private Joker: I've seen a little on TV.

Animal Mother: You're a real comedian.

Private Joker: Well they call me Joker.

Animal Mother: Well I got a joke for you. I'm gonna tear you a new asshole.

Private Joker: Only after you eat the peanuts out of my shit.

Animal Mother: You talk the talk. Do you walk the walk?

How about anything spoken in Gran Torino? Or do tons of racial slurs not count?

What I meant regarding great movie insults was the cleverness of the insult. I realize I didn't make that clear, but anyone can string together curses or racial epithets. To do so subtly takes real skill.

Since you mention Gran Torino, wasn't it obvious that, except for the gang members, Kowalski's slurs were not really meant to hurt others? He was just portraying a behind-the-times, old-school working stiff. After all, he sacrificed his life to provide a future for his Hmong friend. It seems obvious to me that Clint Eastwood is trying to atone for his past portrayals of violent characters with his recent movies. For christ's sake, he cried in Million Dollar Baby.

I especially remember the fancy ones in Hudson's... you could pay extra and get an extra-large stall with a sink and room for a stroller or baby buggy.
