n0Mad
I almost went. I'm pretty much recovered from the flu so I had the energy for it. I didn't have to work today so I actually could've stayed out late. And I was even invited to accompany a very lovely lady. But still, all that wasn't quite enough to get me to go. TheOsakaKoneko
Eh, it's not his thing, and that's cool. This is true. That is cool. Yet, as much as I hate to make waves...we don't go into the Ritz thread and say something like "I almost went, I had nothing to do, I felt like heading out, I wanted to drink, I had a gorgeous date waiting for me, I had a million reasons to go, but eh, nothing could convince me to set foot in there". To each their own - I can totally understand why some people wouldn't want to come to Deadline. It's an event that is perfect for some people and not for others. I just don't see the reason to knock it. It just seems..kinda petty? I don't get it. (And I don't even mean to pick on Spook particularly...I think he's a cool guy...I just don't get what made him do that. ;P) BTW, I have nothing against the Ritz, and I would probably be going tonight if I wasn't so freaking tired from going out on Monday and Wednesday. I just used that as an example.
taysteewonderbunny
Whoa...$3 Guiness! Cool seeing GreyHalo as always! Prick - cool seeing you and chillin' with you at White Castle's TaysteeWonderBunny - cool meeting you and talking old SPAG days with your man! And all you djs - good mix tonite! And, hell, electronic music The Deadcat can purr to! Osaka and Riku - matching hats! You two are adorable together! Jon the younger, Jon the Schultz is not my man, but a really good friend since high school.....I dated his best friend, he dated mine, but we've never dated. Anyway, he IS the only one to ever make me mixed tapes/CDs that were worth the listen. He's goofy, which makes him all the more endearing, and I hope he'll join the board soon. Yeah, awesome meeting you, and I'm very glad that you and he hit it off so well. Now he has more impetus to drag his ass out of the desert and rejoin us in the land of the living dead. I had a great time last night! Had two of those $3 Guinness (though I ought to have stopped at one, I suppose) AFTER I'd had a 50-cent rum and coke, and had great fun dancing, though I looked a fool. It was wonderful seeing Prick, TheOsakaKoneko, Ivy_Cat, greyhalo, Chernobyl, Pestilence, Constantin, deadyeti, Riku and meeting you (Joey Deadcat), Scary Guy, and sluagh66. It's an experience I hope to repeat, even the etting of "chicken" rings at the Castle after.

I just used that as an example. I may have to go to The Ritz because Constantin and Pest wanted to go after I mentioned that they play Rob Zombie and Manson style mainstream crap (from what I've been told and read on the few playlists that have been posted on DGN)...go figure . So yeah, you may reluctantly see me at The Ritz soon enough, even though I'm pretty sure that it's "not my thing" without even going. Can't know for sure though unless I give it a trial run...right? I may be proven wrong, who knows, I might actually like it. If anything, I'll at least get to hang out with some DGNers that I'm sure I haven't seen in a minute, which is always a good thing regardless of the location. Do they have fun stuff for non-drunk people to do at The Ritz like pool and darts like Dead-Line has? Just wondering...

Sure there's a lot of Combichrist/Manson/whatever, but come on man - Scary's the DJ. He wouldn't shove only that shit down your throat. It's a good night with good music. Just a lot more industrial/new/mainstream/stompy/harder than Deadline. Not my favorite type of music, but not bad. I danced to some good tunes when I was there. They played Enjoy the Silence and I heard Everyday is Halloween as I walked out to my car (angrily since I'd missed it!). I think I remember there being air hockey tables and maybe darts? No one was playing them but you could.
