Just got home! Had a great time! Some good music, lots of good people, lots of good dancing! Could do without all the ice on the way home, but not so bad! Glad I wasn't one of the 4+ cars I saw on the sidelines facing the wrong way on the way home though..... XDXD

Thanks everyone for a great night, as usual! Much love! <3<3

Yeah I'm sorry for my horrid set. Equipment failure and all I can say is "shit happens".

Osaka sorry I didn't get to your Siouxsie and I'm also sorry I didn't play as much rockabilly as I wanted Joey. I had lots of other requests to fill and wanted to kind of keep the vibe going in between them.

I hope to see everyone next week when I will have hopefully tracked down and killed these computer bugs. I bitch about other DJ's enough and I think I hold myself to an insanely high standard because of it. But I like being a perfectionist.

I did however get my first tip ever at the works last night. I'm sure if I actually had a tip jar out I'd probably get more.

I'm really mad because my set two weeks ago was amazing and hardly anyone heard it because it was in the beginning of the night.

Expect the playlist soon btw.

Also I hope everyone made it home safe who came out. It was light night and day between driving there and driving home. Like the roads were just one large sheet of ice.

Don't give yourself such a hard time! Shit happens. There was good music. It was fun. All is well with the world. :happydance

I hear you on the ice though - it was insane. I saw at least 4 cars facing the wrong way on the side of the road on the way home. I'm glad I didn't end up being #5!

I had a great time last night, and it was nice to see more people at the Works. I enjoyed the variety of music and meeting a few new people. It was also great to chat with friends and dance for a bit.

I'm glad DJ Nocker played some Fields of the Nephilim. Thanks to Scary Guy for playing some Killing Joke too.

Unfortunately, the drive home was rough. I ended up swerving on the ice and taking out a couple of barrels. Thankfully I only lost my left side mirror, and there was no other damage. Have I mentioned that I absolutely HATE Michigan winters?

Actually you can thank Wilhelm for that one. I wanted to play the Icehouse cover but he wasn't digging it. Maybe next week I'll play that one.

Well, thanks to Wilhelm then...

I still enjoyed your set, Scary Guy.

Oh no!!! Sorry to hear about the mirror. Horrible ice it was... I'm glad everyone was okay.

Nonono, by "gothabilly invasion" I meant me and the other guy who used to be a Lab regular, not the music :wink.

GreyHalo, glad to know you and Mina are alright;had to be a real scare. Conditions weren't as bad where I was, thankfully. And sorry if I kept pronouncing my p's a little too hard. I noticed each time your hair kept blowing.

Equipment failure/malfunction's not a big deal to me. Have never been to a bar/club where that hasn't happened. I don't think it bothered anyone, SG. :wink

I didn't notice the pronunciation thing. As always, I enjoyed chatting with you about music and people.

I plan to be out there regularly.

Two people does not make for a "gothabilly invasion". I expect to see more at the SPAG show tonight. This town actually has quite a decen't *billy scene if they would all just get together for something other than a concert.

Same with the goth scene. It was like every goth in Michigan was at that last Sisters show.

Unlike the current "goth" scene, Detroit's still got a pretty healthy rockabilly scene. Pretty sure they can probably be found at The Berkley Front even when there isn't a show or at The Belmont. The usual hangouts in the past used to be New Way Bar,Lager House,Garden Bowl, and 2500 Club. Pretty sure Lager House still gets 'em as I still see the choppers outside. Haven't been there since they changed owners, though. Basically, they still hang out at regular bar nights that have no djs or themes. Lot of the rockabilly crowd used to show up back when Del Villareal used to spin at The Garden Bowl back in the late 90s.

Used to do my RUMBLE! nights at The Lab. Detroit's more punkier greasers,Koffin Kats, and Nuke & The Living Dead used to hang out there. Then when I was deejaying at 2500 used to get 'em over there, too, as well as the punkers, hardcores, skinheads, cab drivers, and 2500 regulars.

The Front you say? You probably know my friend Lyle who works up there then.
