Hello all,

Who: Alienare (with me in it)

Where: The Ugly Mug (Formally the Mud House)

At the corner of Cross street and Hamilton in Ypsilanti.

317 W. Cross st. Ypslianti MI, 48197

Phone #734-484-4684

(Very close to EMU campus!)

When: Saturday Nov. 20th; 8pm-Whenever we stop.

What: We perform an electro/dark/ambient/tribal/spookiness type of improvisation with lot's of

rhythms, synth, didgeridoo, loops, samples, etc... think Steve Roach meets Skinny Puppy

Not really dance but more armchair coffeehouse rhythm trance. On other more industrial

shows we alter our set to fit the crowd.

Why: Because you like to support local artists, and you like experimental music, with good

beverages and food.

How: I 94 to Huron exit towards downtown, Left on Cross, the venue is on the Left, park

wherever, or 23 to Washtenaw exit (Ypsilanti side), to Huron then Left on Cross etc... Or if

You are an Eastern Michigan Student...walk across the street!

Thank you in advance if you show up.

And I still love you if can't/won't/don't feel like it.

-Phee

edited it slightly to fit with Jarods new posting standard "template".

Also added a more official sounding post with all the above info to the DGN calendar. Good luck with the show. Hopefully you wont have to many drooling soowing women to fight off.

I might go if im feeling ok that day and can organize transportation. (still not driving regularly yet, health concerns)

I haven't been there, but have been all over Ypsi. The location is easy to find (that is, it's not tucked away on some obscure side street). I recommend Mapquest for directions since they indicate the one-way streets.

I also recommend taking a jaunt across the river via Cross St. (you could walk there from The Ugly Mug) to visit Sidetrack, a staple of Depot Town. Of course if you don't like alcohol and bar food, it may not be so good...

Sidetrack isn't soooo very bad, although I find they're a little high priced in the grand scheme of things. Although, it is nice to sit outside and eat in the summertime even though it's close to the road and, well, the railroad tracks. I suppose if you drink when you eat, it would be a bit better.

There is also Aubrey's as well as an ice cream shop and a cafe who's name escapes me at the moment. In the same block, there is also now a Quizno's.

I saw Phee and Phee'sBigHand! ;)

Drinks are yummy there too - had the best chai tea I've ever had. Intense cinnamon. Pretty good mocha drink too.

Phee played all manner of interesting instruments. I've never seen anyone play a digeridoo except on documentaries on PBS. I can't even guess what some of the other things were, but was fun to see how they fit into the rest of the music.

Marblez! I didn't spot you there :( Were you around the corner?

That's OK Phee. I have a horrible time recognizing people until I've seen them several times. I was the tired-looking redhead sitting with the fellow with the long blond hair, over by the door.
