it does look a bit better than the pictures i've seen of the post-bombing Dresden though.

Unfortunately having driven all over Detroit for years, working for Wayne county, in every back-woods ghetto area included, there is still a large portion of the city that looks just like that, (and a lot worse). Fortunately in the last decade or so it is true that Detroit is having a bit of a mild renaissance. =)

Oh yeah, there are much worse ones right next door. This is one of the lucky ones that is about to undergo reconstruction.

I sure hope Detroit keeps heading upwards....and takes my property value with it

This site here is pretty neat with the history and info about various urban blight places in detroit. Sort of a sightseeing guide. Spent several hours poking aorund there on various nights.
