the eternal
I'd offer to bring a dish but I don't know many ladies so I have no one to bring as a dish. Oh boy, I give up---I'd but I already played that one out, din't I? Anyhoo- Bean and I are making (chanukah) latkes!!!! They're yummy. You can eat them plain or with applesauce/sour cream. Anyone of Polish descent may already eat them all the time as potato pancakes. MMMMM!

the eternal
I promise, they will NOT be lowfat, low-cal, or in any way good for you. Except to be delicious. I just noticed your post. Make whatever you like, but since your recent interest in chanuka, I thought I'd mention sufganiyot. Less popular than latkes, it's the other chanuka food (kinda like pork is the other white meat) I'm sure you've had sufganiyot several times, or as the Polish Jews refer to them: pÄ…czkis I don't know about you, but I'm hungry!!! Edited to say, that in lieu of Paczkis, jelly donuts is a fine substitute.

After that I usually sleep for two days.

Lilac wine and myself are going to be making cold cut trays, spinach dip *my mother's mix*, veggie trays, and whatever else we can think of! After that I usually sleep for two days. They ARE Paczkis!! Sufganiyot is the Hebrew term for Paczki. Eating them started in Poland (where tons and tons of Jews lived until Hitler set up "camp" during WWII) and then the tradition spread to Israel and then everywhere else. But the main chanukah dish will always be Latkes, YUM YUM!
Fierce Critter
... spinach dip *my mother's mix*... Does it have chopped water chestnuts in it? I LOVE water chestnuts in spinach dip. Prefer it without onions, but I guess most people aren't onion-haters like moi.

Fin
Anything you would like to bring. Mostly just bring yourself. Candy & Odims-- That is a very nice invitation to everyone--thank you so much! That night, my work place has a black-tie holiday banquet I must attend, so I have to send regrets. But you'll obviously have excellent people there & it sounds like a great time! --Finny
