me and necromanta had a good time, I think the koffin kats put on a better show than the nekros. But they had a good set as well. there was a bigger turn out than I expected for sure.

I think you were right behind me. I was the short dude with the white Sex Gang Children shirt on. But me and Necromanta chilled a bit that night.

I have been dying to see Vic and the boys live. I adore Vic. What a fun guy to hang out with. You should see him all toned down when he plays a rare gig with the Gypsy Strings of Detroit!

Yeah....

Jeff came home from hunting around 8:30-ish and I got home from work around then. He mentioned it, and we both said we were just too tired to go. Last time we went, we were hanging with Vic, the Nekro's drummer, Mars Dust Doug, and I'm pretty sure that we saw Joey Deadcat, too. I guess I'll have to wait till next time to see the Koffin Kats live....

Yeah, I was there last time. Hung out afterwards talking with Kim noticing that I was the only tall Mexican there (their drummer is Mexican as was one of the psycho kids also hanging out). :laugh:

And what's this about some chick assaulting Shelby from The Chops Tops at this past gig?

So how about those skinheads at the gig? I can't believe the skinhead fandom in psychobilly. When I saw the Meteors it was the same.

There are tradskins who dig psychobilly. Used to be a few who would show up when I'd dj'd at 2500.

And, yeah, there are some WP-types as well who are into psycho. I remember 'em at the Meteors(I know who they are) and they were also at the Demented Are Go show I'd put together 3 years ago. They were behaving themselves there. Funny thing is that they know I'm Mexican and they still say, "hi" to me and shake my hand whenever they see me.

People will jokingly refer to rockabilly as the skinhead retirement plan. :laugh:

Haha, the skinhead retirement plan. I don't mind the trad ones, but the WP/asshole ones piss me off. Instead of unifying over an obvious love for the same thing (say a certain band we're here to see) they act like complete badasses and try and be intimidating. The one skinhead at the Meteors show who looked like Steve from Jerry Springer jumped off stage onto me. I landed flat on my ass.

hehe Ok... I knwothe girl that fell on the singer. yes... she was drunk and trying to keep balance.

Next.. the show ROCKED! As per usual... the Kats completely blew the main act off the stage (and not just saying that because they are friends and I work for them hehe) Their performance was amazing.

The Nekros were AMAZING though! They played SO much old stuff!

Missed ya Joey, was lookin forward to seeing you there.

oh just for fun too...

here is a video from soundcheck with little Andy from the Nekros rockin a cowbell solo and a video from earlier in the year i took one drunk night with the kats of Vic singing "Mother" by Danzig
