Worlds Smallest Political Quiz

Sounds perfectly correct for me:

You fall exactly on the border

of two political philosophies...

LIBERAL

LIBERTARIAN

LIBERALS usually embrace freedom of choice in personal

matters, but tend to support significant government control of the

economy. They generally support a government-funded "safety net"

to help the disadvantaged, and advocate strict regulation

of business. Liberals tend to favor environmental regulations,

defend civil liberties and free expression, support government action

to promote equality, and tolerate diverse lifestyles.

LIBERTARIANS support maximum liberty in both personal

and economic matters. They advocate a much smaller government;

one that is limited to protecting individuals from coercion

and violence. Libertarians tend to embrace individual

responsibility, oppose government bureaucracy and taxes,

promote private charity, tolerate diverse lifestyles, support the

free market, and defend civil liberties.

ACCORDING TO YOUR ANSWERS,

The political description that

fits you best is...

.

CENTRIST

CENTRISTS espouse a "middle ground" regarding government

control of the economy and personal behavior. Depending on

the issue, they sometimes favor government intervention

and sometimes support individual freedom of choice.

Centrists pride themselves on keeping an open mind,

tend to oppose "political extremes," and emphasize what

they describe as "practical" solutions to problems.

Your PERSONAL issues Score is 50%.

Your ECONOMIC issues Score is 60%.

Yeah, i took that about a year ago, and again just now, and got libertarian both times.

The reason so many people get libertarian is because it was authored by a libertarian website. they're trying to convert people to vote third party with a skewed test.

does anyone have a link to a non-partisan party alignment test?

The reason why the database is skewed toward libritiarian is not because the test is nessiarly scewed , its becasue the site that hosts it has a lot of people that consider themselves "liberal" but dont hold the purely old-school liberal values. Host any test on any site that has a "bias" and no matter how lazer-beam fair you try to make it the actual answers are going to (obviously) be bent toward one or the other side. Doesnt mean that the test itself is unfair.

As far as i can tell the test is pretty fair. I did do my homework on it before posting it. But there is exactly the same number of possible answers that could put you all the way at any of the cardinal directions. If you read how they made it they did i think an honestly good job of attempting to be as fair as possible with the mechanics behind the quiz.

They go into a lot of clear detail about it. Anyone can click on a site and scream "omg bias". Do some research on anything and often your first impression is not the same as your now educated impression.

The problem with the Conservative Vs Liberal thing is that it doesnt allow for mixing & matching of some ideas. For instance many people are Fiscal Conservitves (monitary policy) But soical liberals (social programs) Which does not have a place in the "left right right wing" scheme, along with many other mix & match deals.

Probablem with any quiz is people can have different spins on what the questions actualy mean.

That one that Gaf links to is likely to be more acurate as its a longer quiz. If you read the philosophy / mechanics behind both quizes they are pretty much identical. The shorter one is for the OCD victims that typically take such things. Makes me feel good that there are people out there that take time to do such things rather than just armchair quarterbacking like i do.

oh ... both of them put me Center.

Kinda sucks as atm im going through a bit of a political opinion crossroads. Probably will end up more right leaning than in the past still hopelessly centrist though. Stems from trying to view things as they will be several generations out, rather than how it effects me and mine right now.
