BrassFusion
Didn't know where to put this, but I figure it's got the potential to be an event and vampires ARE nightlife. I tried to go to SE Michigan Red Cross (in warren) to donate but I got deferred because my iron was a point too low. I'm going back next week... is there anyone who wants to go with me? Donating blood is very goth, especially when supplies are critically low.

BillyDeath
No. Goth's don't donate blood we drink it. It is a way to survive and be goth and not wear Izods.

Certain times of the month, y'know. I should be all set next week. My blood type is Be Positive =)

BrassFusion
Yay! so that's potentially jeremy, nerdcore, and melova. not sure what shift you work j, but i know mel is second and nerd is third (hahaha). A morning might be the best bet, although if y'all are planning to work later that day, make sure to eat a good breakfast and hopefully you've donated before and know your reaction...? I react very badly, honestly, but I'm usually in decent shape to drive after 20-30. I'll call you all later today.
sass_in_the_pants
You can get free ren fair tickets, too! When you donate blood, they'll give you a list of events going on this summer and you pick your top three choices. Depending on ticket availability, they'll give you your top pick. One of the options is ren fair. I have my voucher on my fridge right now. To make sure you can donate blood and that it goes quickly (this is especially important for the ladies) - drink PLENTY of water and the night before and during the day of, try to get some red meat, spinach, or beans in your diet (Wendy's chili does the trick for me) to make sure you have enough iron. Oh yeah, and if you've been pierced or tattooed in the last year then you can't donate. I'm an old pro at this donating blood thing. My record donation is 6 minutes and 12 seconds. Boo-yah. Lilith
LEstat and I will be doanting at church tonite at 7 p.m....... I have not donated since i had gotten pregnant 11 years ago...... I am actually excited to go casue i used to help with these things at my school when i was young and i sort of miss the whole experience. MMMMMMM COOKIES AND JUICE! Aside from helping those in need for those who do not have insurance this is a good way to find out if you have anything like HIV and the like becasue if you blood tests positve they will infact call you then hook you with numbers to help ya out and it is all confidential. LOL as a matter of fact part of my reasosn for donating when i was young was to avoid asking my mom to take me to a place to get it done.

Odds are good that I'll have to have surgery/blood drawn more as I get older. Might as well get used to pumping out some vein gravy before it's a necessity and I'm too freaked out to do it.
