Thanks for posting this Sean! The CD's are $10 in case anyone wants one tonight. If there is something you want us to perform, just ask. We go on at midnight and will play for an hour unless you guys wanna hear more. We will also have new T-shirts. Hope to see some people out not just for D:K but for the R.I.P. event. October 30th, we hope to have a lot of things going on throughout the club. At this point, I need a professional Belly Dancer and Fortune Teller. Also, if there are any local vendors that are interested in promoting their businesses, local goth related stores, etc let me know. After speaking with several of the DJ's we have decided to cancel the competition and just let the DJ's rotate on a regular basis with R.I.P. All of you will get a regular chance to spin in the Ballroom. With that said, please encourage your friends to come out and support R.I.P.

Even though the Lab is dead and Ascension UK is long gone, we will do our best to create an old school goth atmosphere that all of you can enjoy in R.I.P.. D:Konstruct had a good practice this past Sunday and we are ready to play the Ballroom once again. I just wanna say thank you to all of you who have come out to support Collective events and been a part of those events. I also wanna say thanks to all of you who have inspired me to get D:K up and going again. It is hard to be supported in your home town as a local band. This new album is all about the Detroit scene and our hopes that it keeps going forward and getting better. Please come out and support Nocker and Scary Guy and of course Aaron and Kat as we do our best to bring in the tunes that you like. See you Saturday!

Yes, Gothsicles/Caustic seem very easy to work with and wont cost us much. That means that the DJ's should make more which is what I want. Bella Morte will charge more and it wont be worth it money wise in the end. There will be a lot of people there and they will want to dance. I will also probably cater for the DJ's and Collective people for that evening myself. I will leave it up to you guys to how you wanna spin stuff that night. Get ready, I will have a flyer by next week. We will also be throwing a private party in Detroit somewhere in October if anyone's interested. It will be outside CC and a byob setting. One of our members has a warehouse that we will be using for our own little private night of craziness. If interested, let me know. I will be passing out little invite cards to the location at CC over the next few weeks. That's all I will say about this party for now. As for CC, lets get this thing going!

Thanks Nocker, I will keep that in mind. Oh, Scary Guy will also be with you guys on the 30th. Halloween is gonna be a big night. We may also have Bella Morte, Gothcicles, and possibly Caustic though not sure yet. Studio 54 may also be open and connected to the rest of the club. Sybil wants me to organize the whole night so I'm working on a few things. You guys though will be spinning in the Ballroom for R.I.P. though. I will also set you up in November and December as well. Stay tuned!The Ballroom will also be open an hour later so from 10-4am. The bands will probably only play 45 min sets as I dont wont that getting in the way of the DJ's.

Hollywood can't do the 16th so Pulse State will spin with Plastic Passion. On Oct. 30th, Nocker, Justin Carver, and Joey Deadcat will spin in the Ballroom. More info coming soon

Ok, finally, R.I.P. will begin on October 2nd, in the Leland Ballroom. This will be the first official night for the Ballroom becoming a gothic/old school retro lounge. We will have different DJ's spinning up through December in competition for the leading DJ's in 2011. We will also try to feature 1-2 bands usually at the end of the month. Come out and support the DJ's. We are going to try and make the Ballroom what the Lab/Ascension Uk vibe used to be. Scary Guy and Aaron Hingst will kick off the first one. D:Konstruct will also be playing around midnight a 1 hour set in release of our new album "Stars Burning Out', a tribute to the Detroit scene. We will have CD's, new shirts, yadda yadda, for sale. The CD's cost $10 for 11 tracks. A lot of time and effort have been put into this new album. It is for you guys, all of you. Many of your names are also listed on the inside of the CD. The cost for all R.I.P. events is $5 so that we can pay the DJ's. Please come out to all the R.I.P. events so that we can have a regular thing their for the old schoolers. This also balances out what the DJ's are spinning in the main room as well. I also want to just say thanks to all of you who have come out and supported what we have tried to do over the past year. Change of plans. CC just called me and said that one of the managers had already scheduled Sept. 25th, actually the 24th, 25th, and 26th as Erotica Ball weekend. As a result, we will begin R.I.P. on Oct. 2nd as well as the D:K cd release party. Scary Guy and Aaron Hingst will spin that one. I don't know about the 16th. For October 3oth, we will have Nocker, Joey Deadcat, and Justin Carver. In November, i don't know the dates yet: Hollywood, Plastic Passion, and Pleasure kitten, The first R.I.P. in December will feature Pulse State, and Frequency Mutineers. The new years bash will be everyone in a final spin off. I would encouruge you to attend all of the R.I.P events as well as that will also contribute to who we pick as the regular DJ's for the event. Remember though, we will feature others from time to time. I will post the other dates as soon as Sybil lets me know. If I have missed anything else please let me know. R.I.P. begins Oct. 2nd Oct. 30th Halloween bash Oc.t 16th ? usually we are allowed to only do two events but I'm gonna push the issue since we got bumped from the 25th. I will be contacting the DJ's soon about spinning for the R.I.P. events. The first event will be September 25th with Scary Guy and DJ Aaron Hingst. This will also be the CD release party for D:Konstruct as well which will play a 1 hour set around midnight. At this point, there will be 2 maybe 3 events in Oct. I'm still waiting to hear back from CC. Everyone involved will get an equal amount of time spinning for this. My advice to all of you is to get everyone you know coming to this event "all the time". The more people we have in there consistently, the bigger and better this will get. This also means more money for you. My goal is to pay each of you at least $75-100 per night at this point. However, that will depend on the numbers. The Collective will be providing a sound system. In fact, we are in the process of buying a new sound system and decor for the Ballroom for R.I.P. events only. When fliers are made, I will give them to you. It is part of your job to help us promote the event. Sorry for any misspellings. Let me know if I've made any mistakes or forgot someone. Thanks to everyone that came out last night. It was quite the wild evening all around and a good turn out. Between lots of balloons, half naked people rolling around in kiddie pools, and many people getting hosed with super soakers, not to mention the wonderful tunes by Frequency Mutineers, everyone I hope had a good time. A special thank you to all of you who hung out with us in the Ballroom and had some fun. Oh yes, to the girl that ran upon me and bit my shoulder and ran off, that was kinda hot:) Coming up in September will be our new event R.I.P. on the 25th a long with the D:Konstruct CD release party. i'm also trying to set something up with London After Midnight. If you guys have suggestions of goth acts please let me know. We want to bring in bigger acts that will be cost effective as well.

I also want to add that this isn't intended to be a fetish event. We thought it would be fun to try and create a summer beach like vibe that's all. There will be dancing. Come support the Bowling Green Frequency Mutineers team. They are an awesome bunch of folks who just want everyone to have a good time. Give them your song requests, dance with us whether you want to get wet or not. We will have a photographer taking pics for metromix there as well promoting what is going on at the Leland. I will be there to answer questions about our future R.I.P. retro goth nights starting Sept. 25th and to answer questions about D:konstruct if needed. There will only be a small section in the Ballroom with tarps and people with super soakers will be given specific instructions on not shooting people that just want to come in and dance. I hope to see you all out this Sat. It will be fun!

This competition will go on for a while up through Christmas. The Dj's will spin 45 minute sets. It will be a very dark ambient atmosphere in the Ballroom. We are going to call the night R.I.P. (retro in peace). I know that's a little cheesy but the idea is that it will be a retro night where goths can go and dance, hang out, whatever, in their own little world without any issues, problems, distractions, etc. There will be minimal lighting and some creepy decor is being planned as well. We will probably in the beginning have the DJ's battle it out with 4 per night until things settle down. However, we will have guest DJ's from time to time. There will be one night in November that we will not be doing this night as there is another Collective thing planned on the 27th I believe. Some months, there will be 3 Saturdays that we will do the event. I hope in the future to have an every week thing going on but this will depend on the crowd. My advice to the DJ's would be to keep the dance floor going, create the atmosphere, think old Lab/Ascension Uk days. My friends, it is all going to come back and it will be at the Leland. Let us all work together on this to make it a special night. Stay positive and enthusiastic about this. The more people we have come out for this, the more we will be able to do with the Ballroom for future events. And the good thing is that this will be a good balance for what is being played in the main CC room. The Collective themed events will tie in with the bands that we have playing each month. Sometimes, we may not have bands play. Gothic music is a pretty broad spectrum of different sounds and moods. Many people don't realize that. We can have all of that in the Ballroom but you have to encourage people to come out all the time. I also want through numbers to be able to pay our DJ's better because I think they deserve it. Why do I care so much? When I first moved to Michigan I had a difficult time adjusting to the city and making friends. The regular crowd at the Lab during the Resurrection days helped me to deal with a lot of things in my own personal life. It was a place to escape a personal refuge. And we may have made fun of what was played sometimes, but the crowd was positive and fun. PEOPLE WERE RESPECTFUL. Some of my Collective people want to throw in more variety but enough already with that. We need consistency, that is more people coming out all the time, not so much variety. That can come in time and with bigger and better shows. The fetish community have several venues to do their thing. The goth community not so much. The Leland has been around for years and that won't change. Please help me make this event fun for all. Help support the DJ's who have quite the challenge and work cut out for them. Come see the bands and cheer them on for entertaining you. Ok, I will get off my soapbox. Lets do this!

D:Konstruct is not playing this Sat. We will probably be doing our CD release party on the 25th. It will depend on whether or not we get them back from the factory within the next 2 weeks. I will let you know when we play. If you don't want to get wet, stay off of the tarps that we will have set up. We will spray people only on the tarps in the Ballroom. People can dance away from the tarps and still hang out with us if you'd like.

It would appear that I goofed up some of the dates listed above. I will send a new schedule as soon as I speak to Sybil. We will kick off the old school night for sure on Sept. 25th. I need to fix a few things though in Oct. because there are three Sat. events that month instead of two. I will post the corrected version within the week. sorry
