Unfortunately when a license is expired it is no longer considered legal ID anymore. With us being in a college town with a fully funded and efficient police force and an owner who take great pride in his buisness and does not want to see it jeopardized we are more strict than other places. On the flip side you know when you're there that the attention to detail we show at the front door continues throughout the building. Jinx

With almost 900 people just on the facebook page expressing an interest Monday is going to be amazing. I can't wait till you see what we have in store for this year. Last year we had over 850. Once again our favorite holiday is upon us! We've been planning this for months now and this year we're going over the top. Due to Halloween being on a Sunday and Monday falling on a another Holiday we don't celebrate enough we're doing something a little unique. We'll be doing 2 separate but equally amazing Halloween parties this year. On Oct. 25th will be the First Halloween party of the season and will set the bar for everyone else to to follow. Monday Nov. 1st Falls on the Day of the Dead (El Día de los Muertos) in keeping with this great holiday that's right up our ally we'll be doing an Dead/undead night as the Final Halloween party of the year. I had a blast tonight and as always Darks Choir did not disappoint. Betamax not only kicked ass opening but his artwork was fantastic on the CD. the track listing is below. Next Monday we will be playing late night Drunken Kick ball part 2. Last time we had over 40 people show up and we were only thwarted by a popped ball. Got out of work late and by the time I made it to Plastic Passion it was 1:50 and I could not get in. Don't blame the staff as we don't let anyone in past 1:30. Just writing a review for the new E.P. relax. No need to freak out. The CD is great and if a thread involves music that is coming out writing a short blurb about how 4 of the tracks did in an actual club it's a good thing. No promoter in his/her right mind would miss a chance to announce they have new music available that is exclusive to them for the time being. Of the 11 sentences written one mentioned our Necto. I actually lost a bet of how long it would take to post something sarcastic by 1 day. So thanks for meeting expectations even if it's belated. Please resist your urge to respond here and send it to my P.M. if you feel the need. Lets get back on the topic of how good /can't wait to have the E.P. released. Jinx

Forget my own opinion. Last night over 400 people agreed the new Rotersand is full of WIN!!!! Waiting To Be Born, A Number And A Name, War On Error (iVardensphere Remix) were all huge floorfillers. All 3 were met with a great response. Our older crowd really liked the updated interpenetration of A Strange Kind Of Love. The younger ones thought is was new. Lots of kids checking out the original on youtube today for sure. the vocals and beat are perfect for this interpretation. Cheers on a great piece of work. The ONLY place in the United State's to hear it for the next month will be at Necto. It is a testiment to our scene here in Michigan that we hyave been given this rare opportunity. Just got the EP today. I really like all of it. Several tracks and remixes that will sure to please any fan of their prior work and will make some new converts along the way. As a long time Peter Murphy fan the cover really works for me. Nice Piano interludes through the song over a quasi Trance beat. The vocals are crisp and somewhat haunting. All and all GREAT EP. I'll be playing most of the CD on Monday throughout the night. It's definitely worth hearing. BTW Krischan is the MAN for getting me an advance copy! Jinx

End played the Komor mix of Arising Hero at Necto last month when he was out. It's a great track. While I have not heard the Rotersand or Faderhead mix. I can say with absolute certainty based on my opinion and that of our dancefloor that the Komor mix and the song itself is a floor-filler. Jinx

We had an amazing 6 year anniversary last week. Over 700 of you danced to all our DJ's that helped make last year so fantastic. Void 6, Darks Choir, Audioflesh and Betamax all threw down great sets. The diverse styles from 4 different DJ's upstairs not to mention the longest running Drum and Bass night in Michigan made for a great night. With all of your help we have become the largest weekly night in not only Michigan but one of the top 10 attended in the entire country. In the past 6 years we've brought in DJ's and band's from all around the world. All the while never charging you more than $3. Let our past speak for whats to come. We're going up the ante this year and try and offer everything you all deserve. You choose to spend your time and money at Necto I promise we'll continue to show you how much we appreciate your commitment. This week marks the beginning of year 7! On our normal nights when we have no events going on Yoda comes on only once an hr between 11-1 and then for less than minute each time unless we are announcing an upcoming event. He screws up occasionally like anyone else but as a whole he does not ever speak over lyric's but gets it done in the breakdown's of songs to raise the mood. He spends 90% of his night downstairs freestyling with Teddy in the DnB room. The amount of people who say positive things about what he does by far out weighs any negative comments. Sorry that he doesn't suit you. But I do miss seeing you. Jinx

You can try and spin it that way but in this case if you start reading this thread from the beginning that is just not so. The 4th post was the first that started the topic off thread. It was made by Saint at 6:30 yesterday and was followed by 3 more posts from Nocker, Saint and Kat. Saint and Kat both discussed situations in where they respectively DJ'd in Bloomington Ind. and a Martini bar doing trip hop night. Neither having nothing to do with CC aftermath. By the time we get to post #11(my first one) the thread had gone off topic to the point that their were twice as many posts off topic then people actually posting about the the night of the 12th. In my post I agreed with what the other DJ's said,offered my own experience and I responded to a criticism that was posted about Necto in this thread. Which is more than justifiable. It wasn't until I made my first post that you decide to chime in complaining about Necto taking things off topic that is not how it plays out if you read. Reminds me of an old quote "never let the facts get in the way of a good story." Jinx

The thread has been jacked for sure only 4 of the 19 posts have to do with the night. No drama from anyone involved from anyone that I can see. Although to be fair is was Saint who got the ball rolling on post #5 by musing about quality over quantity. A statement a few of the other DJ's commented upon and it was all over with after that. It was a good discussion I thought.

People are just as rude at Necto as any other club in pretty much any scene. We put a lot of work into our monthly events and it usually shows in the increase in our crowd for the night. When offer quality product your going to be packed. I would not say we have a tiny dance floor by most clubs standards perhaps your just accustomed to clubs that don't get as many people so you have more room. Anyways glad you came out hope to see you next week Jinx
