The new series looks interesting~ I have been addicted to Dead Wood for the last 2 seasons *soooo goood*

I also watched Soprano's for a few years then tired of the characters.

I do really like Six Feet Under - me and Zhuk will be on the sofa this Sunday for the series finale. I don't know how they are going to wrap up the insane behavior of the last weeks episode *lots of grasping at straws seemingly* I hope to be pleasantly surprised.

Since I had a house fire I have had to miss the last 4 or 5 episodes, so dont spoil anything for me. I hope they will replay them after they are done with the series finale.

I will really miss that show. So well done, on EVERY level.

I forgot about Deadwood, very entertaining. Look forward to more of that.

I have also heard that HBO is doing another Band of Brothers type show, expect this one will follow a company of Marines during the Pacific War. Should be top notch just like everything else HBO seems to do.

Thanks.

It was a rather small fire, but it smoldered in the house for an hour and now everythinhg is covered with soot and smoke.

Thankfully we were not home at the time, but it certainly changed my life, having to find a new house and losing jujst about everything I owned.

The insurance co. called it a total loss, so I will get my money back from ALL the stupid shit i wasted money on in the past. So i will be using that money to pay off bills and maybe take a holiday somewhere nice.

Oh, and get some new clothes!

  • 2 weeks later...

Overall the pilot was gorgeous...I can't imagine how huge the budget is for this series - sheesh! Overall good acting and a very interesting/unusual looking cast. I hope that it doesn't devolve into a trite, orgy-ridden soap-opera....we shall see! There were 3 or 4 full-frontal scenes but no banana so far~ :grin

Yeah, I hope it doesn't turn into that. Its supposed to be very historically acurate...but only to a point. So far the dynamic between Caesar and Pompey is amazing. The first triumvariate is already formed between Caesar, Pompey, and Crassus about 60BC and not long after that Caesar is campaigning in Gaul at about 58 BC to about 51 BC. The series takes place at 52BC. I really hope they progress the timeline because I wanna see Caesar delcare himself the dictator of Rome after he crosses the Rubicon with his veteran legions.

Looks interesting. I plan on checking it out.

I am so sad though that 6 Feet Under is done though. I adored that show and was addicted to it. The last few episodes had me in tears.

I miss Carnivale as well and Dead Wood is pretty good. My husband loves it.

I am going to miss Sex Feet Under as well. I still consider it the best show ever made for television.

I missed the last month and a half of it or so, so I am hoping they replay the last season so I can watch them.

PLEASE NO SPOILERS

I'm really excited about it, but I know I'll miss some of it so I'll probably wait until it's on On Demand and watch it all at once marathon style. I hate it when I lose the continum of a storyline. But yes, it looks AWESOME!

Pompey was a lucky son of a bitch, got to bed the extremely hot Octavia and didn't even have to marry her!

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Octavia is really hawt! I don't think Pompey ever had any intention of marrying her, in fact, he looked reluctant to having sex with her! I would smile like a cheshire cat if I could "partake" in Octavia.

heh, no doubt.

That was a great full frontal nudity shot.

Pompey did look reluctant, but I think he knew that if he refused, Caesar would know what the deal was. Then he must have figured that if he went ahead with it, it would buy him a months time (his dead wifes morning period) to consolidate his position for the inevitable struggle with Caesar and then marry the woman he intended to marry all along. But boning Octavia and the not marrying her will, no doubt, inflame the situation and send Caesar into a rage.

But man, Octavia was smokin.

The carpet didn't match the curtains though. (not that I mind or anything, just an observation)

Not sure of the historical accuracy of this part of the show, I'll see what I can dig up and report back.

After all it is still a HBO show and if they make it too accurate they run the danger of too many people getting bored and loseing interest.

Octavia was super foxy...I like how her mother suggested more arsenic makeup to enhance her palor *of course they used Arsenic wafers and lead face paint for that ethereal pearly tone of skin* :wink I like all the detail~

Carpet and curtains? A Roman lady would have used a hairpeice with cochineal hairdressing when she went to "treat" with Pompey...hehe. Better than the usual mixture of boiled/concentrated urine most Roman women used to bleach their skin and hair *phew!*
