Hot Profit doesn't carry anything I can wear... they're amazingly un-curvy grrl friendly. Can't even wear the cheap cute jewelry 'cos of metal allergies. Only stuff I get there are Emily the Strange & punk/goth Hello Kitty knick knacks. & patches when I'm doing a new jacket.

I can't tolerate Noir, the staff are so incredibly snotty & hipper-than-thou... I don't need attitude from people who are young enough to be my kids... I get enough ov that at work. Of course I haven't been there in close to 10 years, for all I know they have a Prozac dispenser in the staff locker room now.

I agree that most of the female clothing at Hot Topic is made for waifs. You can't weigh more than 105 lbs. to look decent in most of their dresses and babydoll t-shirts.

On the other hand, the staff at Noir really varies. I've dealt with some really friendly and helpful workers there over the years. But, yes, some of the staff can come off as being snobby.

I did consider them showering after and actually I'm sure that it's quite the institution, for them, I know that I'd want to sit in the bath and possibly even sleep there, afterwards, with a nice stiff drink. -It's just that for the sake of making the most graphic post reasonable, I suggested that they may just get naked and bed that way. What a sweaty mess that would be.

I'm not really the latex type myself. I think it only looks good on sleek figures. However, Ted might be all about it. Though a gas mask might come in handy at CC, I can at least rely on my allergies to cut out some of the stench for me.

Ive got some inside scoop on Hot "Cr"opic's new marketing layout......supposedly they are taking on a new EDGE...OHHHhhhh designed to market after those that have been into the scene for years! Rather....going BACK to the edgy feel they had years ago until they started marketing highschool trendy kids

So in the next few months, they are getting rid of the Care Bear, Rainbow Bright feel and bringing in the Latex and chains. This is all happenign within the next 6 months from what I understand......cool huh?! :blink

They've some really cheezed out and overpriced things in Hot Topic, not to mention you have to actually go into and be seen in a mall if you shop at one and that is most humiliating/annoying of all. I really want to hate them...but then I've noticed that pants there are reasonably priced usually and not too bad, as well fishnet shirts and ladie's delicate unmentionable thingys-and they do have some cool albeit expensive wristbands there. I don't think that they sell sweatshop produced clothing, do they?

Yes, it's cheesy and overpriced. The quality is poor. Their line of Morbid Threads clothing is the shittiest that I've ever seen-it doesn't last! When it goes on clearance for 50% off, it's still overpriced. When it's the addtional 50% off the 50%, it's almost bearable, but not quite.

I've heard rumors about the stuff being made in sweatshops, but that's neither comfirmed by real people or denied.

Oh, and they're not owned by The Gap.

Hmmm, gothed out at hot topic??? They havent carried goth stuff in like 3 years. I havent been to oakland mall in a while but I bet they just pushed a bunch of those poser clothes off on you. Ive been forced into other means to find real cloths. I would suggest Noir Leather( in royal oak, also check website), they have some good goth stuff, also try Lip Service .com, also very good stuff.

I belong to a group of people that are buycoyting Hot Topic, There trying to blend Goth, Freak, Punk and everything else into one style so they can sell everyone the same cloths. there trying to save space in the stores to save money, cut down on marketing and all that capitalist bullshit. No self respecting goth or punk would get caught dead in those clothes. ( is that a condradiction in terms?) those clothes really only belong to the freak sceene. The store was started basicly for goths and now they thank the people that put them in buisness but selling us crap. I wont stand for this. HOT TOPIC SUXX!!!

Hot topic sux....theres so many other places to find better quality clothing. I certainly didn't get my vinyl skirt there. Noir leather is fairly good, lip service isn't bad but some of thier stuff isn't all that good either. Good "gawth" clothes arn't cheap unfortunuatly.
