Cradle of Filth

Obviously a lot of newer songs..... they played the 13th Ceaser, Honey and Sulphur, Tragic Kingdom I think, Darkness Incarnate, Gilded Cunt, Nymphetamine (of course), Cradle to Enslave, Under Huntress Moon, Godspeed on the Devil's Thunder, and quite a few songs I couldn't decipher due to being 2 feet away from the massive amps at front of the stage.

I know for a fact I didn't hear Funeral in Carpathia, though, which is by far my favorite COF song... and the studio edit version is my favorite song of any band. Also the Death of Love, off the new album. I'm more into the romantic, poetry aspect of a lot of Cradle's music as opposed to the heavy thrashing metal element. When they combine those is what has made me such a dedicated fan.

Feel free to ask Dani why the fuck they don't do more female-centered writings in concept, lol. I hear of obscure murderers through COF's music and then research them, learning as I listen. I'd like to learn about my own sex's diabolical past though. Bathory is dull at this point.

Wow, they went for 2.5 hours last night...so very sore.

I didn't get to interview Dani though...neither did anyone else. While we were waiting for eveyone to leave some girl jumped off the balcony which is three stories up...its happened before but never on the top one...and they were either stopped or caught. This girl must have run and jump or something because nobody knew what happened until it was too late.

Yeah, they went about 3 hours I'd say for me as well. Sepultura did a great job, too. My friend had never heard them before, he's relatively obsessed now.

There was a pretty funny local band playing before the big boys came on. I don't say that offensively, but they were trying to do that thing where you rile the crowd up by including them in the song. And they just kept trying.... but nobody was jumping on the wagon lol. In their honor my friend and I now quote the infamous lyrics frequently.

Band: I HAVE A ROOM FULL OF SKELETONS!

Crowd: SEPERATE THE BONES FROM THE LIGAMENTS!

Very interesting conversation topic when nobody else is in on our random bursting into song.

I wanted to go but once again I was broke and had to much school work. I bet it was pretty kick ass. I'm not a fanatic but I definately recognize the musical talent that's behind them and Paul Allender kicks ass on guitar. I think alot of people over look that because of Dani's taste in screeching, which I agree can be a little over done and ear damaging. The way I have learned to really appreciate Cradle Of Filth was to take them in small doses and then going all out. I remember seeing one of their albumns Bitter Suites To Succubi in Best Buy and my parents had "forbidden" me to purchase it because it looked "satanic", but of course I did it anyway when they weren't around. That albumn kicked it off for me with them and ever since that one I have appreciated them. I haven't heard their new albumn Godspeed On The Devil's Thunder but I will definately check it out at some point.

Dani Filth splashed his water right on my chest... now I have said water bottle. Lol he threw it and nobody went for it, plus I was So thirsty with no money to spare. So I drank what was left and felt obliged to keep it as a memento at least for a few months.

Also great t-shirts. Great concert over all. I love those assholes. lol some kid in line behind me said he asked for Dani's autograph when nobody else was around and the guy was a prick about it. That's why I tend to idolize music, not the stars who create it.

I so would have kept that bottle and given him drugs to sign it, if I had any he liked or did. I can understand his perspective on autographs because if I was a rockstar and somebody wanted my autograph I would probably be sketchy about it and if they were just going to ebay it and market me. Plus I think it would be fairly annoying having to stay 2 hours after performing a show to sign autographs. When I was Tool in Columbus Ohio they darted out on the tour bus before people had a chance to aggrevate them about autographs. I did get to meet Maynard one time, this was so random to. I was in Nashville and I stopped at a gas station and there was a giant tour bus there and nobody in the gas station knew who he was. I recognized him but didn't have pen or paper and I said like an idiot "Maynard!". He turned around and flicked me off, but he shook my hand before leaving, heh it was pretty funny.
