Dead-Line is MOVING to Wednesdays

I plan to get well so I can get out there on the 14th. Maybe you guys will actually play my music requests...

Hi have we met? I'm the DJ that actually will play requests.

There are a few prerequisites but mine are different than most DJs.

1. Of the genre. I'm not going to go into a sports bar and request Siouxsie, so don't come into my bar and request whatever mainstream crap is obscure.

2. If I JUST PLAYED THE BAND then don't request I play them again, or the same artist/singer/etc..., or a mix of that song. Or at least don't get mad if I wait an hour or so to play it.

3. I like obscure so I'll play the popular tracks, but if something gets requested every week I'm going to start hating it pretty fast. Go download it at home or buy it on CD giving the artist actual money. I might switch to two week rotation on certain good songs. We don't want everyone getting sick of said awesome track (although if enough people annoy me I might play it anyway just to shut them up).

4. Don't complain you can't dance to something. If it has a regular beat you can dance to it. Hell you probably can't even dance anyhow so stop whining.

5. No whining or I'll blacklist you from making any requests.

6. If you have a CD you want to bring in that's fine. If I already have the track I'll let you know. I will listen to your track before hand to make sure it's "good" and won't skip or screw up making me look like an ass. I can look like an ass on my own, and don't need any of your help.

7. If you don't like a song let me know. If I get enough people telling me they hate a song/band then I won't play that song/band.

8. If it's too loud or not loud enough you're too old to go to the bar. Go home where you can adjust your own volume level.

9. When making requests be sure to say things legibly so I can understand them. If I have to play guessing games at least give me enough information to go on. I also hate guessing games.

Remember us DJs have feelings too. Usually it's a feeling of superiority and that we're better than you but I'm not one of those pretentious assholes when I DJ (just with everything else). I'll do my best to accommodate and add to your clubbing experience and IMO I'm just there for the music anyway (and the people... I guess) so it's obviously priority #1 for me. If anyone has any complains they can voice them to me and I'll listen. However if you keep on with the complaining I'll direct you to a brick wall, in the back, where the other DJ plays so I don't have to deal with you.

We're all there to have a good time, don't ruin it for me and I'll try not to ruin it for you :D

EDIT: Feel free to make any requests you have here BEFORE HAND so I'm ready with them when you get to the club.

I've always interpreted those complaints as, "we caann't disco-dance/swing glowsticks to iiitt!".

They never play my requests for Clan of Xymox at CC. I think it's a legit band to request.

Perhaps it does have something to do with glow sticks...

I have Clan of Xymox's entire discography including videos. I meant to get it anyway but really stepped up my efforts on it when DJ Saint requested some about a month ago.

It's ok, they won't play any Sisters of Mercy either after 11 or before 4:00. I can't remember the last time I heard them in CC.

Since I like them too, a lot, it's almost a guaranteed play.

GIVE MORE REQUESTS! NEED DATA! NO DISASSEMBLE!

there will be tons of guest dj's & we will also be having go-go dancers.

more info very soon.

Go-go dancers? That's goth/industrial (HEAVILY sarcastic), one of the things that kept me away from Mephisto's actually, aside from all of the other bad reviews. I expect to see shit like go-go dancers and stripper poles at jock bars, I can't say I like that fact that "goth" is going in that direction also, but whatever...let the scene sellout, punk is already dead so why not do the same to goth? Hot Topic already started .

I will not let it deter me from going though, the music set-up sounds WAY better than CC (which isn't hard to do, CC has the worst playlist than other goth clubs because teeny boppers and preppy girls in "goth" clothing took over, and DJs REFUSE to take requests from people who don't listen solely to oontz oontz oontz oontz EBM), Wednesday is a bit better for me, the fact that Thursdays have been so hectic for me is why I haven't stopped in yet.

damnit, why is that so hilarious....

...because, truth is funny on occasion. I keep seeing people with glowsticks at CC and I always can't help but think: Isn't this girl supposed to be at a RAVE someplace? But then I remember that raves are so 90s meaning the glowstickers are now raveless and now invade CC. I dunno, I dig cyber-industrial, but never liked the glowsticks. That's just me though, especially because swinging glowsticks on strings do not make up for real dancing imo, that and I hate getting pelted with them. All of us are crammed in like a Tokyo subway trying to dance and here comes some chick taking up THREE FEET of damn space like she owns the fucking place, twirling glowsticks on ropes, so I also think the glowstick thing can be rude sometimes since I've been hit before.

I will say, in the defense of people that are REALLY good at it and can do some MAD tricks with them, it's impressive, but most people with them at the club really do not know wtf they are doing, they're just trying to look cool and it doesn't work.

The go-go dancers with glowsticks are an annoyance.

I've been hit with glowsticks before as well. I don't think they should be allowed at CC for the same reason that other things like chains aren't allowed.

Well I think the go-go dancers are a good idea. Because it brought people out to Mephisto's partly too. I'm all about not having them because it saves the venue money. But if they bring people out who spend then it makes the venue money. Lets face it, we care about the scene, but we need to make money too in order to keep the night going which is really the bottom line. So even if you go and support the night, if it's not making the club money it won't last very long.

I never thought of that! That's so fucking unfair!

So they promote all these fad ravers who aren't even really goth/industrial and are bringing in shit to hit people in the face with while dancing...and yet actual goth/industrial people are persecuted for how we naturally dress, because many goths, especially old schoolers, wear chains.

CC is so messed up...I still wonder why I go there every so often...oh right, to see you guys! Yay for DGN night being the only reason I still go to CC , you DGNers definately make it worth the trip and cover :grouphug:.

a few decent dancers never hurt anyone, especially if they dance to some puppy.

didn't goth die long ago?

you need to see the recent episode of south park, where the goth kids have it out with the "vampire" kids.

the goths burn down hot topic in order to end the spread of vampire kids.
