I've done some Krav, and have a friend who got locked into a year long contract. IMHO it's a good "realistic self defence" plugin for other more complete, systems of fighting.

Not even a little. More like Sambo. In Russia and Eastern Europe all the wrestlers, judoka, and sambo guys all train together so their style of Judo is different than classical Japanese Judo.
