Enishi
It did seem to me like there could have been more stuff going on, but since I've never been to a previous event, I don't really have anything to compare it too.

Vena
Hello, My name is Vena and I first want to thank the people here who made those wonderful compliments about me. I'm beyond flattered and am very grateful for your kind remarks. I also want to thank those who attended X-BALL over the weekend. A friend told me that there were some grumblings about the weekend. Sadly, I wasn't able to make it to X-BALL and meet you because I've been stuck in Los Angeles getting ready for a 3 day photoshoot for a new clothing line. My poor partner had to "hold the fort down" while I tried my best to run things over the phone. I'm still trying to find out what happened with the VIP room. X-Ball has always been a "mini Exotica". Naturally we wouldn't have the same number of shows, nor can we afford to have all our bigger name performers there. By the same token, we also charge half as much. X-Ball is not about turning a profit, instead it is about keeping the spirit of Exotica alive during the "down months". Moving to Clutch Cargos was a huge risk but we were willing to take a hit for it because our guests deserve much more than the previous venue. As for "titties and penises", we have to appeal to a broader audience whenever we throw parties. I also am involved with several fetish and erotic events in Hollywood such as Bondage Ball, Sexopolis, Fetish Disco, and the West Coast Fetish Ball. It's taken us years to slowly prepare even the Hollywood crowds to be accepting of anything but "plain hetero" shows. In order to throw such parties, our expenses are through the roof. We're talking tens of thousands of dollars, usually out of my own pocket. Unfortunately, this means that we have to appeal to a broader audience to help us pay for theese expenses, while slowly pushing the boundaries a little more each time. With each Exotica and X-Ball, we're taking baby steps towards more risque shows, more edgy statements, and less away from the vanilla mainstream. It's obvious that many here at DGN are more socially developed than the general populace, but remember that you're a minority thus far. Believe me, I would love to throw a party in Detroit tomorrow that has an even mix of Drag Queens, Leather Daddies, Fetish Models, Cowboys, Bikers, Punks, Goths, and Muppets, all happily partying together... and with your support and some more pushing on our end, that may happen soon. But believe me, if I were to do this tomorrow, only 10 people would show up and there'd probably be riots by the local villagers, and I'd go broke. My goal is to slowly push the boundaries a little more each time, slowly break down the walls of prejudice and fear. Shocking people does not work, but nudge them a little each time and you might find a more responsive herd. And with that, I promise you that we are working on reaching out to more diverse communities and lifestyles for Exotica 4 this November. Remember, baby steps... On a final note, I do want to apologize to those who posted above and did not enjoy themselves at X-Ball 3. Msterbeau, TheOsakaKoneko, industrial_girl_2000, Enishi, DBK, Chernobyl, Reverand, jcheeka, and everybody else who posted above me... I'd like to put you on my guestlist for Exotica 4. Please send me a PM here and give me your names so I have you each listed for a free weekend pass at Exotica 4. I've performed at events around the world and have found Michigonians to be the nicest folks so I believe that Detroit deserves to be on the fetish map. I promise you that we are going to throw everything we have into Exotica 4. Skin Two Magazine is involved, Marquis Magazine is attending, Morphine Magazine, AVN, Xbiz Premiere, local radio, ... my friends Tim Woodward, Emily Marilyn, Lithium Picnic, Steve Diet Goedde, Perry Gallagher, Tommy O, Aradia Ardor, Ruby Luster, and much more... they're all flying in from around the country. Yet a few other friends such as Darenzia, Perish, and Angela Ryan are also thinking of attending. I've already scheduled fashion shows with 3 huge latex couture designers, and one of the top corset couture designers in the world. Xris from Smack! New York is DJ'ing, we have another surprise celebrity DJ'ing, I've received RSVP's from people from Europe and nearly all 50 states. If you can't already tell, I'm really excited. If all goes well, Exotica 4 will be as big as the German Fetish Ball, Torture Garden, and overshadow even Bondage Ball, West Coast Fetish Ball, and Sexopolis! chaosgypsy
This. Actually I think we should be able to get our money back - they promised in multiple places shows in that room, and I am 100% convinced there was not a single one. I checked it out at at least 4 times at which I was told there would be a show in there, and no show. Not that the shows on the main stage were all that impressive, but it's the principle of the thing. Luckily $20 is still less than I'm accustomed to paying for events, or I would have made a bit of a stink about it. But I am convinced that no one involved in the putting on of this event has any idea what they are doing. Hey there, I am sorry about your expeirance with the vip room. I think Vena might have contacted you and others but we will be happy to give you free passes to Exotica 4. We did have a couple performers not show up for our vip room. So hopefully you will give us a second chance

I was just disappointed about the overall thing, and my disappointment with the VIP kinda colored the rest of the event, so I think I was a bit hard on it - after all, it's only a $10 event. It certainly wasn't a bad event in any way - you should just do away with the VIP thing. ^^ Anyway, I already talked to her about it a bit, and I am very looking forward to Exotica. I really hope I didn't piss anyone off too much with any bad-talking about the event. I know it takes a lot of effort.
