so I did a little digging and..... they are German (surprise surprise), he calls himself... you ready for this? sit down... wait for it...wait..... Dead L-Vis. yep you read that right. Their myspace page is filled with entertainment. Check out their tagged photos and be ready to laugh and the fact he isnt a small man and he has some hilarious on stage pics of him in some way too tight leather pants with a nice muffin top. Also his tattooed bitch tits make an appearance in a few of the shots. (edited cause I R spell guud)

i love the completely "normal" girl he is singing about too... i kinda wish she was completely redicu-goth like him instead... would be much funnier.. though this is absolutely great still... ive watched it three times total now laughing harder each time

Doug had an awesome time! Gogol are just amazing musicians and the way their music is put together is just genius! Though I would've liked to heard certain songs 9where was 'Dogs were barking" "Avenue b" "American Wedding" "I never want to be young again" or "Underdog World Strike"?!?!?!) they were ultra entertaining! It was great seeing Spook and TWB again and finally meeting Rev and OMG! (ps definitely down to meet up sometime you two) and the backstage pass... yeah that was dumb... we stood in the damn venue for 30 minutes after the show to find otu they were just sitting behind a table and you got to shake hands/get an autograph and move on "meet and greet" style... we were a bit pissed at that and didnt even go through with it...

hehe I was sworn to secrecy about this show about two months ago... im so effin excited for this one. The Brains are EXCELLENT and are awesome live (caught em in london ont last june)! If you can, talk to one of them after or before the show and listen to their huge thick french canadian accent then the lack there of when he sings. its pretty entertaining also please for ANYONE going to this scream for the song "Vamos" when The Brains play... its an awesome song and you wont be let down. The entire song is in spanish which is just fun coming from a guy with such a thick accent
-
the new Tori is also a let down hehe... I love her early albums but since "to venus..." its all been not really good.
-
so not impressed... this is one of those moments im really irked at myself for NOT downloading it first before I bought it... And im pretty open to his changes in style/structure... I have been a fan since 95 and I even like "Eat me Drink Me"... (Holywood and Antichrist are my favs) this one just doesnt cut it... I have only been able to make it through half the album and one track has even sparked my interest (Rusted Horses) though the single Arma-goddamn-motherfuckin-geddon is catchy.... all in all... download it first or atleast find some snippets

PETA wants Pet Shop Boys to change band name
MarsDustDoug replied to pleasurekatzen's topic in Music Discussion
So I brought this up to my crackpot peta friend and he poses and amazing point that we have all fallen into with this topic. We paid attention... as much as their requests and ideas are completely inane and out of rational frame of mind... they make us pay attention to them and sometimes even visit their websites... now... Think of it this way (im a huge fan of marketing and PR stuff so this intrigues me and I gotta hand it to them im a bit jealous of how well this works) If 10000 people all see this article and 5000 of them go visit a peta website and out of that half 1000 join their cause... they win. peta doesnt really expect The Pet Shop Boys to change their name.. but it made us all read and talk about them. They follow the "no publicity is bad publicity" idea. Like the half naked people prostesting... We look, we remember, we talk about it. They win... next part of this that I understand but still find ignorant... Yes peta kills animals every year like crazy. But, they are not a shelter. they are a fanatical group of douchewads. Truthfully the animals they do euthanize are usually in such bad shape its inhumane to let leave them be. I do find their idea that the entire world has enough space to grow enough crops to feed everyone in a vegan way to be ridiculous. Plus... where do all the animals removed from the meat industry supposed to go? Growing this insane amount of crops would encroach into wild habitat that is left alone at the moment... That would drive out wild animals into the cites where they would inevitably be killed by a car or lack of space, etc in closing... peta is completely inane over the top marketing genius whackjobs. /rant off
