  1. Although normally a vegetarian, I think I might have meat for dinner tonight in honor of PETA's gaff.
  2. Does PETA have any concept of trademark rights, publicity rights, etc. or are animal rights all they care about? The band has been performing under that name for two decades. Sure, bands like Frontline Assembly have varied their name slightly, but they're still Frontline Assembly. At least these animal rights people are too scared for the moment to go after tarantulas.
  3. Every band should cover some of their inspiration's works just to see if they're on the level. Naturally, they shouldn't publicly perform said covers unless said covers are better than before in some way and in their own style. I want to cover Darude "Sandstorm" on accordion with a good Doktor and my laptop backing me up one of these days a la Zoe Keating. Seriously, Techno Polka or Industrial Polka can't possibly be anywhere near saturation.
  4. You are what Meme cooks. I've had her cooking and it is tasty. Therefore, you are tasty.

  5. So, after hearing Front 242 "Headhunter" nearly every single club night I've been to in recent memory, I've decided to make a ragamuffin headhunter outfit. What says "headhunter" to you?
  6. Carl Off - Carmina Burana 1st Movement "O Fortuna" Apoptygma Berzerk - O Fortuna Never Dies Apothoesis - O Fortuna There's several versions out there partly because of copyright claims by owners of the Carl Off composition, which is based on 12th century church recruitment hymns. The following is from the Wikipedia article I like the dark, dramatic intro and the cool quotes one can spout off on a bad day.
  7. So, shaving off your entire eyebrows is perfectly fine? I haven't had eyebrows since February 2007.
  8. You are a ragamuffin and you are tasty.

  9. Today is Prickle-Prickle, the 31st day of Discord in the YOLD 3175

What random acts of randomness have you done?

  10. Prince of E-Ville (Mix by Caustic) by Combichrist
  11. If sewing machines were not so heavy and particular...
  12. Didn't he record a song that sampled a critic spouting off just like you? Yep. Combichrist - Get Your Body Beat - "What the Fcuk" "Can't really do it yourself, so you found another way to be heard. And even if I were to change, do you really think it would be more like you? I've got better things to do than listen to you cry." As for Bauhaus, the bats have left the belfry. They're gone. Not touring any more. Maybe XPQ-21. To be honest, I don't feel Aaron can bring big names or classics to Detroit since, judging by the aftermath, he's not ready to play with the big dogs. I would love to be proved wrong by seeing a few big bands come to Detroit under his banner.
  13. Researching ruins while hacking up my lungs.
  14. http://www.detroitgothic.net/index.php?showtopic=28674 Ever consider ganking a few playlists and see who comes up most often at times when the floor is full?

  16. The opening band was XXX Car Ride. I listened to them for a few songs before deciding that this rock-band-pretending-to-be-industrial wasn't cutting it. The BMM girl wailing horribly off-key in pastel dreadfalls happens to be (appropriately) known as Siren. She's been featured in a number of Noir Leather ads. They had a few good beats, but, in my book, got more points for fashion than for music. I feel they may have musical potential if they were not under pressure for opening up a band of such international fame as Funker Vogt. Funker Vogt was exciting. The moshing was fun. I can't wait to see DJ Noir, Robotic Kitty and their friends again. Chicago FTW. And yes, this should have been in the main room regardless due to the ferocity of the pit.
  17. Chilling before unpacking a borrowed van to go get some furniture and a fridge a friend doesn't need.
  18. I like Covergirl Clean in ivory or Neutrogena SPF 95 sunblock dusted with with CG translucent or plain old corn starch. I use cornstarch to avoid talc in loose powder. I'll use either NYC or Manic Panic liquid eyeliner if I want the blackest black or any retractable pencil for precision. However, the best pencils that I've ever had were some Maybelline red pencils. They're the kind you take a lighter to. CookiePuss, if you can find it, makes a very great loose eye dust. If I want a grunge look, I'll use Manic Panic. For stage, I recommend Kryolan and Mehron. Lynch's House of Sequins carries both. Kryolan Aquacolors when applied right works very well and does not easily come off. I've tried Graftobian's eye shadows and wasn't pleased because their black wasn't black enough. Of course, one does not have pure black on stage.
  19. It depends on who's doing the whipping. I'm also scheduled to be there. I'm packing a wide variety of acts for this show this morning. This will be the LAST time I will be performing various sideshow acts in the Detroit area until the end of May.
  20. Of the fetish skits that I've seen recently, your skit is one of my favorites because you and your partner chose to present in a very fun and light manner something that could conceivably happen in a bedroom any day of the week without a major production. Assuming, of course, that you have unusual bedroom furniture.
  21. I don't wash my hair unless I'm getting either smoke or hairspray out of it. Usually that ends up being once a week, which is fairly good for dreads. Of course, by wash, I mean "rinse in soapy water or maybe scrub with a bar of soap". I don't mind dyeing my bangs once every few weeks with a vegetable dye (special FX, adore, etc.) because that takes only a small amount of dye. My problem areas are the parts that were dyed black and then lifted 2-3 times. Once hair gets that damaged by lightening, one can either cut it off or go to a salon.
