  1. I've heard it can have its crazy nights. I've had to ward off angry drunks who didn't like what I was playing before. Hello Double OO pub partons!
  2. S.C.U.M. ooo! I just might have to now. Visions Arise is such a powerful song, I have so much respect for those kids. They're all in high school still!
  3. I sense a future Motor City Motion Pictures flick....haha!
  4. Expect a rather good set. Looking forward to seeing the coolest cat in Detroit!
  5. Japanther at the Trumbullplex April 6th Jason Webley at the Trumbullplex April 10th The Horrors and the Kills at the Magic Stick....May 10th (I think...) Bunch of other stuff!
  6. Thanks man. I do appreciate it. I'll hopefully be out this Wednesday to see all of the hulabaloo.
  7. I'd LOVE to, if theres ever a chance. I know Scary Guy and Stevie (David Blunk). Stevies a real gent for playing coldwave and minimal in the mix!
  8. It was silly. Even Jello Biafra said "the British music press had the gull to call it Positive Punk"! Listen to "Afterwards" by Artery and tell me thats positive! But I guess compared to The Exploited and singing about hating your parents and drinking beer, singing about life, death, religion, and impersonal feelings is kind of nice.
  9. Rightfully so, goth is a form of punk.
  10. Dude, I wish. I've been so tight on money and job hunting that I haven't had much time for clubbin' sadly. Maybe soon. The playlists look excellent.
  11. Great song, if you like them, check our Orange Juice and the Fire Engines!
  12. After you hear stuff like Public Image Limited, Wire, Josef K, Fad Gadget, Crass, Sex Gang Children....punk just seems like childsplay!
  13. Goth was a reaction because goths found the punk scene's three chords, drinking, OI OI OI, brash, masculinity boring and played out. I personally believe it still is. I can't name one punk band besides the Stiffs Inc in the 90's who brought something INTERESTING to the table. Just me. Mind you this was 1982, so not much has changed. But gothic punk still was punk. And I'm not slagging punk, my life would be empty without anarcho/peace-punk, the Adicts and such. But goth was a reaction to the mundane punk they loved, but just wanted to play around more with. Have more fun!
  14. Gloria Mundi, UK Decay, Adam and the Antz, Bauhaus, Rocky Horror Picture Show, A sense of humour, boredom of the punk scene, romanticization of love, death, religion, and taboo naive subject matter, a fascination and appreciation for the beauty in everything. Boom, suck it. I did it in a run-on sentence. Didn't even mention the word black in there.
  15. I really don't go to CC. I am not into EBM/Futurepop/Synthpop or the likes. Perhaps if it makes a turn around into an actual goth club, we'll talk!

:) So where you from? I live in Belleville myself.

  16. Howdy. Nice to meet you, I'm Justin.

  17. Bauhaus . Go Away White It was refreshing...and very decent.
  18. The 3-D Invisibles are playing soon at Paychecks.
  19. The Horrors and Loto Ball Show (ex-Phantom Limbs)!
  20. Koffin Kats (creative, hammer horror, energetic, remains very loyal to Michigan despite being touring whores, haha) 800Beloved (simply beautiful stunning post-punk, they remain mind blowing with every listen) Pussy Pirates (Jazzy no-wave ala The Slits/Bush Tetras, great stuff. You got to love their panache and energy. Really friendly people too) Genders (Defunct, but great dub/post-punk) Jak (Defunct, but great mathy-no-wave-ish stuff. Neat) Charlie Slick (Fun!) Tyvek (Cool art-punk) Nuke and the Living Dead (Defunct, but a damn good ole time!) Country Bob & The Blood Farmers (Got to love Tex and co) Trapdoor Spiders (Remains of Gargoyle Sox, great rockin' gothic rock) Atrocity Asylum (my friend's gothic folk band, a very classy deal)
  21. Sex Gang Children - State of Mind
  22. Cybergoth fashion, uck. I don't see the goth aestetic at all. Its more industrial than anything gothic punk. But more importantly, SCENE/HIPSTER Fashion. Gawwwd. Mini skirt legging combos, raccoon hair, ironic shirts, "vintage clothes" that cost you 80 dollars at Urban Outfitters. Lame.
  23. Dignity Those Ore-Ida Microwavable french fries in a box Respect Self Control Detroits goth scene
