DJ Saint's Achievements

  1. Also this is a bit misleading on that history page… none of these bands listed below performed at City, just simply hung out… Leland City Club has hosted several renowned musicians, including Skinny Puppy, Depeche Mode, the Beastie Boys, Smashing Pumpkins, Public Enemy, Rob Zombie, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nine Inch Nails, and Marilyn Manson.
  2. When I was promoting with Darque Productions we did quite a few shows back when at City Club including… Wolfsheim Covenant Haujobb VNV Nation Apoptygma Berzerk Decoded Feedback Backspace (my old band) Alien Sex Fiend Velvet Acid Christ Din Fiv (I designed the concert posters/flyers for most of these) Currently with Industrial Detroit we’ve done the following events at City: Severed Heads Enduser Cervello Elettronico Karl Meier Mvtant Killbourne Club Music Mother Juno Ritual Howls Lower Tar Comfort Cure Kontravoid Adult. Pod Blotz Kris Baha Stave Semantix Snowbeast Freeze etch The Brvtalist Mono No Aware and likely a few more I’ve forgotten. Also Love and Rockets never played City Club.
  3. With the success of the first event, we’re doing it again... Saturday, February 17th B L A C K P L A N E T Goth | Deathrock | Batcave | Dark Post-Punk No industrial. No EBM. No techno. Just the haunting moody vibes of acts like Sisters of Mercy, Bauhaus, Corpus Delicti, UK Decay, The Damned, Cinema Strange, Killing Joke, Christian Death, Siouxsie and The Banshees, Birthday Party, The Cure, Joy Division and PLENTY PLENTY more. A TRUE GOTH NIGHT! DJ Justin Carver (Something Cold) & DJ Church (City Club alum) spin goth vinyl! Once again taking place at the High Dive - the perfect dark atmosphere for Black Planet with its salvaged architectural arches transformed into stunning art pieces. No dress code, but goth attire is always encouraged! 9pm - 2am | 21+ | $5 The High Dive 11474 Joseph Campau Ave, Hamtramck, MI 48212 Come lurk in the shadows!
  4. Who's the "Trump of goth clubs"? Small's is welcome to do their own thing and Justin/Myself will do nights for you all. It's not a competition to us - different deeper music and different vibe. From the feedback heard - we gave those who attended, a unique experience they don't get weekly elsewhere. All good to us. Crowd was good IMO. We were happy those who chose to come to Black Planet did so. Noelle has no issue with you Scary Guy, and likely wouldn't have given you any shit for re-entry. It was good to see you friend, but please leave the negativity and 'head scenarios' at home. Don't let that self-imposed shit ruin a good time. Worry about yourself versus others and come out for the next one - enjoy the music, friends and High Dive.

For those who haven’t been to the High Dive - it’s the perfect atmosphere for Black Planet with its salvaged architectural arches transformed into stunning art pieces. 6. PRODUKT 313 - AKTION.15 VERY EXCITED for this one. We will be joined by the one, the only, legendary City Club DJ J9 for this aktion of Produkt 313!!! J9 was a resident DJ at Detroit's premier dark dance club from 1999-2009 and in that decade established herself as a trailblazer in the scene (often dominated by male DJ's). Blending a mix of goth and industrial, alongside synth and alternative pop, J9's sets were consistent crowd-pleasers and floor-fillers. We're putting away the records for the night and taking it back to how we used to do it - with CD's. (It'll give Saint a chance to play some things not available on vinyl!). J9 will blend those classic City cuts, with newer material supplied by Saint, for a night of diverse tunes. Many of you have been wishing for J9's return. Wish granted. :D Show up. Support. Dance. Have fun. You're ALL invited. It's FREE!!! event page here: https://www.facebook.com/events/1719180228399992
  7. For those who care, I was contacted a year ago regarding this possible tour by mutual music industry friends. Friends who all know Suicide Commando, their booking agents, people, etccc… My buddy sent me the initial inquiry to gauge interest. Long been out of the booking game - did that for 10 years until it became NO fun and a waste of time/energy. Anyways, with this show it became an exception, realizing how big a deal a Michigan stop would be for Suicide Commando. Naturally turned to people who could pull this off and that was Brian and his team at Necto. They have the venue, crowd, sound system, weekly DJ's who play this stuff, and MOST IMPORTANTLY budget to do this on a proper level AS WELL AS make it affordable for you gals and guys. He really deserves a ton of credit for negotiating a contract and getting everything signed - I simply just connected the dots for him. Give him the "nod of thanks". Anyways, for those who have never seen Johan (Suicide Commando) perform - expect something awesome. Have seen him quite a few times (including DJ'ing before and after a UK performance in 2004). It's a non-stop barrage of hits and tracks you'd never expect to hear. Visuals are retina frying as well. You're all in for a real treat. And Troy - Suicide Commando is NOT a small band by any means. They headline over VNV Nation on many European festivals and sell just as many units of music as Skinny Puppy and VNV. They're on just as many playlist as those other two bands. You'll realize the Ann Arbor Necto date is the only one in the Midwest on this tour. Has nothing to do with the size of the band, but on venues who can provide to fill their technical riders and honor their performance fees.
