Tonight!

Resident is DJ Jynx, Void6 I think is a bi-weekly DJ there. The bar is super nice, great sound system, awesome lights, pretty darn good drink prices. I just am not a fan of several members of the staff, 2 of which were already mentioned. The crowd I have heard is very very young these days and the music is mostly EBM/Synth based stuff. From what I hear its mostly stuff Like Aesthetic Perfection and Covenant. None of my friends really go anymore because of others who attend, but they get a fantastic turn out, probably the biggest club for our scene in Michigan, although its hard to tell which ones arent just playing dress up.

Was a fun night, thanks to all that came out!

Last first time viewing for me was last night. I watched "True Grit". It was ok, could have been better, but could have been alot worse too.

I hope you arent being passive aggressive and reffering me in that statement, as several members can tell you, I am more than willing to show people music and explain different aspects. I just like people to be "in the know" because the whole mixing of genres is causing a lot of people to think that certain stuff is no longer being made or that it has just completely changed, which if you know where to look, it hasnt. As was mentioned in the thread by joey deadcat about "goth being back".

If you are in the goth community and cant name a single big goth band, are you really into the music in the first place to even care about this question? Sorry, it is an easy question if you go buy the definition that I gave in a different thread. But just to stimulate conversation (as you would say), have fun debating As for people not being thick skinned...how did you last in the community if you ARENT thick skinned? Goths get poked at more than juggalos do, LoL. Feel free to delete my posts if you think it will get 50 responses I kind of doubt it as 90% of the people that do populate this forum dont even like goth music, which is the real reason why there havent been many posts in this thread. You would probably get more hits for a "quintessential industrial song".

Played alot more old stuff than usual, but glad you dug some of the new spooky tunes like Zola and O. Children.

Can one be a horror hound and not like at lease 1 Cronenberg movie? I have seen several, and I own The Fly, Videodrome, and Naked Lunch. Great stuff, love his "Body Horror". Kind of funny you brought this up because I actually plan on playing "Videodrome" tonight on the projector for "Industrial Wednesdays".

There are almost NEVER age restrictions for something cold events. Although if there are, usually its 18+

Try telling people about nights like :INDUSTRIAL WEDNESDAYS: and Something Cold that concentrate on new/underplayed music. Surprised people have missed that being the point of those nights for this long... And for the record, Something Cold and Industrial Wednesdays WILL play new goth sounds. (there I go saying it again..where is that counter)

Thats what we are getting at LoL I mean, obviously people go to be with friends and drink, but the music wasnt always irrelevant, and you can very easily dance to alot of gothy/post punk stuff. There is more than 1 NEW goth track that is just as dancy as "This Corrosion" which will still fill a floor. Im pretty sure Necto has dropped the whole goth label and has advertised itself as an industrial/synthpop club, which is cool, they are playing what they advertise. If you are gonna call it a Goth club, play new and current goth music. That is what me and joey are talking about at least. /rant. EDIT: Thank you for clarifying that Wednesdays plays different stuff.

Certain people get it, certain people dont, im over it. We do need those counters though. Haha

I personally could care less about the fashion. Most people that see me wouldnt know off the bat that I am in love with goth/industrial stuff, since I just wear black clothes, I dont deck myself out in fishnets and platform boots anymore. It is an important part of it I guess, but dressing up like a hardcore deathrocker without liking anything deathrock just seems silly to me (ib4 someone says "I dress in what I like").
