  1. With Void 6,Dark's Choir,Jinx and myself on the decks all night it's going to be a blast. Cash prizes for best and most unique costumes. Come check out what we can do with 500 ft. of EL wire. Free gaming stations and swag all over the bar. See you all then.
  2. Is saying "The opening suck" and etc. constructive criticism? No. That sounds like hyper-criticism;unjustified criticism and just plain faultfinding is all I see in this forum. Good to speak up, yes. But nagging? no.
  3. You guys already touched up on key points. *the sound *the maintenance For me, I [used] to go to CC. The last time I went, I was able to put my head into one of the speakers and not hear a sound... Somethings wrong there. I don't know about you guys, but I go to clubs to dance and not be able to hear the person next to me talking about smoking a cig. The reentry policy is mild and incoherent.
  4. Wow. Here's my 2 cents. Good show, alot of things happen which was out of our hand. The opening band is an opening band. Until I see more than 3 bands in this scene doing something, or you think you do better, then do so. Atleast they are doing something. The mix CD was a mix CD...Get over it. and we all seen a band we all wanted to see. Seems like all I see in this board are more finger pointing than a US Judicial Senate hearing about the oil spill; people complaining about every little detail yet forgetting the key fact that we seen Covenant. Period. Stop complaining.
  5. Sick, wrong and obviously could have only by conceived by a deranged syphilis induced mindset. This cover is real sadly enough. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bXjE0_AYypQ&feature=related Jinx
  6. Can't wait for this Monday. Met him about a month ago when he was in town for VNV Nation show. Talented and fun guy. For $3 to hear someone who we dance to every week in the clubs how can you go wrong?
  7. Al J left? That's somewhat of a surprise. He's been off and on for the last 15 years. And true! Leather Strip annual remix CD is lol each year.
  8. I'm going. Just to show support for a friend.
  9. So, I'm going through various industrial ebm blogspots and news and I've noticed a weird trend this year. Old skool artists coming out with CDs. Here's the line up. Skinny Puppy- June X-Marks the Pedwalk- March and April [bonus CD] Wumpscut- April Laether Stip- Feb [The best of] and March [actual album] Revolting Cocks- April Thrill Kill Kult- March Find it kinda weird. Most of these bands disappeared for more than 4 years. All went on tour as of late. *rubs chin*
  10. Leather Strip, Klutae, and I guess you can never go wrong with Wumpscut.
  11. Primary schools are using the notorious Grand Theft Auto video game to teach pupils about violence. Children as young as nine are being shown excerpts from the 18-rated series in which players can beat prostitutes with baseball bats. The sessions are supposed to help youngsters understand the consequences of gun and knife crime. Critics of the scheme say the graphic content of the game makes it too dangerous to show to young children. Eight primary schools in Liverpool are taking part in the Get Real education project with backing from the police, the city council and Merseyside's Support After Murder and Manslaughter group. Organizers, who have been given £15,000 by the Home Office, want the project to go nationwide to help reduce violent crime. Under the scheme, police officers and bereaved mothers from SAMM visit the primary schools to discuss differences between fictional and real-life violence. They show year five and year six pupils still images from Grand Theft Auto, Bugs Bunny and the Itchy And Scratchy Show - the violent satirical cartoon from The Simpsons. The youngsters are also given trading cards with images from the video game and the cartoons, alongside real-life images of drunks, knives, syringes and parents arguing. The youngsters are asked to say whether what they see is 'good real life', 'bad real life', 'not real life' or 'not sure'. The Grand Theft Auto images include footage of assassins and a man being threatened with a sword. Pupils also see a hatchet buried in the head of a character from the Itchy And Scratchy Show. Gaynor Bell, chair of SAMM Merseyside, whose second son was murdered, denied that the scheme glamorised violence. She insisted it brought out 'massive discussions' among children about what is right and wrong. But Kevin Browne, a professor of forensic and family psychology at Birmingham University, said: 'It sounds really high risk. 'Cartoons won't work when it comes to showing violence, and computer games rarely depict violence realistically so the consequences the children would see undermine the real consequences of violence.' Margaret Morrissey, of the family group Parents Outloud, said it was 'entirely inappropriate' to show the footage in primary schools. She said: 'It's dreadful. It's heartbreaking for those parents who have been particularly conscious not to allow their children to see these things and are trying to protect them until they are old enough to cope. 'However, this right is being stripped from them by Government-supported initiatives.' Mrs Bell said the children were told the video images were not real. She added: 'Violent images are in front of children all the time - when they get home and put their video games on or watch cartoons - and it can make them think that this sort of thing is all right. 'They see violence so often in their daily lives that they are desensitised and cannot really appreciate the consequences of picking up a hatchet and swinging it around. 'This is all about showing them that if they put a knife in someone, that person will die and they will end up in jail.
  12. I would like to quote Ronald Reagan... "Government is not the solution to problems, government is the problem."
  13. Interesting topic. It seems we all have our own perspective on how to get into club djing. My own personal experience was that I came up to the club alot, request tracks, BS with the dj about song selections. It's all about mingling. Randomly walking up to a DJ and saying "I DJ, here's a demo." Doesn't work these days. Submit a demo CD [always a must] But even when submitting a demo CD, DO NOT USE A PROGRAM TO MIX. For the love of god, DON'T. Why? What if you get the job and the only thing you know is a computer screen, the sync button and a mouse. Hardware is a must to not only practice but the hone your skills. It's always good to gather every ounce of knowledge of each dj you hear and if you like a track or SEE an interesting response, ask for the track. How do I know?I DJ at Necto on Mondays for 2 years + and also dj in Bowling Green a few. Took me awhile to gain my own personal style and even a rhythm. and that's my personal experience.
  14. Fuck...YES! I haven't seen these guys since the Rotersand tour back in 07.
  15. For those who enjoy hard hitting Power-noize/industrial, Noisuf-X has a new album out. I'm sure you guys will enjoy it. http://www.freshwap.net/forums/music/1215212-rs-hf-noisuf-x-excessive_exposure-2cd-limited_edition-2010-fwyh.html
  16. Indeed. I'm glad they got rid of their vo-coders [for most of their tracks]. I was excited about the album while chatting with Natural of Kommor Kommando about it. Hm...A noize buff, eh? Have you listened to Noisuf x new album yet?
  17. Wow. Alot of bands are coming out this year. I'm thinking of going. That and or the Covenant show in the middle of May.
  18. lol. Great post. Yea, I believe this is the same story of a Bishop who molested over 200 deaf boys.... It's clever. A deaf person will never speak, only the unlit look in their eyes can tell you everything.
  19. Indeed. I must say, it's their best CD yet. Have you listened to SITDs Rot remixed by SAM? Great remix.
  20. Niiiice. Welcome back. =] Yea, I'll be there.
