  1. Oh and as for the money to cover these costs? We COULD have had it.. had people like you joined people like us in protesting the terrible mistakes the Bush administration has made, which has got this ginormously huge ball of dept rolling in the first place. Again, I ask, where was your great concern when Bush stole his 2nd election?
  2. That can simply, rounded up in a nutshell, be explained by all countries, who once were soveriegn of their own nations, including our own system of currency, letting their financhial independence (like our federal reserve system) go away in place of a system the investors conjured up. Then comes inflation, dept, made up money, allowing money that doesn't exist to be used, a total loss of balance and control.. and oh, the only people that aren't hurt by this? The investors and credit unions. I read several articals on the current system and how fucked up it is but I think that's an entirely different can of worms that, if disussion is continued on this, must go to another thread (which i think exists already) as to not threadjack this thread. EDIT-this color is indicated on what I edited in. Curse my bad habbit of proof reading after posting
  3. Woah, before you blow your lid man, let me explain to you WHY most people here might feel you are actually doing this.. Though you haven't DIRECTLY said our system is better, you keep pointing out the problems with other systems, and other ideas for improvement. You also, never, until a recent post, said that Canada's health care is better, but you also said Obama is better than Jesus too.. so as much as I laughed at that sarcasm, I can't count that post because of the sarcasm. It's more of a matter of not what you defend, but what you are on the offensive about. It's rather tunnel visioned. We are looking for an improvement to our health care, so any system that's doing better than ours can be looked at as an example. You would drive on the counter to point out nothing but the problems with these other health care systems. Wich really.. and i mean REALLY, drives the impression to alot of us that, since you only have negative things to say about any other ideas or systems in other countries, that you're not wanting them because you think it's so much worse. I would go on quoting certain things you've said but I really can't be arsed at the moment since I'm not trying to argue you, rather explain why some people would get this certain impression off you.
  4. where was your activism when the Bush Buddies stole the election? Also, I will agree I did favor Hillary over Obama, but just slightly. However, it would have still been a pick my poision situation as I don't think she is good enough to be president either.
  5. heh, honestly man, I like your smart ass sense of humor... usa sucking ass and doing nothing right... i'll agree with you there.. obama better than jesus? meh... technically I'll have to agree since, if jesus did exist, he's obviously dead now, and a dead person just lays there and does nothing.. anyone can be better than a dead person But if that's the gist you got off me or most others is that we love obama like the 2nd cumming of crist then you're mistaken... on my part at least, can't really speak for others other than the gist that they aren't really happy with obama either, at least that's the impression I've gotten. My big gripe about it? I'm tired of all the one sided thoughts. People who didn't make a peep or complaint about bush are all of a sudden forming groups and self proclaiming them a political town watch who are thwarting every evil deed obama does. And same with the other side, throwing the same temper tantrum "republicans" are throwing now, when bush was in office, but not making a peep about Obama. Now I know I defended Obama, I do believe he has good intentions, but rather not the best judgement, and neither does his administration (sorta the same as the bush administration, but at least he's not a complete moron that listens to obvious war profiteers only, yes i know he listens to them, but he tries to listen to others as well), also, I have to give him some handicap bonus points for walking into a mess to begin with, that the bush administration left behind. There were alot more people that wanted to run for presidency in the begining of this last election but.. didn't make the popularity cut, however were very rational in their thinking, but sadly didn't have the charisma to pull it into the top 2 finals slots. At the end result, I don't think we had a fair election to begin with since, well, IMO, neither McCain nor Obama really had my confidence.. In this situation I ALMOST didn't vote.. and picked who I thought was the lesser of 2 evils. I will go on record the final deciding factor was Sarah Palin.. just In my humble opinion, anyone to pick her as VP Is missing some critical screws upstairs that I feel are required to run a country, or at least be the figure head.
  6. I just don't think Gaf is going to get the point. The point being, don't knock Canada's health when they're obviously running their shit better than us.
  7. I've said this once before, and I'll say this again. There shouldn't be a cap off. There should be one simple number for everyone, a percentage. Just for a simple example, lets say we'll make 10% of everyone's income go to taxes. It's simple, and it's fair. So the more income, the more you get taxed, but you're still getting more in net pay. I know in theory this would work, but in reality well who the hell knows?
  8. what we need to do to discourage corporations from moving over seas is stipulating a very HEAVY import tarrif to all products made over seas that still wish to claim the "AMERICAN" product.. *coughgeneralmotorscough*
  9. At this point in life, I don't even give a flying fuck what I am. Popeye says It best, "I am what I am, and that's all that I am!"
  10. rehashing? I don't understand why you would say that since you are doing the same and I really do not like it when someone tries to take someone else's statement and twist it into a different meaning to try to get the upperhand the wrong way. Besides, this is a debate about health care and obama's infuence. Phee made an analogy, that much is plainly obvious, which was a pretty easy analogy to figure out. Easy enough to where anyone who takes it otherwise, has their head in the mud. Take it as you will if the shoe fits, but I'm not afraid to call a spade a spade. As for me, I don't know what is right, but I do know what the right path is to find out, and arguing over who's right and who's wrong isn't the right path but rather figure it out together. Obamacare isn't perfect, republicans had a hand in that (to protect the insurance companies from making less profits than they currently are) to make it the atrocity it is right now. From someone who's still on the fence of either side, I have noticed a hypocritical double standard in these forums. Republican siding people tend to never acknowledge the immaturity and willfully poor decisions made by their political party but are quick to demonize the democrats, such as saying "THEY'RE INTENTIONALLY DESTROYING AMERICA!!! ZOMG!!!" Yes.. I've read statements like that even here on DGN, wich honestly, statements like that are ludicrous, and are void of any rational and intelligent thinking. Yet on the flip side, I don't see much people on this site who lean democraticly doing the same thing, rather they admit to the faults of their favoured party but at the same token, rationally argue that they are on the side of lesser evil. I see considerable more willful ignorance from republican supporters than I do democratic supporters on this site, and in general out in the real world. Also, those who claim such outrageous acts also claim to be in the knowing, yet never link their sources on here, yet many on the democratic side, such as jynx, have. A funny thing about scholars that I have read once, having all that knowledge, yet refuse to share it, to create, and depend on the assumption that they are never wrong, even in case they might actually be wrong. It's just left to my conclusion that most claims by republicans on this site are dead wrong, based on the fact that they haven't posted any of their sources of this "knowledge" they have, and the fact i couldn't find anything even remotely close to their claims when searching news sources and archives myself.
  11. Now if you would so kindly remove your head from the mud, you would have seen phee was making an ANALOGY to back his statements up, NOT TO BULLY PEOPLE INTO PAYING. But to say, the way Night wants things done, then in the same principal, he would also want to see DGN for paying members only. How come the only ones who can't seem to get Phee's point are the ones against the side of the fence he's on? Oh yeah, i forgot, you are taking the republican way and trying to twist shit up in dogma becaus to BE RIGHT is surely more importan than WHAT'S RIGHT.... right?
  12. I actually got his point, why are you the only one that's not getting it? I mean seriously... you have to be trolling, you already proven you're too smart to have your head buried this far in the mud now...
  13. I also want to call somebody else out here, Saint Germain!!! Front and center on the stage!! I've heard through several sources that indicate the German health care system blows our health care (and canada's i think) to pure shame. I however, cannot find the actual recources for when i transfered google's search results to the .de base.. everything came up in german.. mind throwing in your 2 cents if you're reading this?
  14. I love how some americans who aren't familiar with canadian health care are STILL arguing Siren, an actual canadian who most obviously KNOWS how her health care works. Brainwashed conservative/republicans = FAI... actually, my signature just sums it all up in my favourite 4 letter word
  15. Here, I'll help them out. http://www.google.com There, now there is no excuse for the willful ignorance in this thread.
  16. Everyone seems to forget that the "Obamacare" isn't what it was origionally planned to be. Who's responsible for altering the origional plan to the cluster fuck we have today? Well, as I followed along this, it seemed to be the republicans behind it's terrible mutation into what we have now. Shocking, I know, especially since it was somehow the democrat's fault for everything going bad between 2000-2008 when the republicans had control of our government with an iron fist. It's kind of like saying the dark ages were the fault of science and not religion.
  17. Thanks for the probs on the forums dude, it's nice to know that there's others who see eye to eye with me.

  18. I'd like to think the nation is slowly starting to wake up and realize what we need to do however, I don't have any faith in mankind as a whole to ever grow up and think rationally. A million years of evolution results to this... Darwin is banging his head in his coffin as we speak.
  19. To dig oursleves out, we must undo what has been done, not create new programs to cover over the clusterfuck. so yes, they're intentions are to fill in the hole, but they're actually trying to build something on top of the hole.. And what happens when you build something on a weak.. or virtually no foundation at all? Yeah that's right, it'll fill the hole alright.. in a broken mess. I refuse to call what we have now, democrats or republicans, by those names. They're not what they used to be. Instead I shall rename them this. Republican party is now recognized to me as Corporate whores And the democratic party is now recognized to me as clueless jerkoffs DISCLAIMER: These insulting names are limited to the actual political parties in office, not the voters.
  20. Well.. if they would just totally cut out the insurance middle men instead of continuing to suck them off... obamacare might actually work.
  21. I've said it before and I'll say it again. When the citizens of this country step up and grow a pair, we won't need all this privacy invading security. The "protection" it promises is an illusion. If someone wants to hijack a plane, they'll find a way, no matter how thorough TSA searches are. And what do I mean by grow a pair? I mean just that, If some shit bag terrorist tries to hijack a plane, why don't a few of us just stand up and knock his ass the fuck out? I don't know about any of you, but if I were in that situation, I'll know I have 2 choices, either sit down and hope the hijacker isn't gonna wanna crash the plane and die, or stand up and fight for my own life, and set an example to these ass fucks that we're not tolerating this shit anymore, that if they want to try, they're gonna have a plane full of people that will NOT let them succeed. Once they see that enough of us have the balls to actually defend ourselves, then really, what the hell else can they do?
  22. as far as taxes go, to fairly distribute taxing between the rich and the poor, the ratio is the most rational principal way i can think of. Instead of having a cap off, where taxes top increasing even though your income keeps increasing, have a fair, standard, across the board, everybody included, number. Say.. oh just for example, 10% of your income goes to taxes. Ok so the rich will pay more, but they make more, but when you think about it, someone making 100 bucks a month only gets taxed 10 dollars and walks off with 90, the one making 1000, taxed 100 dollars, but walks off with 900. he's getting a heavier tax yes, but also, he's still walking off with 10 times as much money as the first guy. To me, that's the only truely fair way to do it. As for the obamacare, it's a great idea, just a terrible time to do it. We have to unfuck the shit the bush administration put us in before we can try to improve other things. In a manner of speaking as an analogy, the republicans... no i take that back.. the bush administration dug this country into a hole. The democrats, god bless their stupid little hearts, aren't understanding that we gotta dig ourselves out of this hole and fill it up before we can build on it.
  23. Let me say something to make it clear, Machine was a Troll. His political stance, though unpopular, had nothing to do with his banning. I don't even have to be a mod to understand that. He would spew absolute garbage and was very insulting at the same time. This is why Creature, though in my humble opinion is misguided (since it was the BUSH ADMINISTRATION aka, neocon republicans, that put us 14 trillion dollars in dept, somehow works out in his mind as the democrats doing from my understanding of his post), is not a horrible trolling attempt like machine. If you want my personal experience with Machine, I hardly doubt the guy was even republican. But almost 100% possitive he was a massive failure at being a troll. Alot of the stuff he would post, the other "extreme" republicans couldn't even agree with. And alot of his stuff was just sooo far out in left field that nobody with any remote sign of intelligence would agree with his side. I have a hunch that he was just posing as a republican with very illogical and incoherent ideas to either make republicans look bad (most likely strategy) or to make liberal/democrats RAGE. Either way, he kept up because people kept feeding him.
  24. You're a legal adult now, if you can find a job to support yourself and your needs, go for it. The sad reality you face, is one I faced, as long as you're living with your parents, you are under their roof, and they have the right to make the rules. I feel you on the fact you'd like to keep good relations with the family, however, it looks as if they do not feel the same as they care about their rules more than your happiness. What it boils down to is, it's your life, you have the right to chose to live it how you wish. As painful as it may be, if they chose not to have anything to do with you based on what values you set for yourself, that's their problem. It may cause hardships, but eventually, they'll come around and realize they no longer have the right to dictate to you how you should live life. However, in turn, they reserve the right to not support your way of life too.
  25. back to the topic at hand.. I'm all for these "leaks" until we get our own privacies back. Those who took away our privacy should not be above their own laws.
