  1. Wonder if this will change anything with the tour: Driving drunk/hit&run/meth possession... http://www.glendalen...0,7800622.story
  2. For those of you who didn't get a chance to see her the 3x she made it to Detroit in the last year or two, stop by the Blind Pig next Thursday Oct 13th. Doors are at 9 and tickets are $12. 18+. The Pig rarely ever gets decent shows anymore so hopefully the turn out isn't too bad. Her new album "Conatus" also came out today and can be streamed here for those not familiar with her: http://tinyurl.com/42c6s7w
  3. thanks for posting this, I have no clue how I missed it.
  4. got this off facebook: Darque Productions, LLC. is very, VERY happy to confirm The Legends of Synthpop Tour feat. De/Vision, Mesh and Iris!!! Tuesday April 5th, 2011 at Small's in Hamtramck. Local favorites D:konstruct and Pulse State will be opening the show, and DJ Elektrosonik will provide the tunes in between bands! All Ages Welcome! More info to come!
  5. this would be great. haven't seen mesh since the "synthpop goes the world" fest in toronto many years ago.
  6. had an amazing time last night. been waiting many years top see them live and they did not disappoint. i only hope they come around again and play some tracks from a little later in their catalog.
  7. Just a reminder that this show is coming up this Monday night. And they def are playing some old tunes. here's a recent interview quote from Gira: "the songs that I sent everybody to learn how to play are: “Power for Power” from the first album Filth, “Clay Man” and “Your Property,” from Cop, “I Crawled” and “Raping a Slave,” from the Young God EP, “Another You” and “A Screw,” from Holy Money, “Anything for You,” from Greed, and from Children of God: “Sex God Sex” and “Beautiful Child.”
  8. Not that it really matters but it is Norman Westberg not Wakefield. He's been around since the band started in the early 80's. I've read that they will be playing some older heavier stuff but I'm not sure how true that is. But I'd kill to hear Time is Money live. One of my top 5 bands of all time and I was too young to see them last time they toured so I'll be seeing you guys there.
  9. http://www.paxahau.com/movement/ headliners are Plastikman, Inner City, and Model 500. i like that they went all old school detroit for the headliners as it's the 10th anniversary but i'll probably skip this one.
  10. I haven't gone since the Ebb show and agree that it was getting worse and worse every year up till then. But I'm interested in seeing who they get this year for the 10th anniversary. Plastikman is the only artist announced so far I think. But they are going to do a partial lineup announcement tomorrow so I am hoping to get someone like autechre again (their new album is great) to make the show worthwhile for me.
  11. As of last week this tour was postponed until September. Crofoot/Ticketweb really need to update their pages.
  12. i lived there for quite some time and would have to disagree. it has always been a very goth/industrial friendly city. as far as things to do i'd say it is pretty much equal to cleveland, pittsburgh or any of the other old run down east coast cities. but i'd take any of them over the ann arbor area where i've been for the past decade.
  13. i think they only killed 1 song at the end. i saw the setlist on the soundboard and it had 2 songs after assimilate. didn't catch the names but i'm guessing we missed "far too frail" which has ended a bunch of other shows on this tour.
  14. the opener for this tour is http://www.myspace.com/vverevvolfgrehv
  15. 89x has been giving away tix for this all morning. Just got some which made my week and saved my bank account. But I think they are giving away at least 1 more pair sometime in the next hour so give it a shot if you read this before then.
  16. i've seen way too many shows with 15-30 people at them around detroit so i guess i can't blame anyone for skipping here. but i can't imagine that the cleveland show will have a huge turnout either and it would be a much quicker drive for them to do chicago>detroit>toronto than chicago>cleveland>toronto. oh well, i'm glad i saw them at demf too (was out of town for Throbbing Gristle during the Fixmer/McCarthy gig). looks like they are playing much smaller places than the US tour they did a few years ago so i'm sure these shows will be great.
  17. i won't be going to this show but i recommend others do. i've seen dm a few times over the years and one of those times was in toronto. i don't know what it is but the whole atmosphere and feel of the show there was 100X better than the last 2 times i have seen them in the detroit area. i used to spend a lot of time in toronto when i lived in buffalo and i guess most of the shows i went to seemed funner now that i think about it. plus it's just an amazing city with so much to do during the day and night.
  18. so if anyone wants a free ticket to this show let me know. as i'm going by myself i plan on trying to pretty much just be there for peter's set so i will get there around 9:45-10. but if you want to meet me at the door then my extra ticket is yours. ***this is now spoken for.
  19. i may have an extra ticket to this. i won a pair off of 89x this past weekend and my girlfriend hates him and i don't think she'll go. but no guarantees yet. i'll know thursday if it's 100% or not and if she isn't going i'll be glad to just give it to someone. you'd just have to meet me at will call as that is where my tickets will be. also does anyone know cc's typical show times? their website says 8 so i'm guessing that is the doors?
  20. i'm gonna guess that he is just taking some touring time off now that he is getting married and that at some point maybe after doing the family thing or whatever he'll be back. i noticed his fiance hanging at the side of the stage with Perry's wife during nin's set.
  21. the girl and i had a great time. we were in the 4th row and got some good pics/video which i will post more of later. not a huge JA fan but thought they were great. eric avery looked like he was one pissed off dude playing that bass. i had seen him play with peter murphy's band back in the day and i must say he's a great bass player. i was way let down by the nin set. the energy was good but he basically played all of the normal songs he always plays on tour and added "now i'm nothing" and "downward spiral". the rest were the standards. the night before he played mr self destruct, heresy, piggy (remix version), metal, physical, and i do not want this. all stuff he hasn't played barely at all on recent tours. yet this show was almost identical to the last few i have seen. guess that is my luck. still had a great time overall. anyhow here's a link to my video of jane says if anyone is interested:
  22. was a huge fan back around her first 2 or 3 albums but since then i feel like every cd seems to only have a couple of stand out tracks. but she always puts on a good show and i haven't seen her is a few years so i got mine this morning too.
  23. how'd you manage that? did u get lucky on the twitter ticket giveaways or donate to that save eric fund he's helping out with? that should be awesome for you. my girlfriend and i will probably be seated right by you in center row eee.
  24. from ninja2009.com Doors: 5:00 pm SSSC: 6:30 pm NIN: 7:15 pm Jane's: 9:00 pm
  25. Apparently he's back again for those that missed him last year. I'm glad as i went to see the cure in cleveland last year when he came around. and i think ladytron was that night too so hopefully nothing conflicts with this one. http://www.ticketmaster.com/event/080042AEB56F4792
